My favorite college hitter is Ryan Ward from Bryant University. Sweet compact swing, can play catcher. If I had to pick a #2 college hitter it I guess would be Andrew Vaughn, although not hot on the high leg kick.

There is no way this is a coincidence that all our best minor league pitchers are hurt. The training or the coaching needs to be examined. That way there can be no excuses if the White Sox rebuild falls short. As far as developing hitters, I see that as a problem too. Now is the time when we need the best training staff,coaching, and philosophy in the minors.

Adam can go get em though. And he is about the same hitter as Leury and Delmonico.

I say Leury goes, he has been showcased as of late.

The main way we will get fan interest is being in the playoffs hunt later in the season. Machado won't do it, Harper won't do it. What will do it is a team that can compete, and to compete pitching and defense is a must. I'd rather have Dallas than either Manny or Harper since Manny and Harper's production can be matched more easily by other players where Dallas is at a premium.

If we have the money I would definitely sign him very soon. He will bring fan interest for sure and just in case we somehow compete for playoffs....... He would be a big piece of that.

If we are going to trade with Pitts we should trade for Keven Newman as well as Archer, we can move Newman to 2nd base. Of course the price goes up.

I like all our prospects so much I hate giving any of them away right now. I do like Archer, but I cant see any deal working. Maybe, just maybe Basabe for Archer.

Ok maybe, my understanding of the MLB market is off. Its a shame, paying players for that much will only drive up ticket prices. Im guessing a team can replace Anderson type numbers(his numbers so far), spend alot less, with a hungry minor leaguer or a trade.

It also might make him lazy. My expectations are higher for a guy making 9 mil. Again, unless he starts to become a better hitter and can post something like .270 .360 25HR and alot less K's. If Anderson keeps what he is doing now would it not be easy to find a player via trade or in the minors to put up his numbers?

And my point, why you dont sign a guy until he proves himself. Anderson is no way worth 7 and 9 mil he will be getting in 21 & 22 unless he improves his game, which I really do hope for.

Tim Anderson is one bad season away from being released. You cant hit .240 with 5 times as many strikeouts to walks and expect to be a full time player.

So you want to pour in 100 mil on a guy who hasnt played one Big League game? Would you have signed Moncada to this same deal? After all, he was a top 3 prospect. Lets say Moncada does comeback and have a better season. Lets say Moncada's best seasons(top 4) average are around .265 25HR 90 RBI but has 180 k's per season. Would you give him the same amount of money as Eloy? Lets say Eloy is better than Moncada and averages .295 30HR 100RBI but is groomed to strike out more than 170 times a year and walk 65. Would you sign him to that deal? All of these are IFS IFS IFS, there is no track record nad no gaurantee Moncada will get better or Eloy will produce. Do I believe in him, yes, but why not see what this talented young man can do and then sign him for the long term and spend millions.

But why would we take a risk on an unproven player especially with our organization promting hitters to hit .230 and K alot. Look what happened with Moncana. If Eloy proves himself, then give him the money. Meanwhile maybe some of that money can sign Rendon next season.

The stats look pretty good for Eloy in the minors although he has 310 K's to 117 walks. But why would a team pay that much money for a guy that hasnt proven anything in the Majors?

Ok well thats your opinion, but Id rather have any of those hitters than Machado. Machado is on line with Paul Goldschmidt who may be a top 20 hitter. Look at their stats they are very similiar. I can say Arenado is better than Machado, Story and Machado have very similar stats as well.
