  1. Tony should activate the coaches so they can bat when the opponent brings in a position player. That wouldn't be against the unwritten rules.
  2. Sorry about my post probably jinxing the Sox. I thought Sox were past jinx b.s. 3 horrific at bats. Disgracefully bad.
  3. Don't worry, Greg has a good vibe about this game at this juncture. Not a certain win but I like Sox chances.
  4. Way to go Jose! Old school baseball. The analysts can't tell me that wasn't valuable, baby. And it was 'just' a single! Love me some Abreu.
  5. Sheets is in some sort of a 1-for-20ish tailspin isn't he? His average is dipping.
  6. Another reason baseball is dying. Tim Anderson is an all star. Period. Should be in the game. Baseball needs stars. I can see why Abreu is not considered despite his RBIs, he's not passed the "all star eye test" this year. But Timmy is an all star. Sickens me he's not in the game.
  7. So with all your points, at least admit no managers have an effect on a team unless they are buffoons like Bevington. Who would be a better manager than LaRussa in your mind? You know ... the great Joe Maddon was a god (small g) with the Cubs, then a buffoon with the same team. Tony LaRussa is not a buffoon. He is excellent and as good as any manager out there to be in charge of this team. I can accept your fact Tony has little to nothing to do with the success of the team, but if I accept that u must accept that NO MANAGER has anything this year to do with the success of his team. No manager. If they are not buffoons like Bevington, they are all about the same. I'd give Tony an A for his performance this season. What would you give him? C? D? F even?
  8. Good. I really don't want any part of the disease and so far I've obeyed all suggestions, etc. I don't wanna play with Covid.
  9. I said in the eyes of fans. They despised Ozzie. I was despised, maybe even suspended here for the first time for my passionate defense of his leaving the Sox for Miami. The universal perception here that I didn't buy was he "quit on the team." Fans despised him. . I LOVED Ozzie and got fried for defending him by posters on here.
  10. There are no good managers in the eyes of fans, period. They all screw up all the time ... when their team loses. Tony has done a marvelous job and yes I'm still upset at him over the DUI stuff. Right now he deserves an A plus for all the obvious reasons I won't repeat. Who would you rather have than LaRussa? Nobody is better.
  11. Wow. So I have received both doses of vax, got fully vaxxed long ago,. The mask mandate here is pretty much gone (for now, I figure it's coming back with all the virus talk returning lately) so I haven't been wearing the mask the last five days I'd say. Am I gonna get COVID or am I OK? I've gotten vaxxed for gosh sakes.
  12. This obviously is not a good injury for a catcher. I'll just betcha he isn't back this season. Remember this post as the months go by, please. ... It's sink or swim for Collins. I wish him well. I've liked Collins from the start, but I'm not positive he's a big leaguer. Hope so.
  13. It's results that matter and Sox pretty much are a strong team now despite a zillion injuries. Tony definitely knows what he's doing. Credit to the players, too.
  14. Not trying to stir it up, but this is what happens when you have a real manager. The team on paper with the best team wins ... despite a ton of injuries. If Sox run away with this it may be LaRussa's best coaching job on his resume in his career. Eight games up with so many injuries. This isn't Robin or Renteria, folks. As far as today's win ... nice to see Leury and Burger get multi hits and Timmy with the big game. Good pitching. I won't take for granted nice wins on the road. (Abreu and Sheets with the 0-fers. Is Sheets having trouble? Didn't watch today.)
  15. Biden said something yesterday about going door to door in neighborhoods offering the vaccine. I would imagine there will be some wild scenes unfolding on porches where they try that. People are making up their own minds. Not many people are going to let the door to door medical personnel jab them.
  16. I sure thought the mom said Johnson and Johnson.
  17. To show that I am an honest person, I saw that interview on a two or three part tic tock. I don't think all those videos are fake are they? The kid was in the hospital and they wouldn't use a kid as a prop. That has to be illegal. Don't ban me for being honest. If I shouldn't cite tic toc videos I won't any more. I'll look for it on youtube and post link if I can find it. I betcha it appeared elsewhere if it was on there. For question2: Without getting specific I group scientists and politicians together cause I have certain scientists and politicians in mind who I feel are bad peeps. I don't want to name them and cause a big fight and probably get banned. Suffice it to say I have some people in mind so I just say scientists and politicians. 3.) You folks will be happy over the holiday I watched the entire first season of Jason Sudeikis Ted Lasso and now I'm watching first season of TheMorning Show. Good stuff. And got me off cable. I was pleasantly surprised and actually proud of CNN on the 4th. I actually gave CNN a chance and even Don Lemon acted happy and patriotic and was proud of the USA during the entire show. He could have gotten negative and didn't. CNN had on bands like Chicago, Beach Boys and REO and Susanne Hoffs, quite a blast from past and fireworks shows all over the USA. They showed the flag over and over and I must admit I almost cried a few times. And believe it or not I was so proud of Biden's speech. He for the first time at least the first time I can recall acted very proud of the USA; he actually said the country was great finally and he even cited God. Then on the 5th the news got bad again, but on the 4th I was proud of CNN and Biden. Those are my answers. Why can't CNN and FOX play nice and be proud of America daily as they were on the 4th. The show and Biden's speech were beautiful.
  18. I watched a video of a woman and her kid. The kid was healthy before the vaccine and now a physical mess after the vaccine, Johnson and Johnson. So I still think some people are not effing Stoopid, but scared. Understandably so they do not trust the scientists or politicians so they will not be vaccinated. Is that true 100,000 cases a day in England?? That seems insane. If that's true, won't England pretty much be in a total crisis soon? 100,000 new cases a day??
  19. I have a bad feeling about the Grandal injury, so that means Collins must excel. Maybe he'll hit well off righties. Awful loss tonight but hey law of averages says you won't beat a team you dominate every night. Sox due for a loss to Minnie.
  20. I know he had 3 hits in a game, what yesterday?, but I wish he'd relax and pound the mistake pitches. I still love Jose but hope he starts raking.
  21. Is he taking too many pitches? This hitting coach must be stressing taking a lot of pitches.
  22. You can't meet an opposing player in the parking lot. Hit him.
  23. 19 games per division team is ridiculous IMO. Sox this year are dominating Minnie, so look for the predictable brawl tonight.
  24. Get ready. This game has big-time brawl written all over it. Donaldson will be going down and there will be suspensions. Hopefully nobody gets hurt. Remember this post during postgame chats about the game. p.s. If they have threats of storms, etc., maybe the brawl will be postponed a night, but it's coming. You don't do what Donaldson did and not get hit.
  25. Gee whiz, another series with the Twins. Oh boy. Please baseball, get rid of the schedule in which teams play their own division so many times!! Why are people OK with this boredom? Sox could be playing more games vs. Milwaukee, Chicago, Cincinnati, St. Louis if they want to keep it regional and reduce the amount of games vs. these divisional teams. Drives me crazy.
