Yattah Boyz #2!
-
"Yoan Moncada being a star completely changes the offenses dynamic. Long way to go to prove this is real, but the fastest thing to normalize in baseball is k rate. We get another week down the road and he's under 20% you can say with some certainty that he's taken big strides" And if Moncada can do that, he fits perfect in the #2 spot with his speed. GONER FOR MONCADA!!
-
Now is where you can shut down Rodon if one is worried about pitch count.
-
Rodon is 26, he can dominate until he is 34. Why would we trade him and watch his success on another team?
-
Yes now is the time for Covey, not with a 1 run lead in the 8th.
-
Moncada en feugo!
-
Congrats! Lets give the gift of a White Sox Championship for your wedding!
-
Cant let Kluber settle in, must continue to draw walks. He is already over 70 pitches. Lets knock him out of this game!
-
Yolmer reminds me of Willie Harris of the 2005 Sox, a good bench player that is a great clubhouse guy.
-
I see no rain in forcast for tomorrow? Is this just another ploy to make money? Let's play ball already, enough with the greed!
-
Defensively he needs work, he has already made some bad throws.
-
Moncada, Tatis Jr., Acuna are all close to the same players. They are not spectacular hitters. Just average hitters who K alot. They can grow but they have had the same stats their entire minor league career. If anything Moncada will pan out to be the best of those 3 players. With that said, I wouldn't pay him yet. Now Soto is a different character, I can see him possibly Hall of Fame worthy.

What? For him to finish 9 innings?!? C'mon stop wimping down the players. -

Maybe it's not Renteria, maybe someone is telling him "it doesn't matter win or lose, just try guys out, even if we lose a little who cares we can get a better draft pick." That's how our players are playing on the field. -

Ok let's not be so dramatic. Let's say a starting pitcher has 33 starts and pitches 9 innings every start. That's 297 innings. Steve Carlton pitched 300 innings in 1980. Nova could have finished the game and my bet is he wanted to as well. -

93!?!? I wouldnt have taken him out on 193 the way he was pitching. Pitchers used to pitch 400 innings a season while throwing a sloppy heavy ball. Plus as DJ and Farmer were saying that our pen guys weren't tested for that situation. No excuses to lose that game. We want to win the game, not play lab rats all season and lose 100 again. -

Still have to disagree, it was a bonehead move that cost us the game. If Renteria wants to be here for the rebuild and the winning, which I think he can, I think he's a great manager, he is going to have to instill the character of winning. The Sox look off this year, especially defensively, hitting is starting off lackluster, and now managerial moves look suspect. Now is the time for change. I can bet people are against us, they want this team to move to Vegas or another city. Now is the time to build a dynasty. -

Covey has been on the team for years and has never been proven to be dependable. -

If we don't build an attitude of winning then this experiment is no good. For a team to purposely throw in pitchers that are not ready for situations or just aren't good enough will lose games and lose chemistry and everything else that pertains to the good of this franchise. Once again I'm confused why we took out Nova when he was rolling. I can't go here yet, but the thought crossed my mind that someone in the organization is trying to lose, that would be terrible for this organization. -

On a positive note, Engel covers major ground in center field. -

Exactly! This website is one step ahead of the hitman, two steps ahead of the flock! -
I hope the plan is to win, and win now. Without that attitude the future won't matter.

They should make another sector for game threads and keep them in date order regardless of recent post. The game threads can be one like this thread that includes pre-game, in-game, and post game comments all in one thread. The date should be included in the subject. At the end of the season there should be (in date order)162 threads for regular season, plus maybe the all-star game, plus the spring training games, plus hopefully the postseason when the Sox make the playoffs. =) -

Francona makes the mistake of taking out Clevinger, then Renteria sees Franconas mistake and makes makes the same mistake. Pitchers used to pitch 400 innings. Taking out a pitcher that is rolling sets low his confidence, and ruins the momentum. -
Awesome, God Bless their new little one!
