We are a homer ball team, which is OK in a homer friendly Rate park, but when we don’t hit homers, we struggle. Would help to improve our small ball, particularly during Manfred ball extras. IMO.

This Joshua Baez is a 23 yr old monster. First at bat against the Cubs a 449 ft3 run homer, followed by 2 more homers, a major league record for a first time call up. He was a second rounder. Matthew Boyd was the victim. 5 Cubs gopher balls today so far.

Roger’s did not hit today, but his defense is better than Romo/Quero. We can now throw some pitches in the dirt, which we could not safely do with our other catchers. IMO.

Urquidy saved the day so far. I thought that we would get into a shootout with Urquidy coming in, but alas he kept the Tigers pretty much at bay. It has helped that our bats have woken up. Will is too formulaic. He doesn’t like lefty- lefty matchups.
