  1. Your take is the most likely outcome. Just spitballing that 4 yrs at 40 M isn't silly. It might be an overpay or a bargain.
  2. Just saying there is nothing that says 10 million per year would get turned down. That's good money when you have no guarantee that more than that is in his future. He hasn't been worth more than that. Additionally, he had a front row seat to how fast a Tim Anderson fanished from relevance.
  3. Because the options cost 20 million per year. 2 years for 40 isn't quite the same as 4 years for 40. I would argue that he is worth 10 million per year because of his current skill set.
  4. I wonder what 4 year contract would cost. Yes I understand who his agent is. His skill level with speed and defense would be worth say 4 years at 10 million per year. I don't want to give him away for nothing...and I sure don't want to pay him 20 million per year.
  5. Montgomery has more upside, but Sosa would be an upgrade as well.
  6. Once Montgomery is in the lineup instead of Rojas, I like lots.
  7. Agreed, as long as the money is spent throughout the organization and not on just a couple of overpaid busts.
  8. He is what I wanted Madrigal to be.
  9. I would settle for a roof over the current stadium. My interest in spending money is focused on the team. Baseball can be played in parks a lot less expensive than these new proposals.
  10. Maybe the coaches need to do a little coaching.
  11. Throwing home when there isn't a prayer of getting the runner while the runner takes second. As kids playing sandlot baseball...we knew better than this. A pet peeve of mine.
  12. The difference is that we were favored to win most of them.
  13. I agree. If it were one of our kids, we would be crushed.
  14. Looks like a powerhouse if you squint.
  15. I vote for quality over quantity. Please give me a player with OBP, defense, and speed any day.
  16. I actually cancelled MLV.com after the season, but weakened one hour before the opening day game. Yeah, I know...weak. They have been mildly entertaining despite Jerry. Getz has focused on building the foundation of the coaching staff and pitching/hitting development, manager, etc. Adding the new players has put life into the otherwise dead lineup. A new ownership with an open wallet could fix this mess fairly rapidly, IMO.
  17. I came to the realization recently that there are about a dozen players on the team who look good. That's a pretty good place to build from.
  18. I just watched Moneyball for the fourth time. Perhaps Getz could find some inspiration by quickly viewing.🙂
  19. Jerry and Tony tanked this organization. IMO, the GMs did the best they could with this ownership.
