I have 1 Sox hat (the 1926 crossed sox replica) and 2 jerseys (one signed Thomas that never gets worn) and that's all I have. Doesn't make me any more or less of a fan.

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 08:11 PM) He should have run. The Angels pitchers are too good for us to try and string together hits on. Yeah, It's not like Pods is 1-for-his-last 12 or something like that trying to steal second. -

Yeah. This is the first time this has ever happened! They should be played on alternate days so that when both series go 7 games the LCS' take 2 weeks

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 07:09 PM) I think they'll bury IU this weekend and yes, they will cover. Although I think on the most part If I were a gambler I would take the underdog whenever a lot of points are involved cause Ferentz isn't one to run up the score. Once he's up by 3 td's he does his best to start running the heck out of the ball. So sometimes Iowa can totally dominate but a team can get a late score and make it close on the scoreboard (well relatively close). That's actually what he did in West Lafayette. Iowa had less than 50 rushing yards at the half. -- Young finished with like 160. -

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 07:04 PM) Ozzie used my advice from last night. He had all of our guys practice bunting. Podsednik laid down 70+ sac bunts in practice. According to the pregame, he aslo practices sliding headfirst into second base wearing a Superman cape. -

OK, I TIVO'd the replay of the PU/Iowa game last night, and I just watched most of it again. -- I was probably a little harsh. On each of Purdue's 3-and-outs somebody on the D-line made a good play that lead dierectly to the short drive. -- I would just like to see some more consistency, and continued improvement out of that bunch. -

QUOTE(Brian @ May 22, 2005 -> 03:23 PM) Brien is NOT the answer. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ May 22, 2005 -> 04:14 PM) Edinger made 68% of his FGs the last 2 seasons.... Any think the bears are actually going to put up a better % than that next season? Word. Brien = Toast

QUOTE(3E8 @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 05:36 PM) Think we can trick Sabean into trading us Winn for Podsednik? He's better defensively too.

QUOTE(Randar68 @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 05:29 PM) Wait, dump Pods, don't sign Uribe, and look for a real LF'er? Who is going to lead-off? Maybe you missed the part of the season where the Sox played the best baseball in the majors, you know, the part where they had a legit leadoff hitter who got on and stole a crap-load of bases... Sheesh, your plan has us looking like the 2001-2004 teams except without the power. That worked SOOOOO well. And we replace this leadoff how? With Uribe? Rowand? Dye? Come on, what's the solution there? Well yeah, speed never slumps....

Not a tough call at all. KneeCap Podsednik Use the $5M to find a real left fielder.

QUOTE(BlackBetsy @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 04:16 PM) Furcal's #1 comp is...Jimmy Rollins. Hence why I used the $9M a year figure. He's goign to get Rollins type money, if not more. -- Also comp #2 is Lugo. I just like to point that out to people who somehow think Furcal is a savior. -- Lugo is essentially the same player, and nobody thinks he's the answer. If Juan can stay consistent for a full season, he's a huge asset to this team.

CoughJulioLugoCough Furcal - 9M/yr Lugo - 4M/yr Lugo's #1 player comp? - Rafael Furcal

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 01:23 PM) Whats that Sound? Its the Sound of juggernaut repeatedly trying to get into long drawn out fights over opinions of the way things go. It sounds kind of like this I'm pretty sure this song is on that record.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 12:09 AM) Yes, please. More hit-and-runs and less straight steals. By the way, someone needs to tell Pierzynski that he's the second slowest guy on the team. I hope to God that was a botched hit-and-run and not him going on his own. :puke Ozzie says it was a straight steal

QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 11:53 PM) As the founder of OMIT TIMO, I would have loved to see him bat for Crede. However, Crede has been clutch this year, so I understand why he batted. I'd also rather see anyone else on the team besides Pods bat after the 6th inning. What, you don't like his .220/.264/.244 in Close and Late situations? Before the ALDS, I was very upset about the lack of a right handed bat off the bench to replace Pods/AJ/Everett -- That won't be an issue this series (for Ozzie at least) as the only LHP on the Angels staff is Washburn.
