  1. interesting article, thanks for sharing I thought of several responses to various portions, all of them smart ass and decided to forego that for example: sounds like he is ready to come up, to me! would be something I might say but I won't. I think that we are in no rush
  2. its been 63 years - time for someone - Uribe - to to it again!
  3. that is an excellent point it is getting the players toughened up mentally and emotionally for the big games in the season - every time they get through a rough situation and win, will make it easier the next time and especially when it could really mean something
  4. I'll take what I can I have detested the Black Hawks all my life - Wirtz had his sell outs in the 50s and it was f*** you to the fans - letting Bobby Hull walk away - I live in a place where I fell in love with the in state team - the level of hockey fandom and hockey knowledge in this state is incredible - only time I ever wore nonSox gear to USCF was 2 years ago when the Wings won that Stanley Cup game in 18,000 overtimes every nonWings fan bashes the Wings for the team spending - which is a bulls*** agument really - if JR spent money the same way for the Sox and got the same results the bashers who are Sox fans would be orgasmic - these things go in cycles, I have seen dynasties come and go and bottom teams like the Wings rise up again and the current run of 3 in 8 (liked it more when it was 3 in 6) has been so much fun, in 96 and 97 as they were building up - I have so many Wings stories involving my friends, makes me smile - I had one frat boy delivery driver, Joe, at a sub shop I managed who had his earphones on whenever the Wings played - he'd make his subs, gather his orders, all without a word as he listened to the games and only delievered during breaks in the action so I sent him to frat houses and other places where I knew the game was on because they only wanted deliveries during the break in the action - everyone was happy, big tips abounded - then they got swept by New Jersey and it was crushing - but everyone got more determined for the next season. Wings tickets are tough to come by and the fan base is incredible and loyal and tomorrow everyone I see will be tired and talking about (aboot) the tough loss - that we are still this truly competitive 2 yars after the last Cup is a joy we didn't expect and Wings gear sells very well out here, redandwhite, you want a Wings shirt, I got one for you - We aren't crushed, just sad, and proud, and pray for Yzerman and trust the right reloading moves will be made; Calagary played well and it went their way in a cleanly skated series and its been a while for them even winning a series so the former Atlanta team is having theior glory tonight and we skate away proud after an overtime 1-0 loss without our leader. This series was as close as close can be (2 1-0 ot games, right?) and we'll be back and good luck to the Flames in the next round- will hey be getting the Avs or San Jose?
  5. so much jealousy very proud of the Wings - it was a very close series and the other team won - very proud of the Wings and praying Yzerman is ok
  6. came in fine here in western Michigan on ESPN and I was damn glad
  7. which one - this or the other?
  8. if not out of their minds, just a tad bit silly... No to Griffey now and forever I have 100 year old china more durable
  9. I won't argue that point but as long as I live I will remember the look of relief on Shingo's face
  10. yo Steve got any pictures of the 2003 scoreboard?

    Frank

agreed Frank's eye has been as flawless as humanly possible this year and once a big hitter hitter lays off every 3-0 pitch he is toast I trust Frank's instincts any time when he is at the plate
  12. that is an amazing height to be in the air
  13. no, Willie is not slumping and I like the Uribe-Harris combo a lot - that is our future
  14. A. lets not ever say that again out loud, that could be a jinx B. I didn't realize that -wow! thanks for sharing! C. I agree on no way we take Uribe out I have waited years for us to be defensively sound again
  15. Uribe made a great play - it was an awkwardly hit ball and he grabbed it and flipped to harris perfectly
  16. how did this one turn out? I never made the chat, I ahd the tv and was in the mood for a game thread and scoring keeps me from going crazy (like in the bottom of the 9th)
  17. I wasn't that convinced watching it on tv that it was going out - the trajectory wasn't right - but damned, damned close but I was looking for CLee to make the catch - check the game thread, I didn;t comment on that because it looked damned, damned close but out to me as I saw it on tv
  18. reality sucks life never gets better, it is always like this
