  1. Today's playoff race games: BOS @ BAL 6:05 NYY @ TOR 6:07 PHI @ ATL 6:20 TB @ HOU 7:10 ARI @ SF 8:45 SD @ LAD 9:10 OAK @ SEA 9:10
  2. If he had a halfway competent offense surrounding him, yes, but he's not going to get any better playing with the offense the Bears have right now. He can't learn to move to his third read if he's getting sacked before getting to his second read.
  3. 9/29: Houston got a walk-off walk last night against Tampa, but Seattle's win over Oakland prevented them from clinching, and Houston's win prevented Tampa from clinching the #1 seed. Houston remains 2.5 ahead of the Sox for the #2 seed. A wild night in the wild card race saw Chris Sale lose to Baltimore, which leaves Boston now only 0.5 game ahead of Seattle for the 2nd WC spot. New York won at Toronto, which moved the Yankees 2 ahead of Boston and kept the Jays one behind Boston. In the National League, Atlanta now up 3.5 over Philadelphia in the East, which is now the only NL playoff spot up for grabs as St. Louis locked down the wild card with their 17th straight win. San Francisco and Los Angeles both win to keep the Giants 2 clear of the Dodgers in the NL West. Key early week series (all through Thursday unless noted otherwise): Oakland at Seattle (ends today), Boston at Baltimore, NY Yankees at Toronto, Philadelphia at Atlanta, Tampa Bay at Houston, Arizona at San Francisco, San Diego at LA Dodgers.
  4. Or they could just look at the score of their game.
  5. At this point, the soxtalk postseason roster has 8 position players and 7 pitchers.
  6. If this guy can strike Grandal out then nobody else has a chance.
  7. He's in this very in between phase where he's really good for 3-4 innings but really struggles going longer. Hard to make a full time starter out of him yet you feel like you're wasting him as a reliever.
  8. It kind of is for them. They're eliminated with their next loss.
  9. The only downside is that he may have played himself into a starting job somewhere next year.
  10. The Reds have a really good lineup. If they added an innings eating starter like Dallas Keuchel and proven closer like Craig Kimbrel, that could put them over the top.
  11. Very possible. If you ignore number of games played and just look at production on a per game basis, he's challenging Ohtani for MVP.
  12. No, they don't. They express political opinions, which are very different than rational feelings. If Donald Trump came out tomorrow and said that the vaccine and masks were great and everybody should be getting/using them, Clay Travis' opinions would change to match Trump's the very same day.
  13. If you have Xfinity internet, you can get a good discount on Xfinity TV, and they have a streaming app now so you don't need any connections in addition to your existing modem. It's what we use.
  14. If he can come back tomorrow, he can get 1 inning tomorrow and then 1 each in two of the final 3 games and he should be OK.
  15. If you assume Sheets as DH vs RHP and Engel is not available, then you either have Leury in RF and Cesar at 2B or Leury at 2B and Cesar in RF. Unless Vaughn gets hot this last week, I'll go with the former. Against LHP, you have Vaughn at DH, Leury in RF and Cesar at 2B. If Engel comes back, he can push Leury to 2B and Cesar out of the lineup.
  16. Peacock app and NBC sports app are separate. You can't link them.
  17. September. Same time frame as the OBP stats quoted.
  18. We have Peacock Premium as it is included with our Xfinity package. I've never seen Sox games on there.
  19. One win clinches the #1 seed for Tampa. Do they really want to give Houston a look at their best pitchers this close to the postseason if they don't have to?
  20. I think they will go with more pre-defined roles for the postseason: Tepera 6th, Bummer 7th, Kimbrel 8th, Hendriks 9th. Kopech if you need someone before the 6th.
