Official Save Sweeney and Boot Terrero thread
Why does Sweeney get a free pass from everybody for his lousy at bat today with the bases loaded against DeLaRosito Stiffmeister? I like Sweeney, but if he launches a double there instead of ending the inning with the bases loaded, we probably get our heads out of our butts and win the game. The Royals suck. Not winning all three is an atrocity and shows again why it's going to be tough to play with Detroit and Cleveland. In this tough division we need to win all our home games against KC, truly a minor league team.

White Sox vs. Royals, 5/13/07 (L)
Jenks, didn't you think it was big when Sweeney had the bad at bat with the bases loaded in a 1-1 game? He rifles a hit there and maybe Vazquez doesn't pitch like a horse's ass during the one bad inning. We still had an infield of Crede, Uribe, Iguchi and Konerko with Dye playing. He can't catch AJ every day. So why do you say it was over when the lineup was made?? because Erstad was sitting? Erstad isn't exactly a stud.

Whats our record with Sweeney starting
I like Sweeney and won't bury him by any means. However, his out today was the key out in the game. If he rifles a hit off DeLaRosa with bases loaded and two outs it's a different game. Yet another no name lefty mows down the Sox. Konerko where are you???? Jermaine???? Joe???

BUMPED::::::Toby Hall Possibly out for the season
Is there any hope he'll be back? We have so many automatic outs.

Possible theory about BA/Guillen feud
I think Oz got sick of BA's anemic at bats and horrific batting stance and swing at the ball. Good fielder, tho.

Blow This Team Up
Be logical ... would it not be wise to fire Walker right now at least? The team has plodded along the second half of last year, ST, and now this. A scapegoat is needed right now. This division is too tough to let it slip away in May.

Couch rips the White Sox for "staying put"
I think it was a good article. He said one hot week this time of year can change everything. How can you argue with what he wrote? Like he pointed out, the signs are not good right now. This team is nothing without pitching and the long ball. The pitching has been good; no long ball.

Blow This Team Up
But how much does the team miss Thome? I'd say a lot. The danger in blowing it up is the team could be down for years to come. My question is ... our team is built on the long ball. Will our home run hitters start hitting homers? We know they are not going to start stroking liners all over the field. If we don't start hitting home runs in bunches this team is going to lose at an alarming rate. AJ, Crede, Dye, Paulie, even Iguchi have to start hitting home runs. This team is incapable of manufacturing runs. So where are the homers?

White Sox vs. Angels, 5/4/07 (L)
Yup. I do believe Walker now should be fired. A shakeup is needed. He's the poor scapegoat.

White Sox vs. Angels, 5/4/07 (L)
This ship is sinking minus Thome. Are we close to becoming the Royals?

White Sox vs. Angels, 5/4/07 (L)
Attendance will be affected if the team continues to harbor no offense.

White Sox vs. Angels, 5/4/07 (L)
I sure do Fathom. YOu were right. No question.

White Sox vs. Angels, 5/4/07 (L)
Is this the penalty we get for winning it all 2 years ago? Horrid baseball?

White Sox vs. Angels, 5/4/07 (L)
The Sox should try to make an out. Then they might get a hit.

2007 White Sox Catch-All Thread
Joe needs to start hitting or we're going no where fast. This team is in trouble. We're in danger of being buried in our division if we don't start hitting/winning.

The Greg Walker Lynch mob thread
That is amazing. Walker should be reassigned over this. Bring up the minor league hitting coach, not that it will matter. Fathom said it right. Nobody could make this lineup hit. Dye, Konerko, Crede, AJ, Iguchi don't need (or wouldn't listen to) hitting coaches anyway.
-
White Sox vs. Mariners, 5/2/07 (L)
My question is... what lineup do you want Oz to put out there? Williams needs to take the blame. When Dye and Konerko (HR today) and AJ and Crede aren't hitting and Iguchi as well we are going to SUCK. The other two outfield positions besides Dye have no candidates for success. And w/out Thome we don't have a decent DH. The roster is limited. The bad luck is we're pitching pretty well. But what can Oz do??? He has no good options right now.

2007 White Sox Catch-All Thread
Southside Irish is probably right. Maybe just the shock of firing the coach will help. I still question how much our guys listen to any hitting coach.
-
White Sox vs. Mariners, 5/1/07 (L)
Walker should be fired but I really don't think it will matter. I mean how much do our veterans listen to a hitting coach anyway? You think anybody can tell Uribe how to hit? Or Paulie? Even Crede, AJ? Our lineup is dead w/out Thome.

White Sox vs. Mariners, 5/1/07 (L)
Is anybody else getting worried about Cleveland running away with it this year with Detroit the obvious second best team in the division?
-
White Sox vs. Mariners, 5/1/07 (L)
You guys are a tough crowd. the guy homers for the Sox and I sense negativity.
-
If you had to choose one player for the rest of his career.....
I agree with Bovine, option C. BA cannot hit. He needs a 2 year stint in the minors in our organization and we can see if he is a big leaguer after 1000 at bats in the minors.

Anderson sent down to AAA
Our scouts need to go. How could anybody draft a guy who bats like BA No. 1? He looks like a pitcher at the plate. What round was Jeremy Reed? We need new scouts.

2007 White Sox Catch-All Thread
This isn't meant as a flame against anybody but do you really believe a hitting coach matters that much? Or at all? The well paid guy with the bat in his hands either hits it or don't.
