  1. Wow Eloy out 2-3 weeks. As far as I'm concerned I've written him off. Obviously the Sox either have horrific trainers or the guy just can't stay healthy with his body type. He's not going to magically escape hammy problems in the future. He just isn't so I've written him off mentally. We'll get him for 4-5 game stretches or 1-2 week stretches maybe but the poor guy is brittle. Or we have awful trainers/body experts getting him to sculpt his body to say 210 pounds instead of 240? Burger has potential to be a decent DH me thinks.
  2. Seems odd Jose still speaks thru an interpreter. I'd think like Ozzie he could make a lot of money as a commentator in Chicago after he retires. I love me some Jose Abreu. Star.
  3. This one surprises me. Hope we lift and pull at GRate this season. It's the winning formula at the Sox home park. Got to elevate in this day and age at a park this hitter friendly.
  4. Nobody in their right minds can be mad at the big picture right now. A split on the road vs. Houston is monumental. Keep splitting road series and learn to win series at home and the team could go .500 on the road and 10 over at home and be in contention with that kind of record.
  5. I actually believed this and was so happy for just a moment. I'd rather get rid of the whole bunch of relievers cept Lopez and pitch 22 year olds from our farm system. The Joe Kellys and Graveman's and Diekman's make me illish.
  6. Not that mad cause Houston is light years better than the Sox, but the Sox weaknesses are going to make them non contenders in the division. The bullpen is insanely awful. I guess the lineup still could be extremely productive in home games. We shall see. Losing 3 of 4 to Houston, however, is so White Sox.
  7. Amazing how baseball has become home run derby in the eyes of many. Plus a batch of Ks and BBs thrown in.
  8. Sox bullpen is so bad mabe they need to move some more guys from starter to pen. Any logical candidates and/or guys to replace them in the rotation? Sox are going to lose so many games while trying to get the last 9-11 outs of games. I'd rather give the team a fighting chance and move some starters to the pen if possible.
  9. Hard to imagine Hahn going into this season with this bad a bullpen. I guess he can be forgiven as nobody knew Liam would be out. ... I will say Pedro should now know. With a bullpen this bad never use a guy two nights in a row. See if you can get lucky on a given night with the 'fresh' guys even if they reek.
  10. Sox bullpen blows. Average at best. Graveman and Diekman lol. Not good. Just hope Sox can somehow go .500ish on the road and be good at GRate this year. Never good to blow a 3-0 lead no matter who the opponent is. Also Sox hitters 11 K's one walk. 1-1 is a good start but tonight was annoying game. If Sox can split this series we should throw 'em a parade, though. It'd be a great start.
  11. Yeah he's not gonna hit HRs that is for sure. Bat him second though behind Timmy. Move the runner etc.
  12. Sox facing a great pitching staff and contender. Just gotta hope mightily for 2 of 3. Then see how they can hit vs. SF at home.
  13. Did anybody notice Abreu not talking with Timmy at 1B?
  14. Tomorrow move Robert down in the order please. Move up Benni.
  15. Love me some Timmy continuing to go with the pitch to RF. Not a fan of lift n pull.
  16. One game means nothing but we can sure celebrate it. Glad to see Vaughn stroke that crucial hit. That's a huge base hit for him. Glad to see Colas get his first hit out of the way. Glad to see Grandal get a key hit. And of course Cease was a true star and I'm glad our new closer got the save after the bomb. Needless to say Sox in the recent past have not been able to win games in the ninth inning and look like they belong. Nice win and my guy Jose has to feel dumb letting that smash go right thru his legs in his first game with a new team. I'll give the entire team an A and stay away from a few negatives on my mind after the game.
  17. I hope Jose hits two homers, drives in five yet the White Sox win today, 7-5.
  18. So what team will pick up Leury? Play ball baby!
  19. I've watched some Sox highlights and it looks like Colas (as well as Vaughn and Moncada) are going with the lift and launch stroke. Being that is how hitters are supposed to hit now, I'd expect those 3 guys to MASH a lotta home runs. The ball certainly didn't look dead on the home runs I saw hit on replay this spring. So please Mr. Colas and the others, go ahead and lift and pull to the tune of 40ish homers and when you have two strikes just try not to hit into too many DPs.
  20. I'm enthused bout Colas. Give him his at bats!!! Don't play him one time a week. Thanx.
  21. Folks ... Oscar Colas is the Sox's Tatis. How long before Colas-mania takes the SouthSide by storm? This guy is just what the Sox need. Plant him in RF and give him his 580 at bats. What do the Sox have to lose?? Play the guy and let's see if Oscar and Pedro are the new look White Sox. This guy has the potential of bringing back the Sox diehards. Let.Him.Mash. Sincerely, A rabid fan who wants postseason baseball in Chicago. p.s. If for some reason Oscar fails don't blame experience. The guy is 24 for gosh sakes. Let him hit, baby.
  22. That's a shame. But didn't Hawk get to the point he couldn't make a home run call? He couldn't see the ball anymore? Maybe they could have worked on that with special glasses. Too bad if the team axed him.
  23. How much is a can of brewski on opening day? Pls let us know.
  24. I am capable of turning on the team quickly. But I will give the new manager a chance. And I see Moncada has blasted a couple homers going oppo field. I'm hopeful he will wake up n be stellar. Elvis excites me way more than that stiff we had from the Pirates at 2B. Elvis gives off a vibe he actually wants to win and contribute to wins (not that the former Pirate didn't want to win; he just stunk IMO). I am excited for the start of the year. I almost feel my guy, Jose, has retired so out of sight out of mind. I'm not worried bout Jose. And it is good Leury is gone cause so many fans on here depised him in the lineup. Not sure if there will be somebody to pick on mercilessly. I do fear it'll be Sheets if he plays at all. Or Vaughn. Give them a chance. It's not easy to play sporadically. I don't think it'll be Grandal. Some of the guys Sox acquired for the tank/rebuild are still accepted as good hitters cause the rebuild was exciting to so many (not me). So we shall see. I for one have positive feelings w/Tony baby gone and Pedro in.
