  1. QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 30, 2007 -> 12:42 PM) I don't mean Citizen Kane. I'm talking about A 15 year old giving a high rating for something like, "She's All That" or "Not Another Teen Movie." And low marks for something like "Memento" or other good movies. You're obviously not going to agree on all the ratings but the imdb ones are the best. I'm pretty sure they keep a secret formula in actually determing the rating they get. I doubt 15 year olds giving She's All That 10/10 even registers on the movie's rating.
  2. I've got to disagree. I liked the episode again last night. Absolutely loved the scene outside the hospital with the drug dealer guy and his goofy henchman set to Con Te Partiro. Then again, anything set to that song rules. I do feel that this thing could get Lost-like with all the mysteries, and if that keeps up I might get disinterested like I did with Lost. But I'll definitely be watching again this Sunday.
  3. QUOTE(dasox24 @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 10:59 PM) Oh, no doubt. She's definitely a "cougar"... Oh wow, brings back memories... I've actually watched a few episodes of Power Rangers on alluc.org in the last couple weeks. Good stuff. I hated Power Rangers when I was a kid. The bad guys would always be kicking ass until they decided to become super-big which gave the power rangers the excuse to became super-big. And once the power rangers combined into that giant robot thingy they were pretty much indestructible. Stupid bad guys.
  4. Watched The Bridge last night. I went out and rented, *cough torrent *cough spy, and thought it was pretty depressing. But I didn't really get much of a message out of it, and I didn't think it was particularly thought provoking.
  5. QUOTE(DonnyDevito @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 07:33 PM) Postponed WTF?
  6. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 07:45 AM) So what? IE, they beat the Russians this way and they know that they will beat the Americans this way too. It's just a matter of time.
  7. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 17, 2007 -> 05:50 PM) Well, we obviously WAY disagree... our very way of life, should the global "islamo-facists" take note of our "defeat", will have to change because they know that they can alter the way we do things by chipping away at our army. On that point, this is definitely America's war. They already knew they could do that with the Russians.
  8. QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 12:31 AM) I don't know, but when I was just flipping by, I think I saw Elisha Cuthbert. Is it her? If so, I might have to watch more of it no
  9. I liked tonight's episode. Seemed to have a better flow than last week's. Although last week I might still have been too flabbergasted by the Sopranos ending to pay full attention. I'm still a little weirded out by the loto winner and the hotel. I don't know what's going on there and that guys rambling.
  10. Yah I totally agree with Sepinwall on the Baccala quote. I'm amazed the amount of times I've seen the media misquote what he actually said.
  11. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 14, 2007 -> 02:53 PM) I understand, I really do. But I think history (if the politicians would get their collective heads out of their asses and finish things the right way) would vindicate Bush on Iraq. Based on what we "knew", it was the right thing to do, WMD's or not. And Gore would never say he changes his mind on Hussein, he'd pull a Hillary. That's the problem with these (village) idiots. No it was always a dumb idea.
  12. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 02:53 PM) BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT!!! IT'S DIFFERENT! Once a hypocritical d'bag, always a hypocritical d'bag. Well didn't Clinton and him bomb the s*** out of Iraq?
  13. QUOTE(Y2HH @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 08:45 AM) How so? Are you seriously asking that? And maybe it's you that doesn't know much about David Chase, or anyone else that likes money in the world. Seriously, I cannot believe you made that statement...it's just so beyond arrogant. Yea...and you're David Chase's best friend, right?! I guarantee Chase likes money...or he wouldn't have kept stretching the show as HBO request he do. How so because Sopranos was meant to be 3 seasons, NOT 6. It was S T R E T C H E D! Why was it stretched? Money. Ratings. Seriously, I know the episodes that CHASE wrote or co-worte have a LOT of good stuff in them, I'm not saying they don't...but don't for a second think it wasn't money driven. Chase never wanted the show to go on this long, neither did a lot of the actors. But...money talks. And BS excuses walk. Yah, Chase probably didn't want to go this long but whatever, and thank heavens for capitalism because I sure am happy that the show went 6 instead of 3.
  14. Chase interview with Sepinwall http://blog.nj.com/alltv/2007/06/david_chase_speaks.html
  15. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 10:26 PM) I like open endings in general, but that was a little too abrupt. I needed another line of dialog with meadow at the table -- and it didn't have to be of any significance -- pan back, fade to black. Agreed, I don't think the whole feeling would have been ruined had the music and picture faded away instead of the abrupt ending. I have to question it when it makes everyone think their cable went out. But the strange end seems to be some kind of attempt to cement the Sopranos legacy or something. And I figure with a lot of serious people comparing his work to SHAKESPEARE I'll let David Chase get away with this one.
  16. David Chase done any media since the last episode?
  17. Can't say I loved it, but I certainly didn't hate it.
  18. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 10:11 AM) Just read this somewhere.... Remember when he was speaking with Bobby...basically > saying that you don't see it coming? > > So here is what I found out. The guy at the bar is > also credited as Nikki Leotardo. The same actor > played him in the first part of season 6 during a > brief sit down concerning the future of Vito. That > wasn't that long ago. Apparently, he is the nephew of > Phil. Phil's brother Nikki Senior was killed in 1976 > in a car accident. Absolutely Genius!!!! David Chase > is truly rewarding the true fans who pay attention to > detail. > > If you pay attention to the history, you will find that all > the answers lie in the characters in the restaurant. > The trucker was the brother of the guy who was robbed > by Christopher in Season 2. Remember the DVD players? > The trucker had to identify the body. The boy scouts > were in the train store and the brothas at the end > were the ones who tried to kill Tony and only clipped > him in the ear (was that season 2 or 3?). > > Absolutely incredible!!!! There were three people in > the restaurant who had reason to kill Tony and then > it just ends. This was Chase's way of proving that he > will not escape his past. It will not go on forever > despite that he would like it to "don't stop". Not > the fans!!! Tony would like it to keep going but just > as we have to say goodbye, so does he. Sounds like bs to me.
  19. Not that it really matters but interestingly the early media reaction is positive.
  20. I thought it was a great episode and there was so much tension at the end I could barely stand it. Then the abrupt end. Only The Sopranos could get away with an ending like that. Not sure what to make of it. I thought my cable had just f'ed up.
  21. Here's some promo photos from the season finale. Not really spoilers but sort of gives some clues. Looks like Uncle Junior's going to be in the last episode. And I'm wondering why AJ is all dirty. Also a little weird how Paulie and Tony could be relaxing outside of Satriale's. http://www.lbracco.com/sopranos6bepisodes.htm#09
