  1. Are you saying Thornton is only going to pitch against lefties? Some people want him to close. Uh he'll face a lot of righties as a closer.
  2. Great job by Peavy pitching around the meaningless 2 out double.
  3. AJ is the man. 87 pitches? Of course Peavy continues. No brainer.
  4. You know damn well Oz would have been crucified for not pitching around AJ.
  5. Correct call letting Peavy hit here. No f***ing way you pinch hit. Let him strike out if he must but it's too early to pull him.
  6. The immortal Lou Piniella pitches to AJ and he whacks it off the wall. Oz would have been crucified for the same decision. Beautiful hit AJ. Way to make 'em pay.
  7. Paulie looked absolutely silly on that pitch in the dirt. Then he comes back and PULLS a shot to left. Stud.
  8. Paul Konerko is one hell of a hitter. What a f***ing stud.
  9. If the favored son tweeted that he isn't going to tweet any more about the Sox, that means dad and JR laid down some kind of law. Now whether Oz and KW can meet without punching each other is anybody's guess. I still say this is all about former big leaguers' egos. Oz was a much better player than KW and think he's knows more baseball than KW and they don't get along. Period.
  10. Exactly. Many of you just f***ing ignore him when he gets the job done in victories and that pisses me off. Why no credit? Bobby rocks! Just like Oz getting fired I hope we trade Bobby so many of you get your wish. It'll be fun to see somebody else get ripped after blowing tie games. Oh wait, it'll be Oz getting the blame for using the wrong closer. I don't understand the cliche where fans get sick of guys who have been around a long time. Bobby is still an effective closer whether you believe it or not.
  11. I wouldn't be too many Kenny Hates Prospects. AJ will be happy if he goes to a contender probably.
  12. Notice Jim Leyland's kid got picked in the eighth round like KW's did, also. Seems like Round Eight is the wink, wink nepotism round. Ozzie's kid got screwed. Can't blame Oz for being pissed. The rich take care of each other normally. It's obvious the two hate each other. Two former ballplayers; Oz was much better than KW as a player and I'm sure he lets him know that on a regular basis.
  13. You are right. They wouldn't have won it, but no sense to kick a dead man. Rest in peace. Good thing his relatives knew the error of the ol man's ways. He was a dumb cheap man I guess, but I hope he's happy upstairs.
  14. I tip my cap to Omar who I normally criticize and hate. I again applaud Bobby, but all his naysayers are quiet again. How bout you people who constantly dog on Bobby give him some love. My god ... he's Bobby f***ing Jenks. I again credit Omar, who I have despised, and applaud Beckham, who I haven't buried and applaud Danks for a great game! But where's the Bobby love?? He's still amazing.
  15. That sounds an awful lot like the Cubs' annual cry, "Wait til next year!" It's all a fluke til the end of April when we are 8 games back again.
  16. Great post. If he's 24 ... my god how long do you have to wait for him in the big leagues? You want him to be a 26 year old rookie? Baseball coddles these guys too much. Let him sink or swim.
  17. Great game. Entertaining series. So happy. I'm another one of those who froze their yard on 103rd and Homan Ave as kid. It was good ice and we'd play every day as you'd get 2 weeks of zero temperatures it seems at a time back then. Also played at the park on 107th or 111th Street I forget which. It seemed the ice was good almost all winter. Fun. Everybody loved the Hawks at that time. Lost track of them during the s*** years. Follow them closely most all this year, definitely all the playoffs. I went to tons of games as a kid and loved it. So I am a 3/4 bandwagon fan, but have the history as I grew up a huge fan and only lost interest because nobody gives a f*** about hockey in this part of the country. Congrats to those who have been fans the past 20 years. I thoroughly enjoyed each playoff series, watched a lot of games and of course every minute in the Finals. The best team won. Hawks played really well the last 2 games I thought. Tonight woulda been weird had Philly stolen that one. I kind of thought that last shot was a goal and wondered WTF why no red light. Congrats to you diehards. Get drunk. s*** the casual fan still can be happy cause if only the true diehards went to the parade, it wouldn't be that crowded now, would it?
  18. How could anybody in Chicago go to this game when the Hawks were playing? Was it really 21,000? Maybe the fans brought radios or mini TVs or something. I can't see missing history over this piss poor White Sox team.
  19. If AJ gets traded, I fully expect Castro merely to become the starter, don't you?
  20. Do you guys really think we stand a chance in Game Six? I just can't see Philly quitting all of a sudden. We never beat them at Wakovia. I'm hoping but truly do any of you think we stand a reasonable chance? I think it's similar to Game Five only Philly's way and we gots to go to a Game 7. How can you think otherwise? Philly isn't all of a sudden going to tank. Philly has been a resilient lot the entire playoffs why stop in Game Six now? We're going to have to buckle down and win Game 7 in Chicago me thinks. You??
  21. If you really feel Peavy is this bad and has no value, I'm assuming you are in the fire KW camp as well as fire Oz camp. Because if Peavy is at the point scouts would be dumb to want him, then we can assume that was the worst trade in White Sox history. I still can't imagine one of the wealthy teams not thinking he could help them, just because he's Peavy. Has his value dropped that far because of his horrendous season?
  22. Aside from opening day, this season has been a total disaster and utterly boring and frustrating both.
  23. Our manager is a rich former player with a huge ego. The Sox knew that when they hired him. It's not like he needs the job. The fire Oz rants really are as boring as my save Ozzie rants. We know you hate him. People tell me to stop beating the dead horse. What about the Ozzie haters. Yes, we know, you feel he sucks in all regards. Hopefully you guys will get your wish. The next manager will never say anything controversial (most don't) and it'll be back to the dull coachspeak many of you apparently so desire.
  24. OK, then simply fire KW for the nepotism shown when his son, the stiff, was chosen in eighth round. Kid sucks, nobody wanted him. Sox take him in 8th round. Bye bye Kenny for nepotism.
