I got blasted last year on here for saying our relief was overrated. The ex-Royals relievers are NOT reliable. Jenks is great. The others are below average. Fathom is right; we're going to get swept this weekend and have to regroup. This isn't good after winning the series against the Yankees.

Don't succumb and punch anybody, Sox fans. You'll get thrown in jail. Peace. p.s. Should MacDougal be a starter? Converted to one? I personally think he sucks and that dates back to his days in KC. He's too wild. He ain't a world champion type player.
-
Usually when a guy needs surgery its best to suck it up and get it taken care of. If he can't throw, what good is he??? Right he's worthless.
-
Should Oz have let Mark get out of that jam or is that hindsight? Mac D is bad; so is Sisco. It was a different ballgame once Mac came in. In hindsight I'm sure Oz would rather have let mark try to get out of that jam.
-
We need to ship Mac and Sisco back to the Royals where they belong. Mac D cost us the game today pure and simple.

White Sox vs. Yankees, 5/16/07 Lets Play Two!! (W), (L)

Sisco like you said is worthless if he can't rear back let it go and throw strikes, not balls. Randy Johnson needs to start an offseason academy to teach tall guys how to pitch. -

I can't believe Crede, Dye and Paulie (nice HR in game one though) can't get it going. If they were having regular years we'd be 10 over .500 with our pitching. AJ too. Personally I'd rather have had a better offseason move than Erstad. -

We've got some horrid baseball players on this team to go with some slumping struggling proven veterans. Yuk. -

Is this Sox team destined to finish .490? -

Can't afford to do that when we finally get a clutch hit. Sox remain snakebit. When is this team going to start getting its head out. -

Dye didn't move the runners; Paulie whiffs. If we lose this game, our vets again fail us. -

If the Royals can play Buck and Pena every day why can't we play AJ and Iguchi every game? -

Ozuna, Mack, Sweeney, Molina ... yuk lineup in game two. -
I'd take Lee and Zambrano. They can keep the rest including Soriano.

Iguchi's at bat was just as horrific, more horrific as you say. I can't believe he looked at that curveball. With two strikes, our guys need to bat like Polanco of the Tigers. He makes contact and puts the ball in play. But I was responding in a Sweeney thread. He is a rookie but the Royals are a minor league team. Was I asking too much of Sweeney to line a single in that situation? Look at DeLaRosa's stats his previous game. He is no Sandy Koufax. -
That is the line of the year. If any Chicago writers are on here they will be clamoring to borrow your line. Great line. The Chicago Guppies vs. The Wrigley Yuppies next weekend.

Why does Sweeney get a free pass from everybody for his lousy at bat today with the bases loaded against DeLaRosito Stiffmeister? I like Sweeney, but if he launches a double there instead of ending the inning with the bases loaded, we probably get our heads out of our butts and win the game. The Royals suck. Not winning all three is an atrocity and shows again why it's going to be tough to play with Detroit and Cleveland. In this tough division we need to win all our home games against KC, truly a minor league team. -
Jenks, didn't you think it was big when Sweeney had the bad at bat with the bases loaded in a 1-1 game? He rifles a hit there and maybe Vazquez doesn't pitch like a horse's ass during the one bad inning. We still had an infield of Crede, Uribe, Iguchi and Konerko with Dye playing. He can't catch AJ every day. So why do you say it was over when the lineup was made?? because Erstad was sitting? Erstad isn't exactly a stud.
-
I like Sweeney and won't bury him by any means. However, his out today was the key out in the game. If he rifles a hit off DeLaRosa with bases loaded and two outs it's a different game. Yet another no name lefty mows down the Sox. Konerko where are you???? Jermaine???? Joe???

BUMPED::::::Toby Hall Possibly out for the season
greg775 replied to Steve9347's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Is there any hope he'll be back? We have so many automatic outs. -
I think Oz got sick of BA's anemic at bats and horrific batting stance and swing at the ball. Good fielder, tho.
-
Be logical ... would it not be wise to fire Walker right now at least? The team has plodded along the second half of last year, ST, and now this. A scapegoat is needed right now. This division is too tough to let it slip away in May.
-
I think it was a good article. He said one hot week this time of year can change everything. How can you argue with what he wrote? Like he pointed out, the signs are not good right now. This team is nothing without pitching and the long ball. The pitching has been good; no long ball.
-
But how much does the team miss Thome? I'd say a lot. The danger in blowing it up is the team could be down for years to come. My question is ... our team is built on the long ball. Will our home run hitters start hitting homers? We know they are not going to start stroking liners all over the field. If we don't start hitting home runs in bunches this team is going to lose at an alarming rate. AJ, Crede, Dye, Paulie, even Iguchi have to start hitting home runs. This team is incapable of manufacturing runs. So where are the homers?
-
Yup. I do believe Walker now should be fired. A shakeup is needed. He's the poor scapegoat.
