  1. MB cares about the Sox and is giving his all to the Sox and to say that he isn't is absurd.

  3. lay off MB, the shoddy defense opened the doors and when MB had to start pressing to compenate for the mistakes behind him it just fed itself - eliminate those bad plays and the innings end before all the damage but the floodgates were opened - not a good game for MB but don't get all over him either - even the best have not so good games - ranting against a guy who has been good to us is not fair - we can just comment that it was not his night - I am damn frustrated and the MB bashing doesn't help my mood
  4. I am watching this game on MLB tv over the internet and that means as a hme game for the Twins I am getting twins broadcasters - makes it even worse to have to listen to them - :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou
  5. not MB's fault at al - the defense is responsible for this present situation
  6. how many errors can we make, but that one let two runs score - if I were MB, I'd sue the defense for non support
  7. since PK isn't playing, I am changing my PTC to Alomar
  8. Jason, I wanted to jump on that statemet and say not true and thgen I looked at the actually numbers: pathetic numbers Since I have acoc***ed for 21 tickets already this season, where is everyone else?
  9. Neither will marketing to the family True CK but you will get more singles to come to a place that is family firendly than you will families to a bar scene. We probably all agree that Rob Gallas does a lousy job at marketing. Families are where is at though is some ways - the kids who become Sox fans may be coming to the park for life. Those who come for the scene will only be there until the next trendy spot is found. The park has to be pitched as a fun palce for everyone - and do some select marketing to some select groups - and if not marketed as a bar scene but a place where eveyone can have fun - i.e. you don't bring your kids to watch young people throw up but those who want a few beers will have a fine time - that is what I was trying to say. The fan base needs to be as diverse as posible because no one slice of a demographic will be enough.
  10. there is a difference between "inaccurate" and "hasn't happened yet" as well as what was accurate when reported but then some circumstances may have changed
  11. when I went in 2001 to see the Sox play there, I hadn't been there in literally 30 years plus - and was amazed at how much I hated the place - it wasn't just my Sox bias memory, I really hate it - I do not think it is a great place to see a ball game - I felt crowded and cramped and too many seats just don;t have that good of a viewing perspective - and pillars do tend to get in the way - and I care about toilets because those are a part of life and time in and time out of them determines how much game I miss and how grossed out I may get I also missed the feeling of being outside two of the three games I was there in 2001. Under the stands kind of behind home plate in one game and in the upper deck with a roof for another - I don't like things being over my head at a game - at the Cell, I feel like I am outside, and I like that - I just felt cramped the entire time at Wrigley - Comerica does not have that cramped in feel at all, you know you are outside, same as the Cell - but Miller left me feeling I was inside a building too. I just really hated Wrigley Field. I saw my first ball game there - went there a lot as a kid since I ahd friends whose fathers played for the cubs - and my last ballgame with my grandfather was there (I cheered for the cards and vbroke his heart, but I could never cheer for the cubs even as a child) and I hated the place in my memories and I hated in 2001 and I haven't gotten tickets for a Sox game there since because I just don't want to go to Wrigley. And the lack of parking, the inadequte public transportation - just hated the whole thing.
  12. that would be my advice too - in fact I have read the old threads and some people may need them so they can check who were their prior PTCs and when because of the twice (or is it three times) in one week (or is it 7 days) rule for picking a PTC
  13. In my world, there is the AL and everything else is minor league. I would hope that the longest win streak in all of baseball belongs to Lane Tech or North Park College or the University of Michigan if not the White Sox -
  14. I have been to: Wrigley - which i really hate - small, cramped, dirty, and horrible ingress and egress and lines Miller - which was ok but the traffic was horrendous and the upper deck seats suck Tiger Stadium - which was boring Comerica - which is ok and I might like if I were Tiger fan but I am not
  15. why should he be benched? The more games Cleveland loses, the funnier I think it is! The more he screws up, the more I hope he plays for them. I would enjoy the Tribe finishing below the Tigers!
  16. there are no circumstances in which I wantg the Sox to lose any game. That is a mighty manufactured "if" you have there. What makes anyone think that KW will get fired because the Sox don't sweep a series? There is a big difference between what people want and what are the options in real life. If we go 0-3 against the Twins, will KW get fired for that? No. He will get fired for whatever reasons he will get fired, not because we win or lose any one game or series. If we all clap our hands, Tinkerbelle will live.
  17. I want the Sox to win every game. There are no circumstances in which i want the Sox tio lose a game.
  18. not if opne doles the math - the greatly added labor costs in the increased concessions and parklng lots isn't going to make up that gap - in fact, the added labor costs would make that gap even greater and the team would eb runniug huge losses - and since the park holds about 45,000, even to talk of 50,000 is too much that way so that figure is even lower - if we slash our income to be Tiger of Tampa Bay levels, our payroll will have to be significantly reduced - and if every seat last night were $1, you think that would have made that many more people there? Knowing what I pay for my split season and extra games, plus all my travel costs, I have no complaints about pricing. Simply, we need a winner. Back in 93 and 94 that place was crowded. And the real bounce always comes the year after - like in 1984 when we outdrew the Cubs although they won a division and we didn't -
  19. lets go low ball and say $20.00 a ticket for 12,000 at full prive - that is $240,000. 50,000 at $1 is $50,000. Which beats the heck out of the other? and: Monday is half price Tuesday is Pepsi $1 day Thursday is $1 hotdog Sunday kids get in for $1 if yoiu sign your kids up for Silver and Black Pack ($25) you get a gift and 6 free tickets to a game
  20. There is a huge difference between pitching the place as a place to get drunk, and saying that we have this super fine patio and outside area to enjoy the game and add to the experience. That was one of the best features of old Comiskey, under the leftstand grandstand - the picnic area.
  21. we go to twinkie ville with a 3 game win streak, tied with Boston for the longest current win streak in the AL at 3 - let's make it 6 - and then keep going from there -
  22. Just want to chime in here, in total agreement
  23. Thanks for the kind words on what I wrote, and yes, I have been described as humorless lately. But by vocation and personality, I tend to always want to focus on what is real. Not much of a ranter, I guess. Sorry.
