This team needed a disciplinarian manager such as Joe Girardi, who is a local and has worked in winning organizations. Grifol is too laid back,lacks leadership, and is afraid of confronting his players. I guess Pedro was cheap which suited JR.

Good point. And we have a lot of big guys on our team,including expendable guys like Sheets. I guess our big guys like Robert and Eloy are too valuable and too frail to possibly get hurt in the melee.

Burger got 2 hits and a walk in the Marlins win tonight. Made good contact. Good defense. Showing energy. I still don’t like this trade. Burger has been improving, and we need sluggers in our team. Burger interview after the game said he liked the Marlins clubhouse energy and the feeling that they are never out of the game, and he was warmly welcomed. I think this was a dig at the Sox clubhouse in a way.

Could have used Burger to stop this streak with one big swing.

Jake won’t have to worry about the weather so much, as he will be playing in a domed stadium. However the wind won’t be as much of a factor as GRF and homers will be harder to come by.

Our bottom third of the lineup are awful offensively. As close to automatic outs as you can get. Zavala must have the lowest Batting average in MLB, establishing the .150 Zavala line, below the Mendoza line.

Grandal is a four tool dud. Can’t hit, can’t run, can’t catch and can’t throw.

Agree. Burger is tailor made for homer friendly GRF. He is also one of our most popular players. I would have dealt pr Vaughn instead, but maybe the marlins did not want Vaughn?

Should have spent the Benintendi money on a slugger as GRF is a home run hitter park, and we get outhomered in many games at GRF. Fortunately, Burger has closed the gap homers this season.
