  1. Ohtani vs. Lynn is like Fred Lynn vs a Little Leaguer back in the day. Batting practice, baby.
  2. Nice win. Don't understand why advanced stat people don't like the RBI stat. Good job Vaughn and Romy. We'll take the W.
  3. Good post as usual, Dick. I'd like to point out the Sox are equal opportunity losers. They've lost to good teams, sure (Rays, Stros) but also gotten boatraced by the Royals (in KC) and Tigers and some other rotten teams. Sox appear to have another horrific road team and a .500ish squad for home games.
  4. Eloy with the bomb. Liam. Otherwise another disgusting loss. Sox stink and dat is dat.
  5. Didn't sale have at least 2 stellar seasons before the arm woe? Sox pitching staff since the tank has been atrocious. At least in the past we always had one stud to cheer for: Buehrle, Sale, Hoyt, etc. Sox truly have been an embarassment since "tank" entered the vocabulary around 35th and Shields. Let's face it, we cheer for an abysmal wreck of a frachise that was not this horrible pre-tank. Sox actually had a chance yearly to do something in this appallingly bad division.
  6. I was one of the very few on the board who cheered for WINS and fought those who wanted the Sox to lose during the fake rebuild. It's obvious the baseball draft is a crapshoot and i'd have rather taken my chances keeping Sale and building the ol fashioned way. Cause the draft in baseball is a joke with so many Sox flops through the years. The tank/rebuild thing would have required amazing trades (not meh trades) and amazing draft picks to go with SMART GM/scouts to acquire some real bullpen pieces (besides closers, Sox have done a nice job there) to give the team a fighting chance in the era of starters going 5 1/3 innings max. Give me WINS forever. Tank jobs are for Sixers fans. Didn't the Bulls try to tank for a while there? They stink as well. GO SOX!
  7. Wonder what the Sox all time record in Detroit's new park (is it still called Comerica?) is. Sox are not built to win in big yard. Sox not built to win anywhere really but I can see why they consistently lose in Detroit. Still can't believe nobody got fired during the 10 game losing streak. It cost the Sox any relevance and makes it a wasted season. Puke loss today.
  8. I think this is one time the eye test aces all. Burger, folks, is no second baseman. OMG I see some ridiculously funny developments on bloops, grounders to his left, bullets to his right. Burger needs to be 1B/DH and that's that. 3B is acceptable but he's no Brooks Robinson there either.
  9. Prolly Lawrence. I've been a bit down on my hometown of Chi cause of reasons I shouldn't bring up here. Peace out.
  10. If Sox played their games in Detroit ... wow, they'd have Benintendi-like HR totals for most of their hitters.
  11. Only if they can rattle off 8-10 wins in a row at some point. That losing streak was quite disconcerting (edit fix) and not conducive to making the postseason. Thanks Pedro for your work during that skid.
  12. That 10-game losing streak is/was so "White Sox." Thanks guys for basically ending the season before it got started. Now we have to endure the bitterly cold winter before Sox try to stay in the race for more than a month again.
  13. So much bad about this loss. Four hits is disgusting. The no name pitcher we trotted out there stunk. Kelly's line is hilariously bad. He had seemed to be doing better. Getting boatraced by the Tigers, not hitting HRs on the road is a good reminder this team still blows. Overall if you look at the names of the guys who played and pitched today ... that's a lot of bad baseball players and pitchers. When our 'name' players don't hit (TA 0-4, Moncada 1-4) that's a recipe for a 7-3 loss to a bad team. p.s. Capt. obvious statement: Grandal has been lousy since he joined the Sox. I am not a fan. Today's performance by team in a big game: Solid F. Disgraceful
  14. It's not my money but is Benintendi at all valuable to a team in this day and age? I'd think the advanced stat lovers despise him for the fact he may not hit a HR all year.
  15. Good to see Alberto rip that fastball. Is he any good or a complete stiff? Glad to see that fall for Tim Anderson 3 hit night helps him bust loose IMO.
  16. That's a great post. To field a contender Sox scouts had to pick the best 1B and 3B and make some trades. They won't pull the trigger on trades and it has hurt the franchise for sure.
  17. Damn, another guy who can't make it in the bigs. it's so difficult to stick unless u got 5 tools.
  18. Well ... that one stunk. One of the 60 you will lose no matter what? i prefer to shut up and wait for the next game while acknowledging that was a horsebleep performance. Four hits? Cmon. ... You know I'm starting to think Moncada is a huge key to this team. Cmon Moncada! Emerge!!!
  19. OK folks, six runs on four hits and Sox win vs a Central team. Again. Nice. I hate to be the positive guy but Pedro appears to have the Sox playing better vs. the Central. This is big. Our former managers couldn't get that done. Folks, the Sox may still stink but this month has been pretty dandy. Call me a pollyanna fan but the gosh awful pitching has been way better and the hitters are somewhat hitterish. Baby, you gotta believe at times, Thanx Pedro for getting the guys to do a bit better vs, the Central. These teams suck and Sox can beat them. Thanx.
  20. Nice win. Wake us all up when the team hits .500. But I'll applaud any victory. Good job Sox.
  21. That was one big LOL of a game. Wow. How bad was that? Eventually I'll realize once and for all this team blows even by Central Div. standards. What a fail tonight.
  22. That would be funny though. If Sox can somehow get to .500 I'd suspect Sox would win the division.
  23. I'd agree but he'd prolly tear hammies a lot bending and moving up and down that much.
  24. I think they are afraid of hammy problems. Lot of guys not running this year.
