  1. Kolb gets three groundouts, 1-2-3 ninth --- how nice is that?
  2. It's Kolb -- Vlad, Guillen, and MOndesi due up.
  3. Milwaukee has struck out 26 times Jenkins 0-7 6K's Grieve 0-6 5K's Obervay 1-7 4K's Ginter 0-7 4 K's -------------------- Milwaukee scores as I type. Podsednik doubles in a run, 1-0 Milwaukee.
  4. I would love to go to a game like that -- Every AB means so much.
  5. Pitchers have to properly warm up to some in and be effective. Niether marte nor Shingo were before the game became a save situation. There's your answer. There's no reason the game should have ever gotten to that point. But you don't need to burn your best relievers to get 3 outs while up six runs. If politte had let a couple reach base, Marte or Shingo would have been called on as soon as they were ready. I suspect that Ozzie would have made a mound visit to stall for time if one batter was able to reach. This is a total non-issue.
  6. I'm not being hard on the guy, he just didn't have it on a night when he needed to. In fact he made it to the 7th not the 6th as I had thought, but couldn't get anyone out that inning (8 runs crossed the plate, 6 charged to Diaz). The point I was making was that he sealed his fate with that outing in Charlotte, not his performaces with the sox.
  7. http://lists.mlb.com/u/477122/13420392 couldn't get the thing to download right, but here it is. If you right-click, copy shortcut. Then open Windows Media Player. Goto File>Open URL, right click in the text box, paste. hit enter. you can play it over and over again. May require WMP version 9.0 ------------------------ I was able to download it from the main page on Chisox.com.
  8. Read the post above yours. There is no major league team in Charlotte.
  9. I was refering to his last outing in Charlotte. 5IP 8ER
  10. Diaz got f***ing schellacked(who knows how to spell that word. ) in his last outing. He lost his chance to come back up then.
  11. That doesn't make sense based on the sox move this past week. Wunch is now off of the 40-man roster. He was outrighted to charlotte. There is still an empty spot, but I assumed that was to make room for another move that is looming on the horizon.
  12. I can't find it -- I think I may have posted it at WSI instead. But even though Reed only batted about .250 for the month of May, his OBP was above .450 and his BB/K ratio was about 2.5:1. --
  13. was perusing the MILB site and found a link to this. Promotions that the rookie ball team in Great Falls will be conducting this year.
  14. see mark bellhorn. -- you don't need a ton of power to get walks. ----------------- Reed's walk rate. 41 walks in 222AB's in High A last year 29 walks in 242AB's in AA last year 31 walks in 215AB's in AAA this year. He has plate discipline. and all of those add over .100 points to his OBP at every stop.
  15. cubs game at the same time on the north side
  16. When Reed hit the majors, he will eventually become right around a .300 hitter, with an OBP of at least .400. He has as great eye. Only in the first few weeks of this season, when he was batting around. 375 was he not walking much. He projects to be the PERFECT #2 hitter. I haven't seen his ability to bunt, or hit situationally, but his numbers tell me that the #2 spot will be his place in the lineup for some time.
  17. Mauer grounds into a botched fielders choice. Matsui with the error. Runners on 1st and 2nd 1 out.
  18. Yes -- I'm pretty sure I have a scorecard from a game like that.
  19. I wanna have Botch come in, and it rain boos down from the stands.... The place will erupt.
  20. Trent Green could step into KC's rotation and be the #2 starter.
  21. So he's on the same ridiculous schedule as the other's we've brought up before. :banghead :banghead :banghead
  22. I could go 7 innings vs. the 'Spos without giving up a run.
  23. I'm sure I would score pretty high if I had the patience to finish this. I guess that makes me slightly less of a dork.
  24. Actually Arnie is the guy I have the most confidence in coming up. He has the best "stuff" of anyone we've brought up. He's had a Major League curveball for a least the last 2 years. The best curveball in the organization.
