  1. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ May 25, 2011 -> 07:52 PM) The win last night makes this game a nice one to win but no great shakes if you lose. It gets this trip going in the right direction though. Yeah, we always want to concede losing series. No great shakes? This team needs to win and win and win.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ May 25, 2011 -> 07:51 PM) Could the ground rule double have been caught? Hey greg, too bad Texas wasn't bunting! You're nuts with hatred of the bunt in late game situations or situations where it's first and second and nobody out and you want to expand on a lead in middle to late innings. This is early game. The bunt has it's place. All managers bunt when it's called for. Sox look dead today.
  3. On the last possession, I realize everybody in the universe says the MVP has to take the final shot. He also took it on the previous possession. But with LeBron James guarding, it may have taken some balls, but should we have set up a play rather than have Rose just take it? I know this is brutal second guessing and you've got to let your star, the MVP have the ball in crunch time ... but it didn't work. I credit the defense more than blaming Rose. He's only 22. In the future I'm sure Rose will own the opponent in that situation, but it sucks tonight to lose. I do think the Bulls can win Game Five. I sure hope they give it all and like you said, force those assholes to work for the title. No reason we shouldn't win Game Five unless mentally we're decimated.
  4. Always great to beat a very good team on the road. Nice job by CQ and Sergio. And Dunn hits a bomb. If only he turns back into Dunn. That would be good. Jake ... we hardly knew ya tonight cause of the rain.
  5. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ May 25, 2011 -> 04:37 AM) My god you're just as terrible a pessimist as you were an optimist. I guess asking you to be sensible is just too much? I really don't think anything I said was that outlandish. We're 11 back in loss column I believe. We can't beat the Twins head to head, the Tigers head to head. We usually split with the Royals or are 2 games better in the season series. I guess we may own Cleveland this year. Being 11 back it will take a ridiculous streak just to get it to 5 or 6 games. What did I say that is that outlandish?
  6. Sergio looked like a whole different pitcher tonight. Wish he'd thrown that slider the other day instead of that meaty fastball. Oh well, nobody's perfect. Sergio way to go.
  7. Sergio wasn't even trying to tag him.
  8. If this doesn't go extra innings, they'll be back at the hotel by 3:30 or 4. Probably get 4.5 hours sleep max and yet we'll demand they be perfect tomorrow.
  9. Three home runs in one game for CQ. Win it for CQ! Don't blow this lead. Quentin has talent. Everybody knows that by now.
  10. We need more runs which I know is an understatement.
  11. I can't believe they sent AJ. He's too slow on a pop fly by Juan.
  12. You guys slay me. The bunt was TOTALLY 100 percent the right call. Period.
  13. The Rangers executed the bunt perfectly last inning. That's why they are the champs.
  14. By the way, I wouldn't have envisioned this Bulls faceplant after winning game one with the dunkfest/highlight reel rout.
  15. So Dunn and Carlos flip flop in the lineup and we get 3 home runs. Nice move, Oz. (no need to say he should have done it earlier; Dunn deserved to bat high in order cause of his past)
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ May 25, 2011 -> 04:45 AM) Who the f*** cares I do. So that's one. You want a White Sox player to have 2 home runs wiped away?? Nice blast Dunn. Keep it up.
  17. Those people who think we can contend with this bullpen and other deficiencies are so severely mistaken. These are Little League pitchers
  18. Very very predictable. At least Carlos got his 2 homers.
  19. Poor CQ looked sick on that K. Two homers so far tho.
  20. You guys that hate Juan have to realize he's not been THAT bad of late. Some won't forgive him for the defensive blunders the first couple weeks of the season but he's actually doing OK.
  21. No matter if Sox win or lose I'm glad it continues for Carlos' sake. Two homers getting wiped out would SUCK.
  22. Not to be a defeatist but with our bullpen, I think we were better off getting this rained out. We got to go thru Olman (sp) and the other stiffs to get to Crain, Thornton, Sergio. I don't like our chances even with the 2 run lead.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 24, 2011 -> 12:28 PM) Every guy you want to trade other than Dunn has some level of no-trade protection as well. I would think they'd be happy to leave.
  24. Oops I forgot in my long post. Yes Rios sucks. He's so bad. Please trade him. Although he's not as bad as Dunn. Rios actually has contributed to a win or two as I recall. Dunn has done nothing positive.
  25. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 24, 2011 -> 04:28 PM) Wow, I can't even imagine the b****ing on this website if we were to rebuild. We would be terrible for years to come with no guarantee of this amazing future everyone associates with rebuilding. We're better off going for the division and hoping to maintain our large payroll. That's really the only way to compensate for our bad minor league system and have a chance of competing. I'm not prepared to be the Pittsburgh Pirates for the next seven years. Remember, we won't go over slot, don't have much of a presence in Latin America, and don't have enough tradable assets to replenish our system. We'd have to suck Pirates style to get the young talent to needed to successfully complete a rebuild. You say we're better off going for the division and hoping to maintain payroll. Who's going for the division? This team has been out of it almost the entire season and has shown no signs of being a division contender unless for some reason we have Cleveland's number and beat them all year. I mean win almost every game against them. We still can't beat the Twins head to head and have only played them twice. They will dominate us again this year. We can't beat Det. We'll go .500 at best vs. KC. Sox are toast, so why not dump salary??? Try something different and that means dumping Rios, Peavy, Dunn, Mark or Jackson and AJP. Start the reloading now. Dump as much salary as you can.
