  1. Has Nick won a Gold Glove? Cesar is a Gold Glove winner. Does Cesar run us out of innings? NIck ran us out of innings how many times these past two years? I think Nick was going to eventually learn but I don't think we had the patience to go on that ride with him. Right now, Cesar hits for power more, he has the same base stealing ability, he's a better defender, and he just has much higher baseball IQ. Right now and for the next few years, he's a better player. Heuer may be a very good releiver. Or he might be a bust. Kimbrel is a hall of famer pitching at the height of his powers.
  2. * Hall of fame closer. Heuer got his first save tonight but we honestly have no idea what he will amount to. And Madrigal's ceiling is kind of low. Like I said, Cesar will be a better player in the immediate future.
  3. Anyone who references this masterpiece gets a like from me.
  4. Thank god. Watching that was very scary. Curious what this means for him? I'm assuming he's done for the year but that's probably not as important as his longterm health. Glad there was no concussion other.
  5. Yes. I think he's the future Right Fielder. Probably something he'll perfect in the off-season.
  6. Got out of a broadway play and looked at the score and was like "Holy crap, Rey Lo pitched five scoreless and scored 8 runs, Climate change has been solved!"

  8. Given his kid's health condition (probably one of the reasons he was one of the very few Cubs players who got the vaccine), he might think it's important that the option is picked up. I'm sure moving to a new city given that situation might not be easy.
  9. Assumed he was gone for the year. Interesting. I don't know where he fits.
  10. https://www.yahoo.com/news/adam-eaton-designated-assignment-halos-185812805.html lol
  11. He has to go on a run. His disadvantage is that he's not going to get to 20 wins and that he's had some embarrassing clunkers.
  12. It's basically like me going to CityMD (Urgent care) and saying, "Hey I don't feel good, write me a note"
  13. Lol. You say this but according to ESPN, Hendriks is still far and away the clubhouse leader in their Cy Young predictions
  14. Does there actually need to be a documented medical reason to send someone to the IL?
  15. I think they were near the end of their run on that team anyways. I think a rebuild was necessary. But yeah, I see your point.
  16. Oh yeah. I think Ruiz in the future could be pretty valuable. Just not sure right now. He's still figuring it out though.
  17. I'd still rather have ReyLo out there though than someone like Foster or Ruiz. I would have felt much better about ReyLo coming out for the 9th on Sunday than Foster.
  18. Yeah. Anyone know what his previous high is? The question will be how writers look at this and what they value. If they value wins, Bassit is likely the only one in the AL within reach of 20. And certainly because of the week Lynn spent on the IL, his innings are higher. But if they value ERA and other things, Lynn will likely be at an advantage. My gut tells me that if nobody wins 20 games, which I think is a real possibility, Lynn takes it. If Bassit does win 20 games, I think he's got a solid chance. But the ERA is still a little high. I think the bad outing against Tampa and his time away likely to Cole out of it. Also keep in mind that they vote for this in mid September. I think if the vote were taken today, Lynn would win. But Bassit is peaking at the right time.
  19. I would rather have Keuchel coming out and starting vs the bullpen. I don't really trust him pitching in relief. I think we'll know in the last month. If this is what we get from both Keuchel and Cease, I'm comfortable having Dallas start. If Cease goes on a Contreras like run, than Cease has to start in the playoffs. Cease's stuff makes him a better fit for the bullpen in the playoffs though.
  20. This is just sad. It's not even funny anymore. Even at their nadir, the Sox weren't this bad.
  21. Collins likely lets one of Kimbrel's curve balls to the backstop.
  22. I feel like Bassitt is the only one standing in the way of Lynn and his Cy Young.
