  1. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 3, 2011 -> 06:57 PM) Another example of a guy who is about to get sent down, or outright released pitching a workman like gem around our inability to hit and our stupidity on the basepaths. We are efficient at one thing, generating outs quickly and quietly. That's a good way to put it. The Sox generate outs with the best of 'em.
  2. Soriano as at .262, 14 35. We'd have a parade for Dunn if he was near that.
  3. What is Beckham doing? Not that it would have mattered.
  4. Great stop by Pena, but horrible throw. It's almost like what he did AFTER the grab was an error.
  5. QUOTE (Wanne @ Jul 3, 2011 -> 06:45 PM) This game has the dreaded "we won the first two games of the series and don't give a s*** about today" feel to it... I disagree. It's the same I've seen from the offense over and over.
  6. QUOTE (FlySox87 @ Jul 3, 2011 -> 07:40 PM) Three lazy groundballs. And no working of the counts. Sigh... It's been a pathetic series for the hitters in Wrigley except for late game in Game One.
  7. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 3, 2011 -> 07:38 PM) I'd say he has absolutely no pressure, as they can't really take it away from him. It'd be embarrassing, though, to be a .230 hitter in the AS game.
  8. Next 19 games against teams in this lousy division. It's up to the Sox, really. Either stay pathetic against the division or make some noise. This offense is abysmal still, showing no signs of life.
  9. CQ has the pressure on him to have a good week before the AS game. If he went 0-for-25 or so, his batting average would be about .220, not all star numbers. If he went 12-25 he'd be looking good.
  10. QUOTE (Chisoxrd5 @ Jul 3, 2011 -> 07:34 PM) It would make more sense to DH Pierre and let Viciedo play in the OF. Improves the OF defense and prevents teams from taking an automatic extra base on hits to LF. I want to see Dayan out there before I agree he improves the defense.
  11. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jul 3, 2011 -> 07:34 PM) Ozzie is a sucker for lefty righty match ups. Hes a dumbs***, do you expect different? It would be nice to see the stiffs he rewards with Sunday lineup playing time could actually come through. I don't think he deserves to be called a dumbs*** though.
  12. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 3, 2011 -> 07:33 PM) He would play RF and DH. When in RF, Q would shift to LF. But I would love for him to just DH for two weeks while Dunn drinks Kaluha on his farm. That's really a good idea. Phantom DL for Dunn and give Viciedo the at bats for two weeks and see what happens. Let Dunn have a minor league rehab stint after he comes back. A full 3 weeks off. Is that allowed?
  13. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 3, 2011 -> 07:31 PM) WTF? I just realized Teahen was playing. Morel was 2-4 Friday, 1-3 (w/ a BB) yesterday. And has played stellar D, per usual. It's another Sunday lineup. It would be nice if Teahen hit today since his defense isn't close to Morel.
  14. If we had lost yesterday we'd be in bad moods on this thread today, with the Sox offense so lousy. Thank goodness for our pitching yesterday to guarantee the series win.
  15. Pitchers just dismiss Dunn as if they would if you or I were batting. It's so easy.
  16. Bad at bat by Lexi. Looks like this guy is serving up meat. No way Dunn can strike out.
  17. Teahen and Dunn is pretty weak defensively. I hope it doesn't cost us a game.
  18. QUOTE (FlySox87 @ Jul 3, 2011 -> 06:10 PM) Why on Earth is Dunn batting third? He shouldn't even be in the lineup at all when there's no DH, but instead Ozzie puts him in two days in a row and then bats him in the best hitter's slot. I've been tired of Ozzie for a long time now, but this seals the deal. Signature coming shortly. I'm sick of Dunn batting third as well.
  19. Humber's performance today was really really impressive. Is this guy for real?? Man he's a great great story this year.
