  1. He appears overmatched/somewhat clownish. And you never hear about players loving him or anything. RR got the shaft, folks and so did we as fans. RR baby!
  2. Gordo was right. They were playing for big inning by holding up runner. See this is my problem with pitch counts. Fricking leave Cease in and give him a chance to get out of the inning. His pitch count was not outlandish. Now Lopez blows the 4 run lead and it's bad for EVERYBODY in a Sox uniform. If I were Cease I'd be sooooo pissed. No wonder some of these players only care about money. Cease earned a paycheck tonight, nothing else cause of Lopez/Pedro taking him out.
  3. Get out of this jam Lopez. Caught a break on the holdup at 3rd.
  4. Lopez better get out of this jam. Cease pitched well K wise. I'd still rather have Cease stay in til they score a run. 5 1/3 innings used to be a cruddy start. Now it's excellent. So sad. (That said, u pitched well Mr. Cease).
  5. I want to like/love Beckham but his voice sadly annoys me.
  6. Good point. Once in a while Burger, Vaughn and Robert tear the bleep out of the ball and hit beautiful homers. That's about it for good baseball. And once in a while our starters do OK to good.
  7. Good job by Elvis. 93 pitches for Cease. I'd let him start the inning and see if he can have a 12 pitch inning then yank him at 105 pitches. Or at least let him go to 100.
  8. That dropped popup was not good. Grandal screwed up there unless he lost the ball. Could Cease have screamed who should take it? Seems to me he'd have the best view of that even tho pitchers generally never make fielding plays on plays like that.
  9. Glad to see the Sox bouncing back after losing 3 in a row. If we win tonight I fully apologize for freaking at their dropping those 3. I love me some Burger. Has any player in baseball history succeeded in swinging at virtually every pitch? His personality and Curley (Stooges)-like face and head reminds me of Babe Ruth.
  10. I'd leave him at the top. There's really nobody else but Beni. Then you'd put Timmy second anyway. Not a big difference. TA may be blah but he's our leadoff guy for now pretty much case closed.
  11. You would think we'll be hearing he'll be out a while. He took a pitch smack on his hand it appeared.
  12. Not putting him on blast. Didn't TA play hurt last year too? What's up with baseball and all these injuries? Players used to be big and overweight (in some cases), certainly not the sculpted bodies of today yet all we hear is stuff about TA playing hurt, etc.
  13. Glad to see the Sox fight back. After seeing Beni's hand there, he gonna be out a while. Glad they have halted the streak before it got huge again.
  14. Burger giving the Sox a fighting chance. I'll take it but still looking like an L.
  15. Very sad. Sox don't belong on same field as Dodgers. People could win a lot of money stacking bets on Sox games. Very predictable.
  16. I won't listen to it. He's a good hitter having a blah year so far. I know RBI's don't matter any more and leadoff hitters don't knock in runs but 10 RBI well into June seems awfully bad.
  17. Sox back in the tank, what's that three in a row? Team is so soft/uncompetitive. White Sox lose a tough game and go back to being patsies. Three in a row and counting. Sox are such a bad road team; .500ish at home. Should be interesting to see how long this losing streak will be. We diehards are such dummies.
  18. Was your dad upset u became a Sox fan? That'd be kind of a bummer if that happened. I know in our family Sox vs. Cubs was life and death. My dad's brother and his side loved the Cubs. My dad was a Sox only fan, wouldn't be caught dead in Wrigley so to speak. My mom's dad was a Cub fan. I went with him to a ton of Cubs games prolly from age 10 to 15. I enjoyed the games a lot. My grandfather wasn't an obnoxious fan but he did love a good Cub baseball game. He didn't even cheer much vs. my dad who screamed at umps, etc. A lot of times those Cub games were so crowded he'd have to buy us two single seats and I wouldn't even get to sit by him. Kids were different back then. No cell phones. I remember being engrossed in the games and enjoyed those games in Wrigley when the score got out of hand. Like 15-10 scores that happened a lot in Wrigley, balls clubbed off the Ivy and out of the park. I especially enjoyed getting there early with gramps and watching players hit homers in batting practice. At the exact same time, my dad had Sox season tickets and I went with him to many Sox night games. He also had Blackhawk season tickets and we went to a ton of games. I kind of had the best of both worlds getting to hang with gramps and my dad at different ballparks. However I was more drawn to the Sox. I remember going to a DH and being in nirvana. As a little kid I remember game one ending and getting to see the grounds crew put down the white chalk for the basepaths. I loved Comiskey and everything about it. Loved it more than Wrigley as a kid. Anyhow I digress. When we moved from southside Mt. Greenwood to Lisle to start my junior year of high school (Br. Rice over to Benet) I was exclusively a Sox fan and never cared about the Cubs again. Never. Didn't follow them during that rare year they won it all. BTW my dad got rich and our Sox seats improved. As a fricking high schooler and college kid coming home for summer I went to 30 plus games a season wit our box seats in row five. My dad's board of trade partner was one of the Sox many owners so he'd sit with the owners indoors and get drunk, thus I could take friends to fill our four seats at tons of Sox games. Those were the days baby. Row five at Sox park.
  19. That's a pretty neat, concise post. I would agree with you. Baseball is no longer special. It's still boring despite the changes this season. Not sure why pitchers' arms have become so brittle but I can almost feel the pain when they whiff our Sox on cutters.
  20. Sox frankly have a high ceiling of .500; it also could go the other way as we're well aware and they could finish 20 below. Not 30-40 below like the Royals.
  21. Uh oh. We lose again in heartbreaking fashion after the Saturday game. Will the mentally weak Sox drop another 10 in a row after blowing that game Sat?
  22. True. The Sox bullpen does still stink in the overall scheme of things. If not stink I'd say it is HIGHLY unreliable. Woulda been interesting to see what woulda happened if Tim had gotten the force at home. Sox still can win division if bullpen is a 5 out of 10 on the rating scale. 3 or 4 and it'll be tough.
  23. Darn. I think the fans' boos said it all. Disappointing finish there. I'm gonna be so discouraged/mad if Sox let that one ridiculous loss become 2, 3, 4. It happened, Sox. Get mad and don't let this horrific loss send u into a tailspin. Stuff happens. Timmy closed his glove and muffed it. Stuff happens. I won't even comment on the relief. It was one of those disastrous endings. Knowing my Sox they will let that demoralize them. They shouldn't.
  24. Good job Robert. We win. Look folks, the gawd-awful start the Sox had now is a bonus. We're in the division race. It's not humanly possibly to play as bad as the Sox did in April. That had to be sooooooo depressing. Now? They have to be loving this. And they should feel no pressure the rest of the way after being considered pond scum by all of baseball so to speak in April. That had to be a long stretch of feeling like utter failures and embarrassed to face the media throng and fans every day. Hopefully these bullpen hacks can keep overachieving (liam leads the way! He doesn't wanna be on a pathetic team at this stage) and our younger players can keep elevating. Robert baby. Nice hit.
  25. Sounds like Sox had some rotten at bats in Game Two of the DH.
