White Sox Winner!
You are assuming KW is a complete moron. He's not going to decide we are great if we start winning. I am not saying we are going to make a splash, but my god, why give up? What if somehow we start hitting (paulie, thome and aj were 6-12 tonight) and got red hot and crept close to .500 by the break. The Astros sucked a cuople years ago and rallied. Again ... I do not think this will happen, but to want us to lose I believe is ridiculous. I want the Sox to win every night. Am I alone in this???

I think I say this on behalf of most of the people here...
Beautiful Ribbie! I was just actually going to say you do become a billionaire in many cases by being a clueless idiot when you inherit money and have never worked a day in your life and try to run a business. Yes I do know some of these such idiots. I feel for those just starting in the workplace, cause all this "team" bulls*** invading society and businesses cutting benefits and the one business (circuit city i believe) firing all its employees so they could rehire them at less money is a sign of society going down the tubes. Again, nice job Ribbie. All time post in my book.

White Sox Winner!
The odds of Pedro not making it big are MUCH greater than him making it big. I have better things to do than dream about some guy who may or may not even make the bigs, stay healthy, etc. I mean what are the odds? Look at all the can't miss prospects who suck. CJ Henry. 5 tool player? Uh .200 hitter. There are no guarantees. I'd rather win now and worry about drafts later, but that's just me.

White Sox Winner!
Hope you are kidding. I want us to win every game we play. I mean do you want the Sox to lose every night? That is absurd IMO. Do some of you really want the Sox to lose? I am baffled by this.

White Sox winner
Kalapse's research has proven my lame point. We are not a bad team when our clueless hitters rap 10-12 hits. Hit the ball!!!

Is Jenks on the block?
The Cubs won't make a significant deal with us, just Jones, because of our steal of Garland.
-
Phil Rogers Details Kenny's Failures
Yes, Great Point.
-
Trade The Ship, resign Buehrle!
If the Sox are serious about winning, Mark and Garland will be our top two starters a long time. You can't throw 5 Danks' out there and expect to be even a .500 team.

i hate everything on earth now, so..
Hope you are right chisoxfan. I like him, too. Hope the trade of Thome will bring some impact players.

White Sox winner
Thanks Kalapse. What about 10 or more hits? I'd think 12 is the magic number for success factoring in our horrific bullpen.

Yeah but in the "real world" sometimes the workers feel that way because their bosses are clueless idiots who have made billions because of the work of the peons. p.s. Whatever did happen to andy the clown? Seriously. Is he dead? Alive? What's the story

White Sox winner
We get 12 hits. We win. Has anybody figured out our record when we get 12 or more hits? It's simple with this team. Had it hit at the same rate of the last few years, it would be in contention, bullpen be damned. Because with 12 or more hits a game we'd have a few blowouts and let our horses*** relievers pitch in blowout victory situations once in a while.

Yankees Interested in Buehrle/Dye?
This trade would make no sense. Just some more prospects rather than guys who can actually play the game now and help us win.
-
Is Jenks on the block?
My gawd, let's just revolutionize baseball. Trade every single White Sox player and see what happens.
-
Phil Rogers Details Kenny's Failures
He made a good point. The Sox didn't address the issues that made them a non contender in 06. So in that regard it was a right on article.

Predictions
i just don't get how so many people think the Sox are going to trade 5-6 regular starters? Baseball should investigate because we will be almost trying to lose every single game the rest of the year.

Josh Fields and team's lack of clutch hits
I'm not ripping him. I tried to word my initial post to make that clear. I just a.) thought it would have been great to have him steal the headlines with the key hit yesterday or today. And b.) really wondered if the Crede haters had changed their opinion of Josh at all after actually seeing him in the flesh for a week or so. I hope Fields does well. p.s. Note to Paulie and Thome and AJ. It would be nice if you three could solve your hitting problems and start carrying the team. No excuses. You 3 have got to start ripping the baseball. My gawd, start hitting.

Josh Fields and team's lack of clutch hits
Yes that is a good point. I just thought it would have been nice to see him be the Sox player to smash a key hit yesterday or today. He had a couple chances to steal the headlines and he made weak outs just like the rest of his teammates.

Trading Mark Buehrle =
Come back and post after the trade is made. I envision the Sox getting 3 "top prospects" minor leaguers for Mark. Let's see if we get "quality position players" back. I hope we do; I don't see it. No contender is going to give up good everyday players for Mark. They are contenders because those other guys are doing well. No non contender will want him as he approaches free agency.

Miscellaneous "White Sox" Trade Notes
That's what scares me. I'd rather tinker and trade a couple guys like Dye and Jose and our hors*** relievers like Thornton and MacDougal and be buyers in free agency. The minute we trade Mark we're just another Royals.
-
Josh Fields and team's lack of clutch hits
What do you all think of Fields after his first week or so of regular playing time? Is he a certain star or just another guy? I will not crucify him because he's actually had some hits, unlike Anderson when he got his first chance ... but Fields really had a chance to make an immediate impact and be a fan favorite in several plate appearances against the Cub. And he, like his teammates, couldn't get the clutch hit. To those who were happy Crede went on the DL ... do you have the same feeling about Fields you had a week or so ago? Just asking, because the unknown always appears better than the known. On a side note, have you ever seen a team in a 3 game series at home against a rival have so few impact hits? I mean nobody slashed any shots into the gaps, nobody hit the ball over the fence, it was strike out after strike out, bad at bat after bad at bat. It was like 3 days of hell in the Sox's own ballpark nonetheless.

The Greg Walker Lynch mob thread
Just somewhere in the front office or in Class A or Double A or to the scouting department. Don't fire him in respect for his past contributions. Reassign him and make him the scapegoat.
-
I think I say this on behalf of most of the people here...
Yep. That is what a good fan is supposed to do. A good fan, however, also can moan and groan and sell their tickets 'cause this has been playing some really bad, historically bad baseball. But anybody who totally abandons this team is what they call a front runner. This is embarrassing and sick to watch, but a true fan won't totally abandon ship. They will b**** and groan and drink themselves to oblivion, but not wear paper bags over their heads like that moron asshole shown on WGN today. Hey bagman, did you have that bag over your head when the Sox won the World Series? Get a grip, man.

Trading Mark Buehrle =
Trade Jose. Keep Mark.

The Greg Walker Lynch mob thread
I wouldn't fire him, I'd reassign him. The players are the ones with the most pathetic at bats of their careers. Konerko and Thome couldn't get a hit when it mattered against the Cubs making their pitchers look like Cy Young winners. When Crede was healthy he couldn't hit this year. AJ hasn't hit; Dye hasn't hit. Iguchi hasn't hit. These are veterans. ITS THEIR FAULT! That said, reassign Walker and let somebody else get ripped on here for the Sox awful hitting.
