  1. They should move to the NL -- They're 11-1 vs. the NL.
  2. Koch's Florida stats 3IP 3ER 4H 0BB 9.00ERA 1.33WHIP He has improved. No walks. A respectable WHIP. Still glad to see him gone. Can't wait to read the quotes in the papers in the morning. There we no Koch quotables in the MLB article.
  3. I did too. Last week. but now for the next week we're at home, which means Frank and Konerko are both in the Line-up. The outfield is producing reasonbly well. He wasn't called up for the games vs. the National leauge. He's not going to be called up at all. Ozzie loves timo. KW's comments about JB not going anywhere were just posturing to increase his trade value. JB will not be with the sox organization after the trade deadline. I wish him the best.
  4. Some of Ozzies decisions lately have been questionable. But it's really easy to make that call after the game, and result of those decisions are appearent. There's no reason to relieve Garland before the 9th. He had a one hitter going, and had gone 1-2-3 in 7 of the 8 innings so far. Don't give me bulls*** about pitchcouts. In that situation, JG didn't care how many pitches he had thrown. He wanted the win, the only way he could get it was by getting through the 9th. Ozzie wanted him to get the win. The team wanted him to get the win. You wanted him to get the win. He deserved the win. Maybe Ozzie should have had the bullpen up incase Garland got in trouble in the 9th. But Garland didn't get in trouble. He retired the first batter, and the second should have been out easily at first. JG had shown nothing to indicate that he wouldn't be able to get the next two out, after the "double".
  5. I really wish that Rex would have seen the game. I haven't seen any of Munoz this year prior to last night, but I'm sure that he wasn't using the same dilivery that he was at B'ham.
  6. Do we really need a separate thread every day, 24 hours ahead of time, to remind us that there is a chatroom?
  7. I think Jeckle's 4 "should of"s in this thread speak volumes to that. "Should of" is just painful to read.
  8. The only way it makes sense though is if KW already has another deal in the works for a Top starter. That is a much bigger need for us, and Rauch is a good chip to have in that poker game.
  9. There's no other manager in baseball who would have let that happen. No Manager would have let a kid making his ML debut face a guy who's already homered in the inning the second time in the same inning with the bases loaded. Ozzie sacrificed Munoz today. He made him take one for the team. Too bad the team actually had some life in it to make a great comeback. Only Oaklands bullpen has been used less than ours. We're the only team in baseball without a guy from the bullpen who hasn't thrown 30IP yet. There's no reason for that. The starting pitching hasn't been THAT good. Ozzies first day on the job set the tone. He overmanaged and we blew the game. Since then he has undermanaged, and sought to instill "confidence" in his pitchers by getting them shellacked to spare the pen. Don't quote Munoz's line to make a point. There's not one single manager, outside the southside of Chicago, who would have allowed that line.
  10. Agreed. The "interview" with rock was great baseball broadcasting.

  12. This is the most ridiculous statement I have ever heard. I'm not a pitcher. Or a pitching coach. But I was sitting at a bar during the first inning, and I knew it was going to be a long night. It has nothing to do with his stuff. You don't need to throw 99 to get guys out. You DO have to be able to locate the plate. Something Munoz has always had some trouble with. Today was different though. Again I'm not a Pitcher, or a pitching coach, but I could see the he was not keeping the ball down. His upper body seemed to be behind the pitches. He wasn't throwing DOWN to the batter. I don't know the specific mechanics of it, but I could see that he wasn't quite right. I'm sure that coop noted and said something. I'm sure Sandy noted and said something. He wasn't in the state of mind where telling him to fix part of his delivery was going to help. Look at what happened to the 1 pitch Cotts got elevated. If you can't keep the ball down, and at the edges of the plate in the major leagues, you're going to get hammered. You've seen him pitch for 3 innings and you're writing him off for good. :headshake Baseball is a game of inches, and if you were as good of a judge of talent as you think you are, you'd have a job in the business.

  14. Damn -- I've only gotten over 2000 twice. I'm always cutting it too close to trees and elepahants.
  15. Donnie Darko's Jena Malone looks frickin cute. Also, New Adventures in Hi-Fi = Highly underrated
  16. The ERA adds up to 9.00 -- MLB is cookin' the books.
  17. actually I beleive his pitching has shown just the opposite. I think he'll make a better starter than a reliever. -- though right now his role is in the BP. He has become comfortable. His last three ER have come at the hands of BK and Thriller not being able to get the job done behind him. Earlier in the season ozzie had more confidence in him to get himself out of jams, but ever since the start, he hasn't been allowed to work with men on base. He is pulled as soon as he allows a baserunner. He has, for the most part this season, done a reasonable job out of the pen. He has been exceptional with other peoples baserunners. He tends to be too careful early in an inning when no one is on base. I'd like to see ozzie give him a little more leway(sp?). He's had a few unfortunate outings (Toronto, Minnesota, Oakland), But as a young guy he's needs ozzie to instill a little confidence in him again. Let him work himself out of a jam. Today would have been a perfect day. He retired 4 of the 5 he faced, but Ozzie brought in thriller with 1 out and a 4 run lead. Thriller promptly gave up a single and was pulled, so that Marte could get the save, but there was no reason to burn both of them in that inning.
  18. Koch's main problem wasn't velocity, it was the inability to get the breaking ball over. His control was still wild when he was in the low 90's. He doesn't have the FB to blow people away anymore, so he needs that other pitch to keep the hitters off-balance.
  19. We saw 5.1 innings of it on Thurday. Maybe we should have given you Koch before the game, then we would have won.
  20. He should get roasted like Jon Rocker was. He won't. So much for playing the race card Barry. "Roger Clemens doesn't have to go on road trips. I can't do that cuz I'm black" "Boston is too racist" Barry is steroid-abusing cry baby, who doesn't play fair, but wants others to cow-tow to him -- NOT ME :fyou Barry
