  1. So they were playing in Seattle short two (Crochet, Romy) Friday and Saturday, three on Sunday (Tim). Seven man bullpen after heavy usage. Bringing up your Monday starter and burning him in the bullpen in Seattle. Tim Anderson remains out for a third straight game. Any update on Yoan yesterday?
  2. “It’s Pedro’s fault. Rick Hahn is a good boy and great executive.” Signed, Bob Nightengale
  3. I hardly ever listen to the Score at this point, but felt this interview with James is worth listening to if you are a Fegan Fan. https://www.audacy.com/podcast/bernstein-holmes-show-72b3e/episodes/james-fegan-on-his-brand-of-baseball-coverage-moving-on-from-the-athletic-hour-4-f1d62
  4. Burger has dropped below 10th place DH AJ Pollock in the recent update, Yasmani "Elite" Grandal is the lone White Sox Top 10 / 20 (OF) representative at 121,023, or 770,000 plus behind first place AL Catcher Adley Rutschman.
  5. Getting to the level of mediocrity would be a major upgrade over the Hahn era, and something Hahn is incapable of pulling off. The Sox are a bottom five abysmal organization under Rick Hahn, and will never rise above that under Rick Hahn GM or if he is promoted to KW's role. If Hahn and the Sox went 90-72 the next seven years, they would still be 3 games under .500 during his tenure.
  6. Tony La Russa won precisely because he left the Sox Organization to Sandy Alderson’s talent plus syringes, followed by Jocketty’s talent and syringes. The team sucked most of his years here. The primary mistake was letting Hemond and Dombrowski go and hiring Hawk. His biggest mistake since besides firing Himes for not kissing his ass enough and of course cancelling the 1994 White Sox World Series was bringing back Tony in 2020, and driving a wooden stake through the heart of this team.
  7. Upcoming Rick Hahn 2023 Milestones. Lowest point within White Sox Seasons (45 Total / 16 Jerry): 14 games under .500: 1944; 1961; 1984; 2023 15 games under .500: 1914; 1947; 2001 16 games under .500: 1927; 1928; 1995; 2014 17 games under .500: 1923; 1998; 1999 19 games under .500: 1933; 1942 20 games under .500: 1903; 1938; 1986 21 games under .500: 2019 22 games under .500: 1924; 1979; 1987 23 games under .500: 1978; 1988; 2007 25 games under .500: 1989 26 games under .500: 1980 28 games under .500: 1949 29 games under .500: 1910; 1968 30 games under .500: 1969 32 games under .500: 2017 33 games under .500: 1921; 1976 34 games under .500: 1930 35 games under .500: 1935 36 games under .500: 1929; 2013 38 games under .500: 2018 41 games under .500: 1931 46 games under .500: 1934 50 games under .500: 1970 52 games under .500: 1948 54 games under .500: 1932 35 Worst White Sox Seasons (10 Jerry) 14 games under .500: 1914; 1947; 1979; 1984 16 games under .500: 1923; 1933; 1942; 2014 17 games under .500: 1903; 1910; 2019 18 games under .500: 1938; 1986; 2007 19 games under .500: 1978; 1988 20 games under .500: 1980 21 games under .500: 1924 23 games under .500: 1989 26 games under .500: 1969 28 games under .500: 1949; 1968; 2017 30 games under .500: 1921; 1930 33 games under .500: 1976 34 games under .500: 1929; 1950 36 games under .500: 2013 38 games under .500: 2018 41 games under .500: 1931 46 games under .500: 1934 50 games under .500: 1948; 1970 53 games under .500: 1932
  8. This should really have been blown up in 2011 or 2012 with Kenny, Hahn and Ozzie all gone and a clean slate for a new baseball regime. I believe Hahn wasn't Kenny's first choice just like Cito was his choice over Ozzie, but Hahn was a Reinsdorf family friend and Jerry makes every meaningful decision. Kenny publicly dissed Hahn for years, with the Training Wheels and other comments. This gave Hahn a decade of excuses with Kenny taking the blame for anything bad, taking credit for pawning everything he inherited good from Kenny, plus Eaton 1.0, Hahn's one shining moment.
