  1. They have more home runs than the Red Sox do as a team. Definitely think this is more sustainable then white Sox teams of past. Getz and co have finally found the two left handed sluggers that this team has lacked for nearly ten years.
  2. Meanwhile we still have five years of control with Martin due to his injury history.
  3. Benni provides veteran leadership. DFA him next year.
  4. Was actually really impressed with him in 2022 when he filled in for Giolito and Lynn
  5. I think Beni does have some value as a veteran guy, especially as we get into the stretch run. None of these players really have the experience he has playing meaningful games in September.
  6. First season he's been up in the Major Leagues where he has a had a fully clean bill of health. The adjustments he made to his windup have really paid off. Dunno if he can keep up an historic pace like this but I think he has the capability to be a top of the rotation starter.
  7. Winning series convincingly against our shitty division rivals is how we get to the playoffs.
  8. I think getting someone with veteran experience is really important. Someone with recent playoff history. Maybe that's an outfielder or something.
  9. I think we need a veteran starting pitcher. I do expect the Sox to be in and around it by the deadline. Maybe a Joe Ryan if twins would trade within the division.
  10. Agree with a lot of what was said in the first post. Just curious, what starting pitchers would be available?
  11. Amazing. Have to say I'm impressed with the implementation of ABS. Much smoother then semi automatic offsides.
  12. Let's wait and see. The value Mune provides off the field probably would work in his favor in terms of getting a big contract from JR. he also might want to be the face of a franchise. He seems like a chill guy and it does seem like he has a genuine convection the fan base and the city.
  13. Yeah I think the starting rotation is the weak point. But I do think the bullpen is starting to look a bit better. I'm encouraged by Burke and also I've been a Davis Martin fan since when he stepped in for us in 22. Smith has the tools to succeed in the big leagues.
  14. Gonna start out by saying that I'm not convinced that the white Sox will win the AL central. There are some very obvious holes in this team. But I also think, given the weakness of this division and the flaws in all the other teams, that 84 wins probably wins the division. At what point do we actually start to take this seriously. I'm very encouraged by what I see from the offense and it's impossible to understate just how badly we have been missing a player like Mune for quite some time. Had we had that profile of slugger in 2021, we may have won the World Series that year. At the very least, I would like to see ownership have to make a tough decision about going for it this year.
  15. Kind of think he becomes our first $100 million signing. Multitude of reasons but also the fact that he brings in revenue like few other players can. We give Getz crap but not only is this his best signing but it may prove to be the best free agent signing of the off season from any team.
  16. Buehrle was up to 20%. Will be interesting to see the jump he makes next year. Wonder if new age writers are taking him more seriously.
  17. He'll get in on the veterans committee
  18. Fwiw, Gio is in Chicago right now training at UIC. I think his partner is from the Chicagoland area.
  19. That's a good point. But his dad came on the air after he was traded and said that he would love to resign for the White Sox in the off season if they made a move for him.
  20. I would bet money we bring Gio back.
  21. He's willing to spend stupidly. How many of their big signings, outside of Shohei have worked out? I don't want someone to spend for the sake of spending.
  22. Also, if you are talking sports, this includes the global world, there are many european football owners who are FAR worse then Reinsdorf. We are talking letting their teams go bankrupt and lose professional standing. All you have to do is go to the EFL. I'm sorry but I do think this needs to be pointed out to be put into context. I legitimately think Spurs ownership is worse then Reinsdorf, although Levy is actually a good comp to him.
  23. They also didn't win a world series. If we are taking to account full ownership, Reinsdorf has seven championships and Moreno has zero. I don't like Reinsdorf. I just don't think he's the worst.
  24. I think the White Sox have been more competitive and successful with Reinsdorf then the Angels with Moreno. A broken clock can be right occasionally.
  25. I think Moreno might be worse. Wasting Trout and Ohtani is criminal.
