  2. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Nov 14, 2006 -> 01:40 AM) This bit of information flew under the radar. Who cares. I heard Wayne Krivsky and Jim Bowden were trying to sign a Dominican pin setter they found working lane 16.
  3. Oh no! There appears to be some controversy, or at least some shoddy reporting. Kevin Towers for teh win?!
  4. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Nov 14, 2006 -> 12:49 AM) Bmac and Pelfrey with our current offense > Pelfry and current offense + Carl. You have to weigh these options with the knowledge that Ozzie desires speed, and will play speedy guys at all costs. Kenny is going to get Ozzie a speed guy, I'd rather that speedy guy be one who also has many other tools at his disposal like crawford. Crawford + 1 young pitcher > 2 young pitchers and Dave Roberts, or worse, Juan Pierre.
  5. I don't know why anyone thinks something is getting done at the GM meetings. They went bowling today. No, seriously, they went bowling.
  6. Why don't they just call it what it is: 15 yard penalty for tackling.
  7. One of these days Hester is going to recover a kick at the 50 and turn it into a safety.
  8. HE WASN'T DOWN. YOU'RE NOT DOWN UNTIL YOU'RE TOCHED. WORRELL WAS THE FIRST ONE TO TOUCH HIM. LEARN WHAT DOWN MEANS.
  9. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Nov 12, 2006 -> 08:52 PM) Jesus f***ing Christ. So, will Grossman attempt a pass beyond 10 yards this half? Every set of downs appears the same: Giants blitz, Grossman backpedals, dumps off ball to someone for a minimal gain. I say Grossman begins the 3rd quarter, and if his play doesn't improve Griese begins the 4th quarter. The offense is killing themselves and the defense with poor positioning. Without berrian who can run more than 10 yards at a time. Can anyone actually get open. Maybe Bradley, or at least whoever is being covered by Sam Madison.
  10. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Nov 12, 2006 -> 08:44 PM) ...and how would he know after the exclusive negotiations rights ended less than 12 hours before either guy signed? Hendry is full of it. Because Aramiss told him so. Why wouldn't you believe him?
  11. Punt, before you lose more yardage or turn it over. There was a loss of yardage.
  12. WTF? The ball is coming out? He still has the ball with his knee on the ground. How is that a fumble?
  13. So he signed for longer and more per year than his original deal thanks to a clause in his contract that Hendry allowed, and Hendry's trying to say they're getting a "discount." Talk about a snake oil salesman.
  14. QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Nov 12, 2006 -> 12:13 AM) Well let's set up a scenario: USC loses to Cal ND loses to USC WVU beats Rutgers FSU beats Florida Florida beats Arkansas in the SEC champ Could a Michigan/OSU rematch be set? Boise State! In all seriousness, I would bet that Wisconsin tops Michigan in that poll, but falls behind the 1-loss WVU.
  15. Yeah, looking at the BCS numbers more closely, I wouldn't be surprised to see Rutgers ranked anywhere from 3-6 on Sunday. They're going to take a huge jump in the harris and USA Today polls with all the other teams losing, which is where they were being "underrated." If they end up 3 or 4 this week, they'll be in with a win over WVU (which I don't think they'll get) It's really kinda shaping up like a playoff down the stretch. That's a pretty novel idea.
  16. So, barring a late collapse against the Ducks from the men of Troy, after tonight, we know that the BCS Championship game is going to be the winner of OSU-Mich... And, in all likelihood, the winner of the USC-ND game. I've got the BCS rankings looking something like this tomorrow OSU MICH Florida/USC (close for 3rd) ND Rutgers Arkansas WV LSU Wisconsin BSU If USC loses to Cal, they may take ND's title hopes with them, especially if ARK and FLA meet in the SEC championship game with 1-loss a piece.
  17. I've been laughing at this clip for the last two weeks. I love that the guy's name is TIMO. And the hand gesture at the end is priceless.
  18. QUOTE(JackTalkThai @ Nov 10, 2006 -> 11:41 PM) He was a top prospect but he wasnt THE top prospect. When you take health, age, stuff and projections into account, I would've placed Sanchez as Detroit's #3 pitching prospect. But how much "major league caliber" starting pitching does one organization really need? I count the Tigers having TEN arms that could start for them next season, if need be. If any team had room to trade a couple of quality young arms...it was Detroit without question. Bookmark'd
  19. They just said on PTI that Steve Mariuchi is no longer a candidate for the vacant MSU job. I don't understand how they let him get away. Who are they going to get who's better than Mooch?
  20. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Nov 10, 2006 -> 04:50 PM) I understand...contract. Why weren't the Illini on more last year then? Many of the Big Ten's "second best" games are getting shifted to ESPNU this year. It's ESPN's punishment to the Big Ten because they're jumping ship with their own network, and a way to get people to request ESPNU be picked up by their cable provider since it was only available in something like 1.5M housholds as of this summer (the last time I read anything on the network). So, yeah, Illinois has been on ESPN more this season, but so have a lot of s***ty teams in the 11AM time slot.
  21. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Nov 10, 2006 -> 04:41 PM) Sorry people, but after a couple of tight games with Juice at the helm, ESPN picked up the games. Yes, I understand that Wisco and PSU are bowl-bound teams, but are you telling me that those were the best Big Ten games those weekends, not being picked up by ABC, which, by the way, are more regional than ESPN is. I don't know how many times I tried to turn on a Big Ten game on ABC here in Texas and I get Kansas State-Texas A&M or something like that. ESPN KNOWS that Juice is special, and they KNOW what kind of a recruiter Zook is, and they KNOW that he isn't a great coach, but a talent like Juice, mostly his feet, will overcome some of those problems. ESPN wants to see talent and the more talent that goes to Illinois, the more they will be on. And I think that would go for ANY Big Ten team. (see: Northwestern in '95 and '96 and Purdue with Brees). Wrong. It's the ESPN-Big Ten contract. I was going to say the same thing as Jimbo's, and we never agree. Keep drinking the Juice Kool-Aid.