  9. While it is a manager's job to address the media daily, and it's best for him here and beyond to handle this job professionally, I took this more as a dig at Hahn, who he is likely having disagreements with about the roster, lineup, injuries, etc.. He's basically saying there is not much between him and the owner, in terms of accountability and or ability, despite two official layers in between. It's the Jerry insular mentality. Not sure if Hahn or anyone besides managers, coaches and players perform interviews, even on their flagship. They all ducked SoxFest. Sure Ricketts got booed, but at least he'll take the time to speak at their gathering and in interviews. Theo and Jed were always candid, open and respectful in their media appearances, not smug and arrogant and these three have acted for decades. No "meet me at the parade" snide comments. I don't see Ricketts calling his former employees scum in a postseason locker room, telling an interviewer "You're not going to get a bite out of this apple again" and dumping a radio outlet because he disliked a single respectful question.
  10. Let's bash people accurately for once. I said Jake needs to make adjustments, just like Yermin needed to once they figured him out. He also needs to figure it out at 3B as the Sox are taking a hit defensively if he doesn't improve. Billy Hamilton is the only player capable of giving Luis Robert Jr. a day off. Luis is clearly worn out, needs rest, but Hahn doesn't have a capable CF on the roster. Frazier can't even handle RF. If Robert breaks down, this team is completely dead with what they are throwing out there in RF.
  11. Nine straight solo home runs, six chances so far with three back to back during this stretch. 6/19 - (2 Solo) Back to Back: Vaughn & Robert Jr. 6/18 - None 6/17 - (1 Solo) Eloy 6/16 - (2 Solo) Gavin Sheets and Andrew Benintendi 6/15 - (4 Solo) Two Back to Back: Robert Jr. and Eloy in the First; Burger and Vaughn in the Fourth. 6/14 - Two run home run Jake Burger Eighth Inning (Eloy Double).
  12. Bill Veeck would be handing out a free ticket voucher to the people who actually showed up among the 15,554 paid attendance after this game.
  13. Remillard down to .606, thanks for the Saturday memory that you'll be able to cherish.
  14. Barring Extra Innings, this is the Bullpen Workload over the past 3 and 5 games. Cease needs to give them 6-7 tomorrow to get them to Wednesday and the off day. Look for Crochet to go 1-2 for certain, Santos and Graveman possibilities. Tanner Banks 63 109 Aaron Bummer 37 45 Garrett Crochet 0 22 Kendall Graveman 11 29 Joe Kelly 18 35 Reynaldo Lopez 29 29 Keynan Middleton 38 38 Gregory Santos 19 36 Jessee Scholtens 25 39
  15. Just giving him work to keep the rust off. He didn't pitch in Seattle.
  16. Same as Ozzie. That's not going to cut it. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/g/guilloz01.shtml
  17. And Burger may finish in the Mexican League with Yermin if he doesn't figure out he needs to lay off unhittable sliders.
  18. What they are facing tomorrow, pending the 9th inning: Bullpen usage Last 3 and 5 games through tonight: Tanner Banks 63 109 Aaron Bummer 37 45 Garrett Crochet 0 22 Kendall Graveman 0 18 Joe Kelly 18 35 Reynaldo Lopez 29 29 Keynan Middleton 38 38 Gregory Santos 19 36 Jessee Scholtens 25 39
  19. Change in tune from Hahn's late May press conference. Sounds like there is resignation that this season is over after losing 4 of 6 out west, not to mentioned continued attrition with the roster. Vinnie Duber providing the 411. https://allchgo.com/2023/06/19/white-sox-trade-deadline-decisions-will-depend-on-ability-to-compete-in-playoffs-not-just-for-al-central-crown/ Two Hahn quotes:
  20. Well Hahn said today they will most certainly be selling, not buying, based on this comment. Jerry pleased to be dumping salary the last two months, possibly beyond. Thank you Vinnie Duber for your reporting! https://allchgo.com/2023/06/19/white-sox-trade-deadline-decisions-will-depend-on-ability-to-compete-in-playoffs-not-just-for-al-central-crown/
  21. Those walks always kill you. Would be nice having a lineup where Heim at .791 is the lowest OPS.
