Can any team that comes out of the AL Central this year be considered a juggernaut?

Kelly was at Schaumburg last year. Apparently Schaumburg was an extremely valuable experience for everyone who went there. Therefore Kelly should be succeeding the way Burger and Vaughn have.

i'm sure it had some value. Just not sure it was much. Guys like jared Kelley and Zach Burdi were at Schaumburg also and they are scuffling big time this year. Like most things in life, guys are likely getting back what they put in.

I'm a Vaughn guy and think he will end up as a pretty damn good mlb hitter. I'm not really sure what you are trying to argue here. If Vaughn is a truly elite bat like you keep repeating then I wouldn't expect him to struggle much at all. His advanced bat and eye should have him at much more than his current steamer projection of 1.1 war for the whole year. The Sox are trying to win a world series. They need more than a one win guy in left this year.

How much value can you put on Schaumburg? Some people seem to think Vaughn is the next coming of Kris Bryant. Vaughn hasn't hit enough to show that he is gonna be a superstar. Look at his numbers against right handed pitching and you are looking at a below replacement level player.

There is some blame for Friday I guess. You also aren't going to win many series when your leadoff man goes 2 for 11 and when your sluggers are grounding into multiple double plays.

And if Tony pitches them every other day and they continue to underperform then what is the excuse going to be?

It is crystal clear that the bullpen was overrated coming into the year. The Sox needed all the young guys to hit their ceiling and none of the veterans to regress. Guys like Foster, Marshall, and Ruiz are a dime a dozen. A well run organization should be able to fill these roles from their farm. Hendricks and Bummer have underperformed. These guys were supposed to be your elite lockdown options. They have not been that at all. Kopech has been the rock of the bullpen but we all know his future is in the starting rotation.

Crazy that we less than two months into the first year of Hendrick's contract and we are already looking for alternatives at closer.

Yep. Everyone giving Larussa shit but Hahn is the one who assembled this "elite" bullpen. Wah Wah. Bummer and Hendricks might have to pitch more than one inning or come in during "high pressure" situations. Its so unfair they are the only relievers in all of mlb who face challenges like that.
