Alek Thomas
I don’t know whether Thomas is the answer, but the Sox need to improve on the current outfield. Mediocre defense and power numbers. Our infield defense is pretty good but not the outfield.

GAME THREAD: 5/8/26 6:40pm | Sox vs Mariners |Burke vs Hancock
The Sox didn’t learn, and threw Raley a fast ball in the zone twice.

Don’t forget that we now have the Pope behind the Sox.

I would also ask why isn’t Murakami hitting 3 rd. More opportunity to hit HRs with men on base, than hitting second.

The question is who stupidly called for a fastball on an 0-2 count in the first place, and why throw it right down the middle in second place, and with the bases loaded at that.. Burke should have better control…

White Sox signing Randal Grichuk to major league deal
Quintessential journeyman. Has been with 8 major league teams. 34 yrs old. Good stat is that he has 212 career home runs. Hope he still has some HRs in the tank.

Signing Murakami best Sox decision in ages. Very good investment.
Was thinking maybe a Japanese TV or radio deal with advertising at Rate park. Sox merchandise selling in Japan. I recall I once attended a Marlins game in Miami, when Ichiro was playing there, and there were many Japanese press and TV and fans there for the game, and Miami is even farther than Chicago. I understand that Ichiro was a legend, but still….

With JR turning 90 yrs old, wouldn’t he want a championship and spend the money ? He doesn’t need any big money at his age. His children would still inherit the club. IMO.

I would believe that a lot of Japanese money will be coming into the Sox, much like it happened with Ichiro in Seattle. Good opportunity for JR to cash in on that. Sox brand equity will go up.

Signing Murakami best Sox decision in ages. Very good investment.
Signing Murakami is the best decision by Sox front office in ages. There is Murakami fever in Chicago, with attendance up. Attendance for all Sox games on the road will also increase from the dismal past numbers. Murakami will continue to be the talk of baseball. The Sox are also now in contention in the weak AL Central, with Murakami leading the way along with our good young prospects. There is hope in the South Side. Let’s not trade him at the deadline. Let’s enjoy the moment with our Japanese Aaron Judge. IMO.

Benintendi was 4 for 5 today. Kelenic 3-5. Maybe we don’t Grichuk after all.

5/1 Sox @ Padres - 8:40PM CT
Agree. I could not understand Ozzie tonight. Great suggestion about subtitles needed.

5/1 Sox @ Padres - 8:40PM CT
But without the PEDs.

5/1 Sox @ Padres - 8:40PM CT
You are not allowed to refer to the bench for a challenge. Quero needs to be told to let the pitcher challenge instead of him. All pitchers need to be told before the games that Quero is catching. IMO.

Schultz is on his way to be our Randy Johnson. Hope we keep him and not trade him away.

5/1 Sox @ Padres - 8:40PM CT
It probably tells us that PEDs do work like it also did to Barry Bonds, Sosa, McGuire, ARod and any others. Don’t complain. Better weather.

5/17 Sox @ Cubs 1:20PM
Sox lineup is AAA quality at best. Noticed on game yesterday that all position players had OPS numbers below MLB averages. Hard to compete unless our pitching is superb. The Cubs have a much better team with more weapons. IMO.

Crochet Traded to Boston
Chicago has the second number of skyscrapers in the US after NYC with a beautiful skyline. However having the best skyline in the world will need to compare with other waterfront cities such as NYC, Miami, Hong Kong, Rio, Cape Town, San Francisco, Seattle, amongst others. IMO.
