  1. Yeah, but i wouldnt say McBride is our most consistant shooter although he is labeled as a 3 point specialist. He's only played 7 games. Deron should be our sharp shooter, i think he'll start shooting like he did against Temple earlier in the year pretty soon, once he gets used to his mouth not being wired shut. I believe they are supposed to be cut in time before the Purdue game tomorrow. Go illini!
  2. Lol.. oh yeah... forgot about the cub killer garland.. we'll need him in late June against those north siders.. :fthecubs
  3. wow, that really sucks, i thought we had a good chance of getting ponson too... So what are we looking at here.... 1. Buerhle 2. Loaiza 3. Wright? 4. Cotts/Schoeneweis 5. Diaz What other starting pitchers are out there.... cause this isnt looking too good...
  4. I kept thinking that Astacio was going to be the next Pedro Martinez, but his injury problems are baffling. Not to mention he's getting shelled when he's out there, even away from Colorado.
  5. Maybe we should start a nickname thread, but i was thinking if Graig Grebeck was little hurt, then how about Miguel Olivo being Mini Caballo? Just a thought....
  6. Well, as long as its not a b**** and 3/4th's, Mo should be back by next year
  7. Did anyone happen to see Tim Browns interview on the NFL network about Callahan. He was saying that players wanted to take a swing at Callahan and how Callahan called his team names everyday in practice... This guy really wanted out of Oakland....
  8. Well, i dont know about that, Tampa Bay seems to have no problems with the Yankees and Boston in their division...
  9. as a reminder, his interview on abc is on right now....(9 central)
  10. Rams 24 Panthers 17 New England 13 Titans 10 Chiefs 28 Colts 27 (Vandy misses 45 yarder, 1st all year) Phily 24 Packers 21

    The future

Lol, thats pretty good.... Interesting that i have to write a future paper for my Humanites class coming up this semester, that just gave me a couple of ideas...
  12. The sox will be better against Detroit because Detroit is better? Me confused...although, i guess it kinda makes sense now that i think of the Sox
  13. Oh, and here are some details about him: Jamar Smith is a player that Illinois has been looking at for a while, but his name was not known in recruiting circles. He is a left-handed shooter with a quick elevation and quick release to his shot. Illinois offer came a week after Smith's strong showing in the Pekin Insurance Holiday Tournament. All-tournament choice Smith capped his four-game run with a 40-point outburst against Lake Zurich, in which he made a season-high five 3-point baskets.
  14. We just got an oral committment from Jamar Smith out of Peoria, 2 days after getting David Palmer from Tennessee. Both these guys are solid players and if Dee and Deron are still around in 2005, we should be damn good. Here's a link off of Illini Board if anyone wants to read it.... http://pjstar.com/sports/uofi/b1r1vrg7077.html Go Illini!
  15. Thats my point, MSU has sucked against weaker opponents as well, but im saying if Izzo gets their attention, and finally gets the team to gel as one unit, this team has possiblilities. There is a reason they were ranked #4 in the country, and that prediction was so bad, but you got to think they will come together eventually and put a run together against what is, a very bad big 10 slate this year. Tolbert and co. will get it together, and im confident with my 3rd place finish for MSU in the big 10. Go ILLINI!
  16. I heard on 1000 that Guillen wants Uribe to be our starting shortstop and Jose will do what he did 2 years ago and play a multitude of postions, including 2nd and center... so this report just confirms it.
  17. Right now, Wiscy and Illini are the favorites, but you cant forget Mich St. They had the toughest non conference schedule i think i have ever seen, so if they ever get on a roll, they might get the confidence they need. Winning on the road is still gonna be next to impossible, something about Big 10 arenas that make it impossible to play with crowd noise(Breslin, Kohl Center, both Assembly Halls, and Mackey Arena are the toughest). Long shots would be Purdue, Michigan and possibly Indiana, but they are absolutely struggling without George Leach as their rebounder/block man. I think at the end it will go 1. Illinois 2. Wisconsin 3. Mich St 4. Purdue 5. Michigan 6. Iowa 7. Ohio St 8. Minnesota 9. Indiana 10. Northwestern 11. Penn St The first 5 teams are my tourney teams as well, with Iowa and OSU just missing out... Go Illini!
  18. Lol.. oops.... it seemed like it was 9-9 from the field... i guess i read the box score backwards, but all his jumpers today were beautiful, i think the 3 that he made was the only one that barely curled in, he was damn solid today
  19. Good ol Cliff Polite eh.... the guy that served up Carlos's game winning 2 run homer in the bottom of the 8th back in May of last year.... I have the at bat on my computer, i bust it out every once in a while. Good times! Anyway, i think this is a solid pickup, Would have liked to grab Hawkins instead, but since the mangy cubs got him, Politte will have to do... We need to get Ponson dammit! Go Sox 2004 + #45!
  20. Nick Smith was butta again tonight, scoring a career high 22 points, as he was 6-6 from the field(touched the rim maybe once tonight, mostly all nylon) and 9-9 from the charity stripe! Hell of a game, Dee played awesome, except for a couple of shots where he rushed it, and even Brian Randle got into the action with one hell of an authortive left handed stuff on a great pass from Dee.... Next up: Purdue who probably isnt too happy starting their Big 10 season 0-1 after losing to Iowa tonight, but Big 10 road wins are hard to come by. GO ILLINI!
  21. Dupree was awesome for LSU, he was a 1st team SEC player if i recall.... Hopefully he keeps up this mad ballin!
  22. Yeah, for some reason i interrpreted "again" as multiple times .... Nick was definitly the MVP that game too, that steal was monsterous... Go Illini!
  23. Lol... again? Nick is stepping up very nicely after a rough start....
  24. NICK SMITH will be my player of the game for clutch free throws alone! (8-8 Today!!!) Deron came back and had a great game too, not bad to have an OT game b4 the big 10 season ILLINOIS WINS! GO ILLINI!
