9/8 Oakland at White Sox 7:11 on CSN+
Nice. 30 HRS and he's pretty good on defense. He's the king of scoop.

Is Paulie close to 30 home runs? That would be cool if he could blast 30 this year.

Randy is so bad it's laughable. Gimme a bat NOW! p.s. He's gonna get killed by a line drive soon.

I never thought of that, but could be spot on!

Nice ERA for Randy No Neck Williams.

Wow, just checked in. Sox getting clobbered by another bad team. Has any Sox team ever tanked so badly against bad teams?? Generally we do OK at home against very good teams.

Why did we trade Jim Thome?
How bout Mike Sweeney for DH and Joe Crede for utility infielder? The bad back brigade. This thread didn't need to be so long. The answer to the thread's question: "So he could pinch hit for the Dodgers and bat once a game til the WS when he DHs against righty pitching."

Will KW continue to remake us into a speedier team?
Pods has proven if he's healthy he's a good hitter. Not a good defender though. And a sometimes s***ty baserunner. He deserves to come back, though. He's had a very very good to great season with the Sox.

White Sox Winner!
Good to hear, Chris. Maybe Bosox nation are a kind sort of fan.

White Sox Winner!
The best news is we shut up all those red clad Bosox fans who invaded our stadium. 3 of 4 is a nice way to shut them up. I wonder if there were any or many fights between Sox and Sox fans.

Joe Crede Possibly Retiring
I disagree. The turf makes a big difference. Ask any doctor. Joe Crede is a great great baseball player and I will forever owe him a debt of gratitude for the title in 05. Go Joe!!!

Octavio Dotel
Time to try somebody else in his role. Please find a way to dump him.

Clayton Richard
Good counterarguments. If Peavy is healthy and a true No. 1 next year, it certainly will be a major plus. We need a Verlander type if we want to take the next step to greatness instead of mediocrity. I hope he's dominant. The rotation should be Peavy, Mark, Floyd, Danks and Freddy, with a good mix of lefty/righty.

Joe Crede Possibly Retiring
Wow. It's not like he isn't a tough player. Have you known anybody with back problems? There's no way you can play baseball effectively with back problems. None. His ass of an agent was stupid getting him a deal with a team that plays on turf. This was a year he should have signed with a team that plays on grass, any team that plays on grass.

The What's Wrong with Rios Thread
I couldn't resist adding my take to the Rios thread, which I didn't create. Didn't mean to anger anybody with the broken record. Don't worry, I'm not gay. I even liked the Shawn Johnson pic that was posted where somebody thought she would get fat someday. I just think Rios looks pretty good out there. Unfortunately he can't hit the ball where they ain't. I said I'd give him a clean slate next spring unlike Swisher who I will despise forever.

White Sox Winner!
Yup, I"d have remained optimistic til the end had we just kept it w/in four games (five max in loss column) entering all those games with the Tigers. The road trip took care of that. It's amazing we've become a damn good home team; pretty bad road club.

9/7 Boston at White Sox 1:05 on CSN
That's odd, because my eyes have told me except for the last 2 outings he's been abysmal.

Joe Crede Possibly Retiring
The other part of his schtick was fielding awesomely and getting clutch hits. I thought the statue idea of him popping up was rude.

High school football
Any prep football fans in here? What are Brother Rice's chances vs. St. Rita next Friday. Not sure where the game is played. I love Brother Rice football.

Why did we trade Jim Thome?
Thome has said he wants to come back, so bring him back, but like somebody said, cut his at bats against lefties he's had trouble with. He's going to be used to reduced at bats after this Dodger pinch hit fiasco thing.

9/7 Boston at White Sox 1:05 on CSN
He's actually had 2 good outings in a row I think. I didn't get to see either on TV so I can't comment on how he looked. How did he look aside from the good results??

The What's Wrong with Rios Thread
How bout this one: He makes a helluva lot of money and has security and no real motivation to excel. The not playing every day is a pretty lame excuse for a guy brought in to help us win a (s***ty) division. He contributed nothing, zip. I will say he does look good in a uniform and I am hoping for the best next spring when he obtains a new clean slate in my mind (until he proves he can or cannot cut it on the south side). This year however he has to be considered one of the team's biggest disappointments/flops.

9/7 Boston at White Sox 1:05 on CSN
Baseball is such a weird sport. We went 4-4 verus the Bosox in this stretch (not bad) and 3-4 versus the Yankees (not so bad) and yet just because all the losses were on that road trip, we fell so far back. The timing killed us. Coming back to kill them 3 of 4 in the Cell is very impressive.

9/7 Boston at White Sox 1:05 on CSN
Great sentiment. Nine games back in the loss column is laughable to even think we have a minute shot, but it's fun to WIN regardless.
