Well I wasn’t talking about predraft. Fair enough, we will agree to disagree.
-
Goldy raked like an absolute stud from day 1 professional. Cant say the same respective to the Cal guy. I mean, he was respectable. But I think the Snakes could see what they had on their hands prettyyyy quick. Can we? Caufield says we cannot yet, which I agree with. Therefore, Vaughn is tradeable. All Im saying.
-
Predraft, sure.
-
I just wouldn’t talk about him like he is a Goldschmidt level prospect because he has never shown that yet professionally. And is 4 inches shorter. Unless he was showing that level, he can be traded. We can call small sample size, but if we do, that means projection.
-
To be honest, its mostly been projection rather than production since college. But your right it could bite you if you traded him now. However, he doesn’t play a premium position, and pure hitters can be found. I would be open to a deal. Its not like trading a 17 YO shortstop with all the tools in the world.

Disagree on the premise of the Bulls not winning again. Just look at the win totals the last season and project the disaster falloff if your theory is correct. Doubtful they were going anywhere south unless Jordan’s finger was falling off. The rebuild did show how overrated Krause was though. He did good enough and rode the GOAT. Not a rare feat of strength.

Pretty elementary. I think you weigh the positive outcomes against the negatives and look at game saving balances ultimately. The worst manager of all time has never had 100% of moves blow up on his face. But on balance? You be the judge.
-
They might. But looking at the lineup is what fuels the dread.
-
Im not sure if it was Leyland or Madden that said the manager determins a handful or a few handfuls of games at best in a season. But TLR has not seemingly helped the team yet at all. Hes got to pick them up somewhere, sometime.
-
Welp. Reinsdorf the team killer strikes again.
-
For me the issue is he is the opposite of clutch so far.
-
TLR sure did pee on the parade tho.
-
Hendricks was always more of a luxury than a need though. They always should have gotten a right fielder instead.
-
Broken record. We will lose every game tied into the ninth
-
Winning is a great deodorant. But when you dont win, things that can normally be “OK” (as TA says) can get rather messy
-
There are a lot of holes in the team if you look at it comprehensively. The differential numbers have been impressive, but like the Titanic, things can happen, and happen rather slowly but inexorably. The Sox are very lucky Minny blew a tire. Again, the playoffs will be a different monster, and this lineup has to hit and bullpen be lights out. Plus the manager, tight.
-
The lineup being exposed exposes everything else to scrutiny.
-
Third baseman singlehandedly defeats the Sox
-
Anything a 50 year old can compete and win in is not a sport. *checks Brady’s age again*
-
The starting pitching has allowed for a false sense of security on this lineup. The playoffs will not be kind.
-
I think the standard margin of calling off the hounds is about 10 runs and a position pitcher on the mound. Everyone has been telling the Twins to stop the Sox instead of complaining. I think we’ve got to be consistent.
-
Wow. Said in the wake of a Yerminator megatwitter controversy.
-
As I was saying earlier, he lost the edge mentally on ump calls right before the doubles, the walk turned his mind. He always looks as if he is searching for his happy place on the mound. Sometimes he retreats to the dark side.
-
Said in response to a Vaughn comment about him against righties, in a thread where other people want to die.

We had run into some beat able pitchers before this series , but the lineup isn’t able to manufacture runs very well. I think the playoffs could be disappointing when that consistent pitching beats them down. Whoever they put in the outfield in the future needs speed, especially on the bases. Hopefully it is Cespedes.
