  1. Last 2 season's Deadline type deals Turned Bobby Howry plus prospects into Jurassic Carl Turns D'angelo Jimenez and Glover into Schoenweiss Still has Diaz, Pacheco, Meaux, and Adkins. Overall in the deadline type deals KW has done quite well.
  2. The only other game that starts at 7CST is Pit@Hou. So ESPN didn't have many to choose from.
  3. Maybe he could "Wally Pip" Danny Wright.
  4. I wonder if he used his P-P-P-Powerbook to send it.
  5. Here's two consecutive starts from Andy Pettitte's rookie year. PITCHING New York Yankees IP H HR R ER BB K Pettitte L(6-7) 0.2 8 0 6 6 0 2 PITCHING New York Yankees IP H HR R ER BB K Pettitte L(6-8) 2.2 5 1 6 6 5 1
  6. I'm not sure about what. For the most part earned runs/ ERA isn't exactly the best way to judge a pitcher? Runs/RA need to be taken into account, as it's the pitchers job to prevent runs from scoring, regardless of defense?
  7. He was young Gun -- Mommy left him at home alone with the computer today... 190 posts today alone.
  8. Roy Halladay's 5th start. PITCHING Toronto Blue Jays IP H HR R ER BB K Halladay L(2-1) 2.1 9 2 11 11 3 1 Tom Glavine's 1st start PITCHING Atlanta Braves IP H HR R ER BB K Glavine L(0-1) 3.2 10 0 6 6 5 1
  9. Congratulations. You now have the top 13 responses in Pale Hose talk. RetroSheet.org
  10. Jamie Moyers second start. PITCHING Chicago Cubs IP H HR R ER BB K Moyer L(1-1) 2.2 7 2 6 6 1 3 Jaime Moyer's 4th start PITCHING Chicago Cubs IP H HR R ER BB K Moyer L(1-2) 0.2 4 0 5 3 1 0 Jamie Moyer's 8th start Chicago Cubs IP H HR R ER BB K Moyer L(3-3) 1.1 7 1 7 7 2 1 Interesting because Moyer has never had a dominant fastball. Munoz will never have a dominant fastball. There is a steep learning Curve. These starts were from Moyer's rookie year at 23 years old.
  11. He allowed 8 consecutive runners to reach base. But occurring after he had recorded the second out, those are "unearned" He still would have faced those guys the next inning.
  12. Here's a couple of meltdowns by a 29 year old David Wells. Toronto Blue Jays IP H HR R ER BB K Wells L(3-3) 2.2 7 0 9 1 2 3 PITCHING Toronto Blue Jays IP H HR R ER BB K Wells L(7-7) 4.1 11 1 13 13 4 1
  13. Check out the line from a 24 year old Joe Nathan start. PITCHING San Francisco Giants IP H HR R ER BB K Nathan L(2-1) 2.2 9 2 12 10 4 3 Munoz is 21 and in that was his Major League debut. I'm combing Retro Sheet looking for comparable first starts.
  14. Props to BMAC... He'll get the call once things with the new guys get sorted out.
  15. I was gonna put this in palehose Talk. Wrong window. If a mod wants to move it. Thanks.
  16. Of the 210 (confirmed) times the hidden ball trick has actually worked, in the history of baseball, our Beloved manager, Ozzie Guillen, has been on the wrong end of the trick 3 times, more than 1% of all of the times the hidden ball trick has occured in all of baseball history. :headshake http://www.retrosheet.org/hidden.htm He also has unconfirmed pulled off the hidden ball trick sucessfully two times. If you know of a game where this happened, email Retro Sheet.
  17. I've got to agree with that. Two other things working for him. In most of his starts at Charlotte, he only went about 5 innings. His last two, he has worked deep into the game. He's going to want to Shove his performance up KW's ass. He's been a guy who's thrown well under pressure before. In the Olympics, he was arguably better than Sheets, though Sheets Gold-Medal game performance gives him the nod. I think he's got something to prove, and he should finally produce.
  18. KW's just fine. Other GM's aren't willing to trade big name guys just yet. He'll do fine and not overpay. Turned Bobby Howry plus prospects into Jurassic Carl Turns D'angelo Jimenez and Glover into Schoenweiss Still has Diaz, Pacheco, Meaux, and Adkins. Overall in the deadline type deals KW has done quite well.
  19. It's Fat Tire. Jim has mentioned it when we were on the west Coast swing. It's my favorite beer. Sadly I haven't had any since last July.
  20. Not like anyone cares, except me, but here's the trades specifics. Florida has not gotten any production out of Neu, who's older than Garland(just had to point that out) -- He's only played in 7 games between AAA and the show. Also... That Kotsay/Hernandez,Long deal was done on November, 26th. How about this deal by BB. I can't find any info on Bret-- So I assume he doesn't exsist - Beane is a genious Price is 4-4 with a 3.92 ERA in the Florida State League. Barrett has been a huge surprise on the northside. 200AB's-.305AVG,.505SLG,.353OBP Miller has done well also. 169AB's - .284BA/.444SLG/.344OBP
  21. Actually it was his leg. Achilles to be exact. /memory is coming back slowly.
  22. I typed Lidle, but I was thinking Lilly when I was referring to RH vs LH. Was Lilly a FA this past off season, cuz I'm sure I would have wanted him. I've always thought he was underrated. I don't remember, and now I'm confused with the whole Lidle/Lilly thing. We didn't get redman cuz, As I recall(and we've proved my memory is a little fuzzy) he was the FIRST free agent signed this off-season. Billy Beane targetted and got the guy he wanted to solidify his staff. I was never really on the "konerko for Perez" train. I thought that KW showed some great restraint not to overpay just for the sake of making a move.
  23. It's sad to think how little it would have taken to get one more guy in the offseason. I'm not talking about marquee guys either. Names that I wanted are all performing well. Redman. Rogers. Lidle. Batista. I Figured we stayed away from the first three cuz we didn't want another lefty, but not even going after batisa in the off-season really hurt.
  24. Didn't read rules. Don't care.. But this needs to be seen. Billy the Marlin.
