  1. Then Bob was completely inaccurate at best, or an MLB / JR / TLR apologist at worst. Two or three glasses of wine during a normal 45-60 minute meal would not render someone Tony’s weight (6’ 0”, at least 180 lbs) 0.095, his reported BAC obtained hours after police arrested him. https://communitylawfirm.com/bac-calculator Unless these were the wine glasses.
  2. I think a direct quote is required to determine whether the unclear summary of Bob’s comments were directed at the legal ramifications of a “first offense” conviction in the State of Arizona, or whether he stated the act of driving drunk is “not a big deal”. Its likely the former, if the latter, than he needs to be called out on it, and would deserve a public campaign against him for his statement.
  3. Perhaps you can explain how folks on a message board posting their opinions, or fans calling advertisers of an organization they have an issue with have the ability to violate Tony LaRussa’s civil rights. @CaliSoxFanViaSWside I did follow the discussion, your statement makes no sense. Are you claiming a civil war or violent overthrow of the government to convict Tony LaRussa, based on a White Sox message board, is some type of realistic or credible threat of his civil rights?
  4. The post is about a Peter Gammons interview. If anyone is hysterical here, it's you clutching your pearls because "people are storming Steve Stone's Twitter account" to address his asinine comments. If Steve Stone had any sense he would have STFU and posted nothing yesterday, just as LaRussa has STFU with non MLB media since his hire. But Stone can't help himself, just like Tony couldn't help himself by repeatedly misconstruing legitimate protests, and demanding "sincerity" from adult players before deeming them worthy of expressing their opinions. This from the same drunken ass clown who stated “I accept full responsibility for my conduct, and assure everyone that I have learned a very valuable lesson and that this will never occur again” after his 2007 DUI conviction. The same drunken violent lunatic who has threatened physical harm to others over the years, including during his time here, his time in Saint Louis when he swung a fungo bat at a reporting asking about steroids, and his incident in Pittsburgh, confronting their broadcast team for calling out his bean-ball wars over the decades.
  5. Quote one post anyone made wishing anyone dead? Many want Reinsdorf and or LaRussa to step down. I wish drunk drivers didn't kill 36,500 Americans each year, and I wish habitual drunk drivers like Tony LaRussa were taken off the road permanently, versus being rewarded over far better options in all aspects via a pathetic and cringe-worthy crony hire.
  6. Just wait for the backlash when the four letter network announces “Jerry’s Guy”and current WMVP gambling segment host Mike North as part of the 2021 White Sox broadcast team. May as well rip the whole bandaid off announce the hiring of “Tony’s guys” Pitching Coach (Curt Schilling) Bullpen Coach (John Rocker) Hitting Coach (Aubrey Huff) Bench Coach (Dr. Ed Lewis)
  7. Tony “Too Legit To Quit” LaRussa Timeline: LaRussa arrested a second time for DUI. LaRussa contacts Jerry stating he’ll need a job once this leaks. Jerry agrees to hire him next season, and sics his paid for media dogs (Stone, Ozzie, Frank) on Renteria throughout the season. White Sox finish with best record since 2005. Jerry orders Hahn to fire Renteria, who Hahn just extended, and hire LaRussa.
  8. Surveillance footage from Tony’s latest DUI.
  9. And it's not just today. It will continue to live on, through the court proceedings, the arrest report, the video of the arrest, the video of the blood test. The conviction and jail sentence. Not to mention the fact that he has lost the ability to hold players accountable, when he does not hold himself accountable, nor does Jerry Reinsdorf. Ken and Rick need to do what they should have done two weeks ago, and say it's us or him.
  10. They tried to make me go to rehab, but I said “no, no, no” Yes I’ve been black, but when I come back, you’ll know, know, know I ain’t got the time, and if Jerry thinks I’m fine.....
  11. Jerry Reinsdorf on Tony LaRussa returning to managing, February 2020: "Managing, it just takes an awful lot out of you. There's nothing else for him to accomplish. You know, he's won three World Series, and uh, he's in the Hall of Fame. And so, there's no reason for him to go back to managing, and have to try to deal with people 22 years old when you're 75 years old." 6:23 mark Tweet of the day goes to Kevin Kaduk To recap: 1. Reinsdorf floated La Russa trial balloon in media for multiple weeks. 2. Fans hated it. 3. At some undetermined point, Sox found out about about TLR DUI. 4. Despite Nos. 2 and 3, Reinsdorf goes over his GM and hires TLR anyway. No words. — Kevin Kaduk, Midway Minute (@KevinKaduk) November 10, 2020
  12. There are things far more important than winning a game. Respect, dignity, honor. I rather the White Sox tank for basic human decency to remove this cancer from the organization and professional baseball than to move up a few draft slots as they did a few years ago.
