  1. That walk seemed intentional. Need to get Lowe here.
  2. Marz? Nice! I had a few New Glarus Pilsners this weekend. Good, but rather have their discontinued Kid Kolsch.
  3. Romy should be the regular 2B once he returns. Andrus can field which helps the pitchers and is OK at this point spelling Romy and Tim 1 game a week.
  4. The one notable change for tonight would have been Scholtens would be the starter tonight, with another reliever up in Seattle. Didn't agree with a lot of the FA/trades moves with Tony's involvement. Think Bochy would have had good suggestions last offseason, definitely this trade deadline, and they perhaps make smarter short term signings like RF Conforto ($36M/2years) and Zach Eflin ($40M / 3 Years) and or Kyle Gibson ($10M/1 year) plus Brandon Drury ($17M / 2 years) instead of Benintendi ($75M / 5 years) plus Clevinger ($12M / 1 Year).
  5. My point was the thought process of the hire. I agree Bochy can't work miracles, but he would be able to evaluate players, have more gravitas in terms of roster decisions, take a good inventory in terms of who has any value and who doesn't. The team would be playing harder and I believe being held accountable would result in smarter baseball. At minimum, it wouldn't be depressing like most of this season beyond their lone good 2 week stretch against terrible teams + the beat up health wise Yankees.
  6. He's out of chances. They can keep cancelling SoxFest, never appear on any non team owned media, but their season ticket base will be down to team sponsors if he continues beyond this 90-100 loss season. There is no future here over the next 3-4 years, will be a bottom 5 team in baseball once again as they have been during Hahn's entire tenure, but with zero carrots left to sell. Even Jerry knows you can't credibly sell another rebuild with this ass clown being a part of it.
  7. Remember Sox Fans, Rick Hahn was not interested in Bruce Bochy last offseason. He was interested in Pedro Grifol. That's all you need to know about Jerry and his mindset.
  8. Texas 44-27 .620 Chicago A. L. 31-42 .425 14 GB Chicago A. L. 31-42 .425 Oakland 19-55 .257 13 1/2 GB This gap will be larger on Thursday, much larger after October 1st.
  9. Funky cold Padilla. This game is over, just waiting to see if they get shut out by a left handed starter.
  10. I don't expect him to work here, just recommend people who should work here, a 2-3 month consiglieri. The problem is, hard to recruit people when their term could literally be a day or decade, depending primarily on when Jerry dies.
  11. If he gets promoted, he will still f*** things up. KW and him need to be gone, let Dombrowski or someone set up a legit FO. I really hope Jerry has no more friends he wants to slot in these spots.
  12. Sox have dropped .404 net in OPS since their 2019 tanking team four years ago today. June 19 Lineup 2019 vs. 2023 OPS: CF L. Garcia .700 vs, LF A. Benintendi .703 (+3) SS T. Anderson .818 vs. 1B A. Vaughn .744 (-74) 1B J. Abreu .814 vs. CF L. Robert Jr. .836 (+22) C J. McCann .893 vs. DH E. Jimenez .745 (-148) LF E. Jimenez .798 vs. C Y. Grandal .724 (-74) 3B Y. Moncada .864 vs, 3B J. Burger .874 (+10) RF R. Cordell .590 vs. RF C. Frazier .570 (-20) 2B Y. Sanchez .640 vs. SS E. Andrus .517 (-123) SP* L. Giolito .000 vs. 2B Z. Remillard 7 ABs Note*: 6/19/19 at Wrigley, No DH.
  13. He looks so sad in this picture. Really hope he can start hitting, but not sure that's going to happen. He hasn't gotten a hit since April 29th, is 0 for 9 with 6 Ks and 1 BB on his current assignment and hasn't played since June 11th because of the DFA / waiver time. Even if he hits .550-.600, he'd really help Robert who is going to break down eventually with 1 day off per month (0 in June, 1 in April, 2 in May which I believe were a tweak of something).
  14. Gonna get worse with guys like Frazier, Sheets and Eloy in RF and Burger playing 3B regularly.
  15. Wonder if they will move Eloy down when his OPS is in the 600s.
  16. When Tampa does it, they have a plan and a few guys who are rested and give 2-3 innings. This is a result of poor starting pitching depth and a desperation move, similar to Hahn's Game 3 plan in Oakland.
  17. That's the point. 29 other teams bring up a reliever for Seattle, and start a starting pitcher on Monday.
  18. Bullpen usage Last 3 and 5 games prior to tonight: Tanner Banks 46 46 Aaron Bummer 15 32 Garrett Crochet 0 22 Kendall Graveman 0 30 Joe Kelly 0 31 Reynaldo Lopez 29 55 Keynan Middleton 38 54 Gregory Santos 19 45 Jessee Scholtens 30 30
  19. This is a late September get the season over and let's go golfing lineup. By not bringing a reliever up in Seattle, and letting Scholtens start tonight, you're putting the bullpen in a hole for the series, after being heavily used last week and coming in from the West Coast late yesterday/this morning.
  20. I agree the staff does a lot of good, though sometimes they are overruled.
  21. Hahn came up with this Opener scheme for Game 3 in Oakland. Wants to take credit if it succeeds, shitcans the manager if it fails. We've seen this s%*# show before. Why wasn't a reliever brought up Friday, and Scholtens today to start? He pitched well in place of Clevinger his first time on the IL, is a starter in Charlotte (9 games, 9 starts), and should have been given a chance to do so to cover the latest Clevinger IL stint.
