  1. Based on all the dumb TRL moves, it's obvious either Miguel Cairo is also clueless or more probable, TLR doesn't listen to him or the other coaches. Bottom line is, unless Jerry R makes Tony listen to his coaches, nothing will matter or change. I do agree though and said it before on in this forum, The Sox will win this year not because of TRL, but in spite of him.
  2. As far as Eaton and Lynn go and I wont debate Eaton has he isn't worth the energy. I think Lance Lynn was all Hahn. Just because Lynn played for TLR many years ago, doesn't mean TLR called Hahn and told him to trade for Lynn. Texas openly was trying to trade Lynn to any suiters. since Lyn was going into his year before being a FA. Hahn just stepped in knowing he was all in to win the world series and figured trading Dunning was worth it to get a accomplished solid starter. Just because LaRussa is the manager doesn't mean Rick H lost his decision making power. We all know this was Jerry's pompous and senile decision to make good to his buddy for a horrible decision Jerry made 35 yrs ago not stopping Hawk from firing Tony in the first place. Let's not be naïve and think Hahn didn't have a long conversation to attempt to talk Jerry out of this buffoon idea. In the end, if the owner orders you to hire TLR, then you need to hire him no matter how insanely absurd it is. I truly believe that if this wasn't pushed down his throat, Hinch or Bochy would be the manager today.
  3. 75 wins to win the AL central? That is nonsense. A record of 75-87 and be first in the AL Central. I hope you are kidding, because that is just totally ridiculous. Also thinking Eloy and Robert back for October is a pipedream. Where are you getting this? Show me the article that confirms it's doubtful they are coming back. Per Hahn and medical staff, Eloy out 5-6 months from March 30 surgery. Also per Rick Hahn and medical staff, Robert out 12-16 weeks from May 2nd with no surgery needed. Do the Math! Sox are the most dysfunctional team in MLB now? Seriously? 19-13 and 1st in AL central, #1 in Run Differential, #1 in AL ERA, is due to this awesome team put together by Rick Hahn and cannot be classified as the most dysfunctional team in MLB. Jerry R and Tony R are the only dysfunctional clowns for the Sox! The Sox are going to win big this year not because of Tony or Jerry....but despite of them.
  4. My concern too and ironically MLB prior the season had the Sox rated the #1 bullpen in baseball.
  5. Vaughn would play 1st, his natural position. I am sure as the weather warms up Jose will heat up this season. Yet keep in mind Abreu is going to be 35 in 2022. At some point he will decline. I hope it doesn't happen for a few years but his age doesn't favor him.
  6. Agree, Bummer is a stud, but concerned Heuer is struggling this year when he was lights out last season. Also concerned why we still have Marshall on the team. He completely sucks! 6.75 ERA and 6 out of 12 appeances this year he has given up 1 or more runs.
  7. My bad, Bummer should have been on here but he isn't a FA until '27. Grandal is not on here for obvious reasons because he cant be a FA soon enough. He has the highest contract on this team and unfortunately it's not up until 2024. Rodon and Lynn are FA's and that will be important to keep both of them, provided Rodon stays healthy and keeps this up. Lynn is the key one because Hahn gave away a young future talented pitcher in Dane Dunning to get Lynn. Btw, how brilliant was Theo for the Cubs? Yes he won the '16 WS, but he never tied up any of his core players with Rizzo, Bryant, Contreras and Baez all being FA's in 2022 and probably all leaving. Btw, Hahn has only had the total decision making power since the start of the rebuild and in year 4 which was last year and year 5 this year, I think he has put a great team together to contend for several years...with many all locked up. Whether it's brilliant or not..it surely deserves more credit than you are giving him.
  8. Excellent points here. I would much rather have Collins catching since he does catch our pitchers better. I think it's more important to give up hitting in 1 of 9 spots. What matchup are you gaining when Grandal has 7 hits in 58 AB's this season and only 3 of them against a left hand pitcher? It's not like Collins can't hit lefty's as his last home run was against a lefty?
  9. Wasn't ire or anger at all, I believe I said with sarcasm the word "interesting". Was more about pointing out the obvious about our senile manager.
  10. Agreed the window is now and for the next 3-4 seasons and that's due to the brilliance of Rick Hahn who locked in several of our best players for the next several years before hitting UFA. Year to hit UFA Abreu '23 Giolito '24 Anderson '25 Hendricks '25 Moncada '26 Cease '26 Kopech '26 Jimenez '27 Madrigal '27 Crochet '27 Robert '28
  11. Agreed! Interesting that of the 12 hits last night, everyone got at least one hit except for Grandal. Granted he walked 4 times, but I guess his .122 BA allowed him to jump to 5th in the order ahead of Mercedes. Must be TLR wants Grandal for more protection for Abreu over Mercedes! lol
  12. Not always...since 2015, the World Series winner and their MLB rank in team payroll: '20 - Dodgers #2 '19 - Nationals #11 '18 - Red Sox #1 '17 - Astros #18 '16 - Cubs #14 '15 - Royals #15 '21 White Sox #15 - $136,202,500 vs. #1 Dodgers - $245,228,376 As you can see, four of the last six years were reasonable lower. Hopefully our White Sox at 15th can do the same thing this season.
  13. World Series Champions since 2016 and their run differential rank. Other than 2019, the World Series champions were either first or second for the regular season RD. '16 - Cubs +254 - 1st '17 - Astros +196 - 2nd '18 - Red Sox +229 - 2nd '19 - Nationals +149 - 6th '20 - Dodgers +136 - 1st
  14. Wow, too bad we cant get our senile manager to look over these stats the next time he wants to pull or bench Vaughn.
  15. Let's hope the all right handed lineup does the damage tonight against a lefty which we seem to do well against.
  16. Too soon to say. Let's see if he can finish the season healthy. I must admit though, I'm happy for him. I think most of us didn't expect much out of him this year as the 5th starter. This is one huge bonus that wasn't expected.
  17. McCann outplayed Grandal in most important categories in last year's shortened season.. WAR 1.2 to 0.6, BA .289 to .230, OBP which was suppose to be Grandal's strength, .360 to .351, SLG .536 to .422, OPS .896 to .773 and and 7 HR's in 31 games to 8 HR's in 47 games for Grandal.
  18. Ok agreed, but hopefully when the team is sold we can have a real rich billionaire come in to buy the team and not have a ton of part owners. I want someone running this team that made his billions running a successful company and owning the Sox is for fun and the competitive nature of it.
  19. Yep...winner winner, chicken diner!
  20. Great point and I agree with you on his weak traits. I've stated before on previous threads here how Jerry hangs on too long to weak executive in people like Krause, Pax and Kenny. To be clear though, lets not combine Kenny/Hahn, since Hahn is now running this and not Kenny and this team is finally heading in the right direction.
  21. I agree with you its totally on TRL. How come nobody talks about why TLR took Kopech out in the first place. Yes the bases were loaded, but there were two outs. All we needed was for Katz to come out and just settle Kopech down and tell him to just stick with the fastball as he was struggling with the curve and slider. Plus he was only at 43 pitch count. If it were the bottom of the second tied 0-0 and he was at 43 pitches with bases loaded and two outs, I seriously doubt TRL would have pulled him.
  22. Great point. Then the other owners who keep him on as chairman obviously are clueless and don't give a damn.
