For a minute, I had to check to see if Reinsdorf died or sold to Mark Cuban.

Trade Market for Starting Pitchers...
People seem to forget this. The AL Central is a joke compared to the AL East.

What is, “more than the White Sox?”

Trade Market for Starting Pitchers...
I don’t think he has any value until he starts pitching again.

Sox in on Marcell Ozuna? I mean, maybe. Or not.

1 for 3 on your biggest targets in the past two offseasons isn’t a very good percentage.- Sox in on Marcell Ozuna? I mean, maybe. Or not.
It’s quite clear to me that Machado wanted $50 million more in guaranteed money, rather than worrying about hitting incentive-based money when he is 34 years old.- Sox in on Marcell Ozuna? I mean, maybe. Or not.
Indeed. Great post.- Sox in on Marcell Ozuna? I mean, maybe. Or not.
Try to stick to facts. Are you referring to $25M AAV that was never spent by the Sox? Not spending money doesn’t fit your narrative either but you are trying to use it to.- Sox in on Marcell Ozuna? I mean, maybe. Or not.
See Southsideirish71’s post above. Thinking that your contract offer that is $50 million short in guaranteed money is competitive enough compared to your competition for that player is either moronic or a lie.- Sox in on Marcell Ozuna? I mean, maybe. Or not.
The franchise history contract was a joke to begin with. It’s time to play with the big boys. Has being a Sox fan under this ownership and management lowered your expectations so much as to think that $73 million is a huge sum of money in the MLB these days? It’s not.- Sox in on Marcell Ozuna? I mean, maybe. Or not.
See my previous post. There are other reasons for teams to float out offers that are never going to be accepted.- Sox in on Marcell Ozuna? I mean, maybe. Or not.
My narrative? It’s a fact that the money was never spent. They didn’t sign Machado or Wheeler. Did you ever think a team would want to appear like they are going after the big fish to appease their fan base? Being short $50 million in guaranteed money for a player is a far cry from signing said player.- Sox in on Marcell Ozuna? I mean, maybe. Or not.
Once again, I don’t care about players and contracts that never came to fruition and you shouldn’t either. $73 million is still the record contract for the Sox.- Sox in on Marcell Ozuna? I mean, maybe. Or not.
Just like last year with Machado, “almost” signing a player to a big contract doesn’t count for anything. The fact is that the biggest contract they have handed out is $73 million which is nothing to be all that impressed by.- Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
I’ll believe it when I see it considering who their agent is.- Strasburg back to WASH
This signing is great news regardless. Boras actually stuck to his comments about things moving fast. We won’t be waiting all winter to see where these free agents go.- Strasburg back to WASH
Oops... The Sox haven’t seemed to learn that free agent prices just keep going up year after year. They don’t go down.- Sox in on Marcell Ozuna? I mean, maybe. Or not.
Yep. Reinsdorf wants to win... but at his price, not what top tier free agents actually get paid. I’m sure he also has a lot of family to spread his wealth out to before he is six feet under.- Sox in on Marcell Ozuna? I mean, maybe. Or not.
Exactly.- Sox in on Marcell Ozuna? I mean, maybe. Or not.
No, it’s still funny. How many teams haven’t spent more than $73 million on one player? Big for the White Sox but not in the grand scheme of the MLB.- Sox in on Marcell Ozuna? I mean, maybe. Or not.
How is Hector still backing his guy after this?!? - Sox in on Marcell Ozuna? I mean, maybe. Or not.
