  1. Fair enough, but my point is that they are not even top ten hitters yet they want the most money in the history of the sport. In my opinion you better be in the top 5 in the league if you want that much money, regardless of age or defense.
  2. I was talking strictly hitting. Here are ten hitters better than Machado and Harper and there may even be more: 1)Trout 2)Ramirez 3)Bregman 4)Betts 5)Rendon 6)JD Martinez 7)Altuve 8)Soto 8)Bryant 9)Lindor 10)Votto
  3. Give me the the big guy who didnt worry about the muscle.
  4. Machado and Harper arent even top ten hitters in the league, yet they want the most money ever. Im so glad the Sox didnt sign them. Look at players like Pujols and Cabrera, they declined alot in their late contract years, and Pujols and Cabrera are future hall of famers.
  5. Leury should have been let go already. 69 ks is to 9 bb in 2018. If it was between Leury and Rondon, definitely Rondon.
  6. It's a pity there is not a way to televise all Spring training games.
  7. That's not true, God doesn't make people gay, although he can allow some to fight the cross of same sex attraction. That is not something God causes but is the result of original sin. We all fight disordered attractions of some sort, we are human, but giving into these attractions is a sin. So ultimately it's a choice whether or not someone gives into same sex attractions and is gay. It's not like race where one is born into the color of their skin where they have no choice. It can be much more complex since now as we can see homosexuality is normalized by society, and in some instances people fight same sex attractions because they were physically sexually abused, or mentally abused. But homosexuality (giving into homosexuality) and homosexual acts is a sin condemned by the Scriptures.
  8. Ok I don't want this thread to get shut down, not to mention there are other topics, so I am glad I was able to bring this up, thanks to all for conversing.
  9. True. And all people are welcome to the game, and anyone can do bad things at the game, but what I don't agree with is the promotion of "pride night," for all the reasons I described.
  10. Remember anyone that disagrees with this crowd is a bigot, homophobe, etc etc. My point is having a "gay pride" night is showing scandal. If I bring my kids I am going to have to explain to them something that's not appropriate at the ball park, and if kids go with friends or others they can be led astray. There are rainbow flags. In other ball parks there has been kiss cams where two people of the same sex kiss. If we are talking about violence against a group of people why not just have a anti-violence day?
  11. Once again just because I dont support "gay pride" doesnt mean I hate anyone or want to hurt anyone. Would you be satisfied with an "adultery pride" night or a "fornication pride" night?
  12. Hey, I love the team too, and if I know that something they are doing is not for the common good for the organization and baseball itself, then I should be able to say something. We can leave it at that. As I said they should have an anti-bullying day, but to promote "gay pride" I think is going to far and showing scandal to alot of people including the young.
  13. I respect you and your opinions but it hurts to see our organization, and the one I love so much scandalize not only the adults but especially the young. I will stick around. I still believe in Gospel values, not progressive false ideas. I will leave it there for now.
  14. Smith (30 years old) hit .292 with only 18 k's to 10 BB in 187 plate appearances McCann(28 years old) hit .220 116 k's to 26 BB in 457 plate appearances Sox like guys that K's alot and hit for a low average...j/k being a funny guy I do like McCann though, maybe he can get in with the pitchers and help their performance.
  15. You are twisting what I am saying to say that I believe in hurting someone that has same sex attraction. No, all people are welcome at the park, but the organization shouldnt push homosexuality by promoting a "pride day." They can have an anti-bullying day to cover all types of bullying.
  16. Good questions, Im not sure how teams use players in spring training. I love Pavin Smith of the D Back and think is a terrific hitter only to find he is not even on the Sprint team for them. Goins has the MLB track record and is closer to joining the MLB team? Madrigal maybe can get more work preparing for the minor league season?
  17. Mendick has been interesting so far, lets see what can do today.
  18. I am very upset the White Sox will host a "gay pride" day again at their park on July 23rd. This is a kids game and this sort of political ideology should not be at our ballpark where many kids attend. The Sox should not be promoting homosexuality, as many innocent kids that day may become interested in homosexuality because of the White Sox showing scandal and promoting such a thing. They should just stick to an anti-bullying day. I was very close to abandoning this team because of this, but I hope to work for some change from within while still rooting for the Sox.
  19. This is a great summary of the 2005 team. But small ball was implemented in each one of these categories. It was a philosophy, it was an unselfish philosophy that the players bought into and it did effect all aspects of the 2005 team. Once they signed Dunn and Thome, seems like they shifted away from this philosophy. Anayways....this is a new team with a new philosophy.
  20. Looking at the stats for that 2005 team they were the 6th worst in the entire MLB in walks but they didnt strike out, they put the ball in play and were around the middle of the pack in the entire MLB with strikeouts. Last year we led the entire MLB in strikeouts with 1594.
