And for you people who have never seen Love Stinks...and I would say that's about 99.9% of you. Rent it. It's with French Stewert...whom I never liked, but I laughed pretty good at this movie. Not so much of the intellectual humor though...

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 10:36 AM) OK, I'll just admit it off the top. I was stupid and bored at work last week and downloaded "gamevance" to get some silly duckhunting game. Wellity wellity, it has put a program that gives occasional pop-ups and search links on text on sites. Luckily it didn't spread and it's not overly annoying or porno or anything. However, when I found it in my programs and tried to move it into the recycle it says access is denied, check if its running or read only or something. Bottom line, anyone have any suggestions on how to get it off my computer. Thanks in advance First things first remove the game...from your add remove programs

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 12:13 PM) Something for folks to consider, which is sometimes forgotten in these discussions about keeping or getting rid of players... KW's job is actually not to put the best team on the field. His job is to put the team on the field that puts the most butts in the seats. Now, it happens to be that putting the best players on the field generally leads to the most wins, and most wins generally leads to butts in the seats. But having the "best" players at each position is not in itself the entire story of his job. Why is this important? Two reasons. One, sometimes, the right player for the team isn't necessarily the best player individually. And two, certain players are particularly loved or loathed by the fan base, beyond what their play on the field may indicate. Joe Crede is a HUGE fan favorite, and I guarantee you that will come into play in considerations of future contracts. Yeah have to disagree....Aaron Rowand is your perfect example. IMO, Kenny's job is to put the best team on the field. Of course, you want good character guys, but I don't think you sacrifice talent for that.

QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 11:06 AM) I can see why they picked Megan. She's an "It" girl now. I would of gone with Scarlett. I don't really get the infatuation with Scarlett. Besides the nice authentic physical attributes..she's just not that good looking to me.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 10:50 AM) Huh? Devin Hester threw out the first pitch to Buehrle. When Buehrle ran up to Hester for the handshake he did a little juke spin and went right around him.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 09:08 AM) I read an article this morning (can't remember where) in which Ozzie basically came out and said that he had a bad game manager-wise last night. You know he wasn't talking about Anderson when he said that.... "Today, I want to thank my players to come out and win because I think that's the worst day I ever managed by gut feeling," Guillen said. "I let Cabrera hit the home run with a lefty up [in the bullpen]. "After that happened, you kick yourself in the butt. But this kid was throwing the ball well and just didn't get it done there."

QUOTE (Fotop @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 09:06 AM) Obviously I'm quite pleased we won last night, however I was just curious what everyone thought of how Ozzie managed the game in the late innings (especially the defensive replacements). I was at the game, so I didn't see everyone's reactions here, but here were my thoughts: The scenario in question is I believe what was either the 7th or 8th inning in which Ramirez was moved to center, Uribe brought in to play 2nd, and Swisher to RF. I understand Dye was hurt, but does Ozzie REALLY have it out for Anderson this much that he won't even put him in as a defensive replacement? Secondly, why the heck do you put Uribe in Dye's batting spot in a tight game that could potentially go to extra innings? This bothered me as much as the defensive replacements... If he were to do it again, I would have liked to see the following: 1) Sub Uribe for ramirez if you want the added defense at 2nd. Realize that Uribe would lead off the bottom half of that inning, but its a sacrifice you make if you believe his defense will make a difference. 2) Sub Anderson for Dye, shift Swisher to RF, put Anderson in CF. Granted, Konerko still lacks protection if the game goes to extras...but it's much better than having Uribe (who is easily our worst hitter currently on the team) hit behind him. Improve your defense in both CF and RF. Seemed pretty simple to me. Just curious why it was carried out in such an odd manner. Thoughts? I actually didn't see the end of the game, but this morning I read that Dye got hurt and then I checked the box score and saw that Uribe had an AB. So I figured they moved Alexei to the outfield and just shook my head. The funny thing is how Ozzie went off on a little rant about the value of Uribe yesterday and how he values defense so much. yeah, but then you leave your best Def outfielder on the bench in close games all the time?? I don't bash Oz a lot, mainly cause I hate second guessing people, but yes the man does a lot of things that confuse the hell out of me.

Anyway...I thought she would be a big star...hasn't really been in anything except Entourage recently. Good to see her get some recognition. Maybe she'll be in more movies for me. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 02:41 PM) Oh take it easy. It was obviously a joke. I think she's just pointing out that if everyone that wanted to come in here and make a bad joke did so(and some of us are using more restraint than others BTW), that would kinda ruin the reason for this thread in the first place.

What else are you going to use if you don't have a gun? I don't know a baseball bat? Honestly...I'd shut the f***in door, block the bottom of it and call the po po. Be like I heard someone 'rattling' around in my office? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 11:05 PM) With that being said, I have to admit the thought of running has run through my head more than once. I think I have some good ideas and I am very centrist (a little form the left, a little from the right). But, I dont think I am in any way qualified nor do I have the connections or route to do so. The last thing I want to do is hijack this thread, but when I read your posts 'a little from the right' or 'centrist' is not even close to what comes out. I dont mean that as demeaning either...diff strokes for diff folks. I just would never take you for a centrist and am curious what views you hold that makes you think you are.

QUOTE (BobDylan @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 04:41 PM) I'd say the reverse. If this movie is even listed, the system is out of whack. It's nothing more than a popcorn movie. It's a movie that made me spit my popcorn all over the place...multiple times. While The Graduate is a good film and made me chuckle at times....I see it more as a drama. It just didn't make me crack up and this was a top funniest movie list.

Now It's Personal -O.Cabrera Vs Renteria

QUOTE (hammerhead johnson @ Apr 22, 2008 -> 01:08 PM) Word. Reading is fundamental. Yeah , but even though hawkfan probably wasn't referencing this, the article does allude to OC having the same 'characteristics' of his father But not long after that, Red Sox management decided that the free agent was no longer in their plans. There were rumors that Cabrera partied too much, according to a source close to the organization. (Orlando's second wife, Katie, whom he met the following year, while with the Angels, says her husband leads a much tamer life these days.) -
