Nick Johnson is far from mediocre. Maybe he's had some injury problems but he's got great patience and power at the plate, and is a good 1st baseman defensively. I think someone that says Johnson is overrated is wrong.

Two things. One, we have no reason and no money to acquire Rafael Palmeiro. Two, you all might be surprised that Daubach had the 6th highest OBP on our team last year. Our team was a very poor fit for Daubach as he got less than half the at-bats in all his other years. Good Luck Daubber!

I did some research on my own and he is in the same position as Carlos Lee and Mark Buehrle, not an unrestricted free agent. Not sure what it means but whitesox.com says he is eligible for arbitration.

Juan Uribe highting against lefthanders and Jose Valentin hitting against righthanders really isn't a bad combination. Also Uribe can always be a good late defensive replacement for Valentin.

There is nothing official about the Sox offering Eddie that. Just some guy wrote it.

Using saves to blowns saves stats to compare a middle reliever and a closer are 100% useless. They show nothing. Damaso Marte is a better pitcher plain and simple. Not taking anything away from Guardado though, he somehow usually gets the job done. This acquisition only makes sense if we traded Koch, so right now it is just a rumour.
