I would definitely put him in the 8th and let him do that. He has said he's comfortable pitching in the 8th. I don't think he is this bad but he's utterly worthless without that slider.

It's for his own good. Give him 2 or so starts a week in LF and the rest he should DH. Vaughn is a better LF. Good for him for making a nice play.

Really hope that the only reason Eloy is in LF is to spell Vaughn and give Engel a chance to heal up. When Engel is healthy, I really don't want to see Eloy in LF on a regular basis. He's too valuable offensively to risk him getting hurt.
