  1. It just sucks the team laid down in April and dropped 10 in a row. Inexcusable. The team however had a nice win today and I'm trying to just watch the games and not look at the Sox pathetic record. Hope I can stick to that.
  2. Nice win because of the long ball, pitching and decent defense (the throw by Robert). I hate modern baseball but Sox won the way teams win in this era tonight. Nice to see Elvis go deep with 2 men on base. It seems like we are hitting more HRs with men on base these days. Last year it was all solo shots.
  3. Sox talent evaluators are so lousy. Sad they didn't know Elvis was done.
  4. Too bad he's emerged as another brittle guy. Cmon Sox, you'll never win til u get this injury thing under control. Maybe it's not the training staff. Didn't have these probs under Herm. Sad.
  5. You are right. I was just hoping maybe in some weird baseball oddity/fluke the Sox would follow the 10-game losing streak with 9 or 10 in a row. Yeah I've written them off but there's that weird part about "in baseball something different happens every day" I was hoping would envelope the Sox. My bad.
  6. That's why today is so depressing. Sox have to win, win, win. Seven hits in 12 innings won't win games and truly is disgusting. Too many lousy hitters on this team sadly. Wasted a good start. Can't hit. I'd see a bright spot in Eloy IF the Sox hadn't lost 10 in a row. It's desperation time now and Sox failed. Bummer.
  7. Not good. Can Hamilton play 2B? Move Elvis over to 3B. ... This is a bad development, however, at least Anderson is back.
  8. That was nice to win. It's nice to flash some speed (Beni and Hamilton baby). Not sure why Cease didn't dominate but the bullpen was OK. Great to see Eloy stroke that single. And these homers with men on base are nice, Way to go, Robert. Still haven't bought in, but if u are gonna lose 10 in a row, at least it's nice to get 2 back vs. the Twins. Hope the Sox don't concede Thursday and sweep those bastards. Team has so much work to do but I congratulate them for a fine win today. p.s.haven't forgot Timmy. Nice hitting to RF baby.
  9. I just read morrissey's story. My fave part: "Not all rebuilds work. I’ve been preaching that for years, but it’s hard to get the true believers to look up from their Baseball America Top 50 Draft Prospects articles. Just because the Cubs and the Astros used rebuilds to win World Series titles doesn’t mean every team that launches a rebuild will be holding up a trophy a few years later. Now Sox fans know it. Now Reinsdorf knows it."
  10. Good to win on dog night. Perfect night for dog night as it was not 90 degrees for the poor dogs who can handle chill in the air after the cold of winter with no problem. I'm glad Sox won but this team now has zero margin for error. Just has to win 9 of 10 or 10 of 11 or something. You know you are a worn jaded fan when you like seeing Billy Hamilton out there.
  11. Good to shuffle some bodies IMO. At least Hamilton like Elvis has played a lot in MLB. Mabe they'll bond and help us creep back to .500. I have NOT bought in obviously with the team buried already but I can hope.
  12. I'm angry. I'm out. Let's win in extras with me being out good luck. Yes a sport shouldn't anger me this much. Peace out. Let me watch a walkoff on the highlights, Sox!
  13. Can't see Hanser being the hero. Mabe though?
  14. Shouldn't be this difficult. Thanks for nothing Mr. Haseley. Geez.
  15. Cmon. This is the new White Sox. We won't hit into a 6-4-3. We won't.
  16. If Eloy can make contact and get him to third we prolly win. Not that tough Eloy. Do it.
  17. Way to go Billy. Throw beat u and u avoided the tag.
  18. The throw beat him. Double ugh. He's out.
  19. Kudos to the ump for agreeing to call that a ball after Andrew showed up the ump. I'll take it.
  20. Do you all agree we 'should' win this game?
  21. That homer especially pissed me off. Win the darn game.
  22. The shots they've shown of the crowd. If they told the truth, there can't be 2,000-3,000 there. Basically nobody is there relatively speaking.
  23. This is a big game if the Sox are going to actually try to compete this season. No excuses. 2-2 in bottom of eighth, home team should have advantage, especially a desperate home team.
  24. Saddest part is the failure of Colas at least for now. The harsh me says he's just another stiff Sox prospect who isn't gonna be anything decent in MLB. The nice me blames management for giving him opportunities but during April. Prolly shoulda done the oppo; let him start out the season in AAA then bring him up. Whatever, he looks like a failed prospect with horrid stats through 76 at bats. I'd rather he had 76 at bats in the minors then call him up, but the Sox rarely make the right call.
  25. I agree. Because the Sox laid out a plan (the tank job, rebuild with stud draft picks and a couple trades involving our good players) and the plan failed so miserably (Chicago teams should NEVER TRY TO LOSE; this once was one of the greatest cities of the world for gosh sakes; city of big shoulders!), I would only rebound mentally if Jerry sold the team. At this point I wouldn't mind the Sox moving and Chicago's south city getting an expansion team. This year's start, to have a team out of it after 4 weeks is just sad and unacceptable. Only reason to go to a game is for the smells and visuals at the ballpark and the eats. No reason to go watch these bums play ball. Sell the team Jerry, please?
