  1. That was a big game. Robert should have played. To get shut out in a rubber game seems king of pathetic to me. Like Sox were OK with getting one of three on the road. This team could go either way. Right now I sense .500 ceiling again, likely a little below, kind of like the team's current record. No chance this is a contender tho. Kinda sad cause Sox have had contenders before.
  2. Glad the Sox bats have been alive. I'm really glad Colas is a regular starter. Also Vaughn and Sheets appear to have a clue, knock on wood.
  3. I don't even miss Eloy anymore. Out of sight again I've given up on him. (Unsolicited commentary by me). -- Timmy is one, good baseball player.
  4. Good start to that inning and love Oscar's hustle in stealing second but some rotten at bats that half inning especially Grandal. My gosh he has been a lousy hitter since joining the Sox.
  5. Mock TWTW all we want. Sox early this season look like the recent teams of the rebuild. Virtually no WTW. Or maybe Fathom is right. Team has very little talent.
  6. No one in power u mean. This fan has always wanted him back although I do enjoy him in his current role. He's still around giving his opinions.
  7. You'd have to check the archives to read my take on that. I've grown smarter thru the years to know what topics to not re-live and opinionate on here.
  8. Ozzie's ship has sailed for reasons we've all written a million times before. I just wish all Soxtalkers would admit my assertion about Ozzie: He is passionate about winning (only exception the Sunday lineup thing) and he truly truly loved every minute playing for the White Sox and loves the White Sox.
  9. Sox can't even get hot with the jolt of a new manager. Teams, even bad ones, often take off for 10 days or so under new direction. Yet Sox so far this year are .500ish like last year. Lynn's pitching line today is one of the ugliest a starter can have. Can u imagine making that kind of money and having a line like that? Wow.
  10. If he really lost 25 pounds then I do commend him. With all the money invested in baseball, you'd think the Sox or Eloy himself would spend some time with THE BEST trainers in sports to figure this out. Is there any hope for a guy that big n tall to avoid these type injuries? If there is ... pay the expert and get him expert advice/training. From.The.Best. Hopefully the Sox have done this.
  11. I like all the base hits I saw in the highlights of the game at mlb.com. Maybe we've learned from the Astros, who go with the pitch a lot and smoke regular hits, not just homers. Good to see Robert's batting average and Beni doing OK. Sox lineup 'seems' to be decent even without Eloy. But our pitching and defense problems prolly will mean a ceiling of about .500 again. I see our starting pitching as being average to above average and the bullpen blah to a failure cept for Lopez. I love today's win though.
  12. Wow Eloy out 2-3 weeks. As far as I'm concerned I've written him off. Obviously the Sox either have horrific trainers or the guy just can't stay healthy with his body type. He's not going to magically escape hammy problems in the future. He just isn't so I've written him off mentally. We'll get him for 4-5 game stretches or 1-2 week stretches maybe but the poor guy is brittle. Or we have awful trainers/body experts getting him to sculpt his body to say 210 pounds instead of 240? Burger has potential to be a decent DH me thinks.
  13. Seems odd Jose still speaks thru an interpreter. I'd think like Ozzie he could make a lot of money as a commentator in Chicago after he retires. I love me some Jose Abreu. Star.
  14. This one surprises me. Hope we lift and pull at GRate this season. It's the winning formula at the Sox home park. Got to elevate in this day and age at a park this hitter friendly.
  15. Nobody in their right minds can be mad at the big picture right now. A split on the road vs. Houston is monumental. Keep splitting road series and learn to win series at home and the team could go .500 on the road and 10 over at home and be in contention with that kind of record.
  16. I actually believed this and was so happy for just a moment. I'd rather get rid of the whole bunch of relievers cept Lopez and pitch 22 year olds from our farm system. The Joe Kellys and Graveman's and Diekman's make me illish.
  17. Not that mad cause Houston is light years better than the Sox, but the Sox weaknesses are going to make them non contenders in the division. The bullpen is insanely awful. I guess the lineup still could be extremely productive in home games. We shall see. Losing 3 of 4 to Houston, however, is so White Sox.
  18. Amazing how baseball has become home run derby in the eyes of many. Plus a batch of Ks and BBs thrown in.
  19. Sox bullpen is so bad mabe they need to move some more guys from starter to pen. Any logical candidates and/or guys to replace them in the rotation? Sox are going to lose so many games while trying to get the last 9-11 outs of games. I'd rather give the team a fighting chance and move some starters to the pen if possible.
  20. Hard to imagine Hahn going into this season with this bad a bullpen. I guess he can be forgiven as nobody knew Liam would be out. ... I will say Pedro should now know. With a bullpen this bad never use a guy two nights in a row. See if you can get lucky on a given night with the 'fresh' guys even if they reek.
  21. Sox bullpen blows. Average at best. Graveman and Diekman lol. Not good. Just hope Sox can somehow go .500ish on the road and be good at GRate this year. Never good to blow a 3-0 lead no matter who the opponent is. Also Sox hitters 11 K's one walk. 1-1 is a good start but tonight was annoying game. If Sox can split this series we should throw 'em a parade, though. It'd be a great start.
  22. Yeah he's not gonna hit HRs that is for sure. Bat him second though behind Timmy. Move the runner etc.
  23. Sox facing a great pitching staff and contender. Just gotta hope mightily for 2 of 3. Then see how they can hit vs. SF at home.
  24. Did anybody notice Abreu not talking with Timmy at 1B?
  25. Tomorrow move Robert down in the order please. Move up Benni.
