He's the only lefty bat with pop in the line-up. He's the most underrated player on the Sox.

The point is it's not about the money. It's 1.75 MIL at the Most. But that doesn't matter. It's more likely about 1 MIL even in savings, But that doesn't matter. It's addition by subtraction. Just the fact that we were able to get rid of that chump is amazing. I would have paid all of his salary to play for another team. Plus it likely means there's more deals in the works on the immediate horizon.
-
First of all you math is flawed because we've already paid about 1/3 of his contract already this year. Secondly according to the link posted above, the sox are picking up "more than half" of the remaining 3.75 MIL. The only real "saving" we get by this trade is in the 9th inning of games with SHINGO!!!!!!!

This thread from a marlins board is hilarious. They actually like this trade. http://www.marlinbaseball.com/forums/index...showtopic=20951

Nobody gets the spot tomorrow. We'll play a man short. Saturday Munoz will get it. After that, who knows? I expect more shake-ups.

How many stadiums have you been to?
Gene Honda Civic replied to redandwhite's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I was just including other major league baseball venues. I don't think I could remember all of the other venues I've been to. There's too many to name. (college football, pro football, college basketball, Pro basketball, Hockey) There's a ton a Minor League baseball parks too. -

Missed the Metrodome, I was thinking about Baseball games I've been to. But I've been to a Bears-Vikes game in the Humpdome. -
They haven't announced because they don't have too. They never actually announced last week either, and becasue of a thursday night rainout, they didn't have to use the 5th spot. There's nothing for the sox to gain by announcing the TBA early. The same could happen tonight. It rains a lot in miami. The could feasably be another rainout, and a 5th isn't needed for almiost another week.

Munoz likely goes to the pen. Another nasty lefty is a good thing to have. One of the other call-ups would be sent back down. (Dransfeldt, Burke) The 40 man roster wouldn't have to be messed with because I think there are only 39 actually listed on the roster right now. And we would likely lose a roster player(or two) in a trade anyways.

You need your eyes checked. I've run out of fingers and toes for the number of times I've seen Timo doggin' it. Sure he's been clutch, but how about running hard to first base? How about running hard to a flyball in the gap? How about using two hands to make a catch? These are the little things I'd expect to see a guy who wants playing time do. I haven't seen it. /can't believe I just defended Jeckle.

That depends. Are there foul poles?

If only someone was smart enough to suggest a Joe Borchard call-up. 2-4 today w/ a HR.

Just a note to everyone. don't be afraid to visit the Futuresox forum. We post links and boxscores to every game. Discuss who going well, who's scuffling. Who's doe for a promotion. A call-up. Plenty of good stuff over there about the draft. It's quickly becoming my favorite part of this board.
