  1. If you really want Frank, I'd be where the line is at 8:30. The Sox do count the number of signers and will turn people away over the limit so if you really want Frank, you should get there as early as you can, because Frank will have a line. Show up early, what's the worst that can happen? Show up later, what's the worst that can happen? I am amazed sometimes how early some people get in line. So go for what you want.
  2. for Frank, it may be more like 75 minutes or more early

    Sox Fest

I am packing and I decided what to wear which may make it easy to find me - I will be wearing Italian soccer shirts, big Pirelli on the front and an Inter Milan patch, on the back, #32, and the name Vieri. I should stick out real well in those - and be very easy to find.

lots of guys there 6'0" all I can say is I'll ear the same sox scarf that Colon wears in one of the pictures that is posted in one of the sigs - cerb, one meeting time and place is Saturday 9am in the Hyatt restaurant for those having breakfast - HSC, baggio, and I will be there - I hope we can all find each other - once we start meeting each other, maybe we can come up with another time and place to re-meet as we find other people there and let them know the plans - will that stupid WSI board have a booth there? Maybe we can meet there and kick the s*** out of it as a group.

I'll be there Friday night throwing food to zach23 so that he does not attack me. I think - as well as the Sox jersey - I will wear a Sox scarf so that you may figure out it is me, there may be 10,000 people with Sox jerseys but as far as I know, only Colon and I havce Sox scarves and I am far skinner than he is zach, that picture does kind of look like you...
  7. that;s been a thought, but i dont want to seem like an annoying reporter if i meet anyone in the bar after word. And i'm sure as hell not standing in line for 3 hours to get an autograph. lol fair enough - see you Saturday (Friday and Sunday too?!
  8. good luck to Matthew, and a damn shame about the inability to broadcast from the Hyatt - going to tape any comments - interviews for broadcast?
  9. CredeFan, check this link: http://www.soxtalk.com/index.php?act=ST&f=2&t=59 here you join in blaming Clayton for problems on the boards. Everything is Clayton's fault! Hell, why go to war with Iraq? It is all Clayton's fault! Clayton traded for Clayton, Clayton made out the line-ups, Clayton called all the shots. On the other hand, for me, Royce is so 2002. This is 2003 and Clayton is ancient history.
  10. You took the words right out of my mouth (so to speak) - whatever RPS said, me too!
  11. My guess is Rauch. I think Honel is still 1-3 years away. I do not know enough about Loaiza to have an opinion.
  12. No one said he was a saint. I love how people respond to things that were never said. The Illinois Sports Authority situation more than pays for itself in terms of monies brought into the city. That is I believe the same motivation for the public funding for the remodeling of Soldier Field which is on the surface spending hundreds of millions as a place for the Bears to pay, thus benefiting the Bears ownership. I for one do not hope that JR sells soon or at all because of one very important caveat: to whom? To someone who wants to move the franchise or someone who would keep rhe Sox here? If you get your wish and JR sells the team soon to someone who re-locates the Sox, will that make you happy? If JR comes up with a buyer who is well funded and keeps the team in Chicago, then I would have a different opinion of whether JR should sell.
  13. And that is why, no matter how angry I get at JR, when I actually met him last May, in a situation where we had all the time in the world to chat, all I could do was to thank him for keeping the Sox in Chicago. At heart, bottom line, is he kept my Sox in Chicago when we easily could have lost them. YASNY - someone is going to post that the AL would never have allowed the Sox to move because they would want to keep a franchise here in the 3rd largest media market. And all I can to say to that is, yeah sure, just like the NFL would never allow the 2nd largest media market, LA, to be without an NFL team.
  14. Is Eddie DeBartolo still allowed to own an NFL team? I guess the answer is no and the reasons why that is a no make me very glad that he didn't buy the team. Under JR we have had four division championships (counting 1994) so it hasn't been that bad for us. Not as good as we would have liked, but not as bad as we complain about.
  15. if Manuel said that, I missed it.
  16. ok, please explain that one to me, I don't get it... damn it zach you know I am slow - I will call you Friday from the Hyatt so we can figure where to meat up
  17. Frank met with Evans the week precediing his signing thr re-done deal with the Sox. That much is fact, Frank met with the LA GM. There have been reports that LA offered a slight tad tiny bit more than the WS contract with Frank but Frank opted to stay with the WS. That is what I have heard but I am not vouching for that. All I know for sure is that Frank met with Evans and explored Frank going to the Dodgers.
  18. So what was the Letterman experience like? I have always wanted to go -
  19. Herbert always has a special plate in Sox lore for the 2000 season - I was sorry to see him go but as stated, we had to do the clearing of room for Crede - sometimes baseball's demands are harsh.

    Rap fashion alert!

yes, not that far from me, have family there?
  21. Ah CubKilla, you always cease to amaze me. But you did shed some light on something. The fact that you and your kind cannot debate your way out of a wet paper bag. You guys are just like Daver without the moderation power. So, f*** it. I've already been told that I should be shot dead here on these boards, and I don't need that s***. Take your warmongering, take your hatred, take your ignorance and go play with that because from now, I officially wash my hands of this s***. Ciao all. what???? you cannot leave, You've got firiends and allies and you hold your own well. Stay the course, we need you for your insights, for your baseball acumen, and your good looks and charm!
  22. ????????? I generally love your posts but this one I fail to understand the point. Nader took votes from the Dems. nader needed 5% for future government funding of his party's campaign, Dems had no stake in or desire for Nader getting to the 5% threshold.
  23. DoubleM23 and Cerbaho-WG speak for me tonight.
  24. let's run together... an all Italian ticket - is America ready?
  25. maybe we should have Eckerley at ST to do a seminar on not getting picked off - and we can show the KW pick off highlights on the scoreboard between innings" You call the play: KW on base, Eck on the mound, was it A. KW stole a base B. KW stayed on base to get driven in my a Sox batter C. KW gets picked off. If you answered C, you are correct!
