I'm starting to think the best World Series match up would be Detroit vs. St. Louis. Mets have Glavine and that is it. For the Cards, Weaver is pitching well, Suppan can be solid, and while Carpenter struggled last night, he can easily turn it on. Detroit's staff could shut down or contain the Mets line up and rake on their starters, IMO.

Kenny Rogers was an average pitcher, and than he hit 40. It amazes me. And I'm not saying it tongue in cheek or anything.

A couple of nights ago, Steve Phillips said that if Detroit wins it all this year, it is more impressive because we didn't beat the Yankees. What a load of crap. We only beat the team that beat the Yankees.

Speaking of Stevenson, the annual Warren vs. Stevenson rivalry game is tomorrow night in Lincolnshire. Shameless plug, I will be broadcasting the game on 1220 AM in Lake County OR you can hear the game at www.wkrs.com as we are streaming online. Kick off around 7:30pm. Stevenson is easily the better team this year and Warren needs 1 win to get into the playoffs. If they don't do it this week they got Libertyville next week. Warren remembers last year as well.

But LaRussa is sticking to his guns and throwing Weaver in Game 1. What a joke. Of course if Weaver throws 6 shut out innings and St. Louis wins game 1, I'll delete my post.

This has been happening every week. I saw a sign a few weeks ago behind them that said "Corso Like Penis". All ESPN can do is monitor the signs before the broadcast.
