QUOTE(winodj @ Feb 3, 2005 -> 04:52 PM) Canada, as much as I love your bacon and beer, please keep the above "celebrities" within your borders. Celine Dion too. Love, winodj. No no you can have them. We'll even throw in Anne Murray!
  4. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Feb 3, 2005 -> 04:45 PM) No fooling, the cops are all about the campus bars...and some cops do have sympathy. Last year when I was 21, I was at a shindig one of my friends held for my b-day and walking home a cop saw me and after showing her my wallet and telling her I was going straight home (I was like a block/2 blocks away), she just let me go. Cops just stop you while your walking home and ask for id?
  5. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Feb 3, 2005 -> 04:44 PM) Like so many of your kind the violence is all that's important. Someone might as well just delete this thread.
  6. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Feb 3, 2005 -> 04:33 PM) So are you the score keeper for the number killed by insurgents? Whatever, I'm just going to post important news about Iraq in here. And I encourage others to do the same.
  7. I'm tired of making threads every day about how bad it's going so I'll just use one. Post-Election Violence Kills 28 in Iraq and election updates courtesy foxnews!

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Feb 3, 2005 -> 11:16 AM) Patriotism over price. Cost Trumps Patriotism in Flag Pin Flap OTTAWA (Reuters) - The next time a Canadian official hands you a lapel pin bearing an image of the country's maple leaf flag, take a closer look. That symbol of patriotism was likely made in China. Opposition legislator Charlie Angus attacked the Liberal government on Wednesday for ordering millions of "inferior quality" pins from a Chinese supplier rather than the Canadian factory that has been making them for 35 years. "They are selling off our cultural heritage like a bunch of roadside hucksters selling off hubcaps and velvet Elvis paintings," Angus told Parliament. Public Works Minister Scott Brison, whose department buys the pins, said the Chinese pins were cheaper. But this did not satisfy Angus, a member of the left-leaning New Democrats. "We're outsourcing the fundamental symbol of what Canada is to a foreign country. I think that's a scandal," he told reporters. Canadian officials and members of Parliament traditionally hand out the pins as presents. Transport Minister Jean Lapierre said that to demand maple leaf pins be made by Canadian suppliers was bad policy for a country so dependent on international trade. "I think we need to follow our procurement rules rather than falling into an existential crisis on this subject," he told reporters. I love this line The Liberals of Canada are being accused of everything right now, this is the least of their worries.
  11. QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 11:37 PM) Fox news uses morons like Sharpton to make conservatives look better... i really dislike the tactics that they use..... I think "fair and balanced" is one of their slogans.... they should be ashamed. To fuel your hate even further check out these clips http://www.outfoxed.org/clips_oreilly_best_qt.php http://www.outfoxed.org/clips_oreilly_lies_qt.php http://www.outfoxed.org/clips_trailer_qt.php Yeeeah! 12. How will they know how many people get their email?
  13. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 04:36 PM) Al Jazerra is nothing more than a mouthpiece for Islamic terrorists across the middle east. That's completely untrue and asinine as you put it earlier. Watch the movie and learn something damnit!

  15. QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 09:17 AM) To an extent? That's like saying Terrell Owens is conceited, to an extent. Just watch the movie, and if you still think that... cool.
  16. QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 01:08 AM) I'm sorry, but Al Jazeera cannot be taken seriously by anyone with half a lick of common sense. Why do you think that? They are obviously to an extent anti-American, but to an extent people in that region are as well. How is that much different from Fox News?
  17. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 12:08 AM) This is how. ( cut from the article ) I dont know how you could have missed that. I'm obviously not a very good skimmer. :headshake
  18. I don't even understand what he is saying? In what way are Victims of the World Trade Center similar to the Nazis?
  19. Well well well I have watched another movie today and I have found the documentary that should have got the most media attention in 2004, and it's not Super Size Me or Farenheit 9/11 it's Control Room. Plot "A chronicle which provides a rare window into the international perception of the Iraq War, courtesy of Al Jazeera, the Arab world's most popular news outlet. Roundly criticized by Cabinet members and Pentagon officials for reporting with a pro-Iraqi bias, and strongly condemned for frequently airing civilian causalities as well as footage of American POWs, the station has revealed (and continues to show the world) everything about the Iraq War that the Bush administration did not want it to see." ---courtesy imdb.com As this plot suggests the film is to an extent anti-Bush but not in the way Michael Moore is. This film takes the opinions of a group of people (3 main characters) and shows them to the audience, and lets the viewer decide what to make of them. Unfortunately 2 of the 3 are employees of Al Jazeera and therefore the film is not perfectly balanced but nonethless the opinions are not forced upon the viewer. This is a must see for anyone interested in what's going on with the Iraq war and sheds some light on some of the very interesting events of the early goings on in Iraq. If anyone has seen this what do they think about the section dedicated to the toppling of the Saddam statue? 9/10 http://www.controlroommovie.com/site/01.html trailer is on official site
  20. QUOTE(danman31 @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 10:00 PM) If you look at the slomo her color is off. She looks too defined while the basket is clearly blurred. Basically what I'm trying to say is that the lighting in the room she is in when they filmed this for the faking is much different from the lighting of the gym. She is too bright. I was thinking that the basketball net was edited in but the mesh of the net looks too real as she passes throught it.
  21. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 07:57 PM) Notice her reflection fails to appear off the backboard. Clear indication of a hoax. Although, as many of you pointed out, it's still nicely done. Umm I see a reflection here. http://www.aoox77.dsl.pipex.com/1/b1.gif