  13. I don’t agree. Totally believable with Jerry Reinsdorf and Tony LaRussa involved. The White Sox could literally have dozens of better candidates wanting to manage, setting aside Tony’s habitual criminal behavior, yet Jerry demanded Hahn fire Renteria and hire this disgusting drunken scumbag. If LaRussa is managing the team to start the season, I literally hope they lose every single game until this criminal piece of shit is flushed down the toilet. And don’t pay this racist drunk driving asshole a penny, pull the professional conduct clause and terminate him immediately, if not sooner. Regime change begins at home. RESIGN IMMEDIATELY JERRY REINSDORF, YOU HAVE LOST ANY SHRED OF MORAL AUTHORITY TO LEAD THIS ORGANIZATION FOR ONE SECOND FURTHER.
  14. @WriteSox Fuck Jerry Reinsdorf forever.
  15. I didn’t want this criminal scumbag driving on the streets of Chicago before this report. He needs to resign immediately. Same as it ever was. LaRussa last publicly known DUI before this latest DUI.
  16. Among people alive today, Keith Richards is the clear favorite to break Methuselah’s longevity record and make it to the year 3000. That said, I never thought Jerry would have made as Chairman for forty years, and I would be less surprised if Jerry remained chairman of the Chicago White Sox decades from today, with continued advances in science. I agree it’s unlikely LaRussa will be with us by the time Abreu is eligible for Veterans Committee consideration, but Jerry will have others among his clique to do his bidding, perhaps possible future Veterans Committee HOF inductees Paul Konerko or A. J. Pierzynski, and Harold.
  17. If Jerry and Tony stay alive long enough, they may get him through the back door in like they did Harold Baines. My favorite all time player, not a HOF career however.
  18. The Commander was one of three people I ever asked for an autograph at Northwest Federal Savings Bank, a few years after he left for Oakland and then retired. Ernie Banks (at the same venue) and Carol Alt (at the Old Chicago Stadium - waiting for her husband from the god forsaken Rangers) were the two others. The station's radio signal is blasted straight your way, some people in the far western suburbs complain the signal can be spotty at times at night. We get Toronto's AM 740 and French Canadian broadcasts via AM 860 here on clear evening nights. Yankees Public Address Announcer Bob Sheppard, aka The Voice of God", can be heard at the start of the linked "Voice of Labor" broadcast below. Yogi Berra scored the only run of the game with his 6th inning home run. SoxTalk only existed in bars and basements during this time, it was universally agreed Rick Renteria was at fault for the loss. Steve Stone said it was "Ricky's Choice" to pitch to Yogi while playing catch in Euclid.
  19. LaRussa is damned because his actions and statements over the decades, including last week. LaRussa was not asked if he was a racist, yet that is how he answered a question regarding his previous statements on protests. Instead of offering examples of how HE changed and learned to be more tolerant or changed his opinions over time, he said go ask those black people over there if I'm racist. It said a lot regarding his mindset and "thought" process. No amount of PR coaching can prevent these types of statements, especially at his age and temperament. It's the reason Tony is unwilling / unable to reach out to players or speak to media not employed by MLB since his hiring announcement. Yet Tony had plenty of time to speak out multiple times about how wrong it was for blacks to speak out on issues and protest, as recently as 2020 Black History Month, and then tripling down by stating several times during the Zoom conference he would deem whether a player is sincere and worthy of speaking. Tea Party supporters invading Diamondback Stadium, sure that's a protest Tony can support without qualifications. Tony LaRussa is a crony hire who has no business managing or being the public face of any MLB club, especially THIS ball club, especially in 2020. It's why 95% + of this board and fans across the country is absolutely disgusted with this hire.
  20. Perhaps Tony has, not in reality but in his own mind.
  21. Hope they can convert Eloy to DH or 1B ASAP, to keep him healthy and productive. Eloy's health and fielding challenges are due to a lack of ability to play Left Field, despite his best efforts and strong work ethic trying to improve to fill a enormous hole for the White Sox. Despite protestations by @ChiSox1917 for POC he disapproves of / does not meet his standards as giving a "minimal effort", Eloy cares about his team and it is widely known and documented Eloy works hard to be the best player he possibly can achieve. His hitting is undisputed, his personal sacrifice to fill a position the White Sox currently cannot fill without him is to be commended. Hope Tony LaRussa does not "stifle" Eloy like Archie Bunker stifled his wife Edith, when LaRussa evaluates and speaks of Eloy in Spring Training and beyond.
