NIL Policy Coming to NCAA
I was thinking, if the NCAA now is competing against the NBA, I would think the NBA would win. Though I don't watch a lot of NBA the players obviously are the elite of the elite compared to college guys. I think most people though would agree the NCAA athletes deserve a piece of the pie. Coaches make 5-8 million a year; the players now have the right to make some deals for money.

Way to beat the shift. Players should do that every time vs the shift. No exceptions.

Inexcusable at bat. Move the runners. Don't hit a weak pop fly.

Way to go, Gavin Sheets. Actually goes with the pitch and hits a single. Oh how I wish there was more of that in baseball, a simple single. Nice job, Gavin. Love the way he kept his eye on the ball and stroked it.

COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
I hope the vaccines work. Should be interesting to see how the USA handles this predicted wave of cases. Too bad I've run out of my cloth masks that I liked. I forget where I ordered them. Looks like masks ain't going anywhere. So let's summarize where we are in the fight against COVID 16 months in ... Full attendance is being allowed at sporting events with no masks needed; Broadway is opening soon; Vegas is open; concerts are returning or have returned; even my church next Sunday is allowing full capacity and no masks required; our grocery stores are not requiring masks; our bars and coffee shops no masks needed. .... Any bets this will still be the case in a month? I sure hope so. Not confident tho. Covid is still in the headlines and the news isn't positive. (new variant is contagious; only have the country willing to be vaxxed; hospitals filling already again in some U.S. cities; yikes baby!) https://finance.yahoo.com/news/bringing-back-mask-mandate-is-a-good-idea-doctor-on-delta-variant-135926196.html

Oh I don't trust corporations either. I said to trust nobody but your family. Times have changed. There are a lot of sinister people in government and of course business. I can only list maybe 5 politicians I "like" and of course I would never list them here. Too much hatred and unwillingness to agree to disagree everywhere in 2021. If somebody has a view different from somebody else .... look out.

Rabbit is on to something here. Look ... in 2021 NOBODY should trust the government, Republicans or Democrats. NOBODY should trust mayors or governors blindly. Folks these are uncharted waters. Trust only your family, folks. Everything else take with a grain of salt. We so badly need leaders in it for the right reasons and I'm not referring to becoming very wealthy.

Thank u. So far so good regarding me and covid and me and vaccines. I do think if the hesitant weigh "everything" the logical conclusion is to sign up for the shot, then as I did, ask the nurse a few questions, and see if you feel a good vibe or a bad one. I felt a good vibe and confidently took both shots. On the second one I didn't even ask any questions as I did before the first one. Personally ... I really would like to avoid COVID.

Maybe but I saw and heard the fear expressed by her. I didn't even bother to try to talk her out of it, I just said, "I had no problems with the vaccine. I've been apprehensive as well but I got the shots. Fortunately no problems." I even told her to talk to the nurse who admins the shot. I gave her the name of the store I got mine at. I said "after you talk to the nurse you should feel better about this." She said not happening,

Yes, there's a lady at church who wants to "wait and see." She's afraid of vaccine.

How come u can't believe some of us are scared to take the vaccine. I took it anyway (two moderna shots) after going through all the reasons to take it vs. not taking it. I overcame my fear of the vaccine. The brain works in mysterious ways which is why we have so many prescription drugs to help cure wild thoughts, mood swings, erratic psych behavior. Some of us were afraid. Some still are afraid to be vaccinated.

No way I'm going into any of this on the board. I'm sure I'd get banned. I'm trying hard to stay within the rules.

I can answer your question as I deathly feared the vaccines after listening to different videos and reading some stuff and my growing anger at how I feel we've been lied to a lot over political reasons and our weird sudden love of China. ... What do they fear you ask. Death? Answer: Uh, yes. I feared getting a severe reaction either right after the shot went in or within a day or so. I read that there were some deaths and also my nephew went down in a heap (he's OK) five minutes after getting Johnson and Johnson. He passed out and hit his head going down. Yes they feared either death, hospitalization or what's still out there, long-term side effects. For some reason I'm not that worried about those rite now. Peace.

I respect your post. However this part ... I've run into a lot of people that are afraid to take the vaccine. They are not bad people they are scared of the vaccine and that's the only reason they won't get vaccinated. They are not bad peeps, just fear what might happen to them down the line if they get vaccinated. Personally I got double dosed of vaccine even though I do not trust the lead scientist on this issue.

Three NC State players who were vaccinated tested positive for Covid. It's a nonsequitir that A LOT of people in the stands (pure mathematical odds) have COVID right now and yet healthy college kids were denied the right to play. Either Covid is. big deal or it isn't. The fact the stands are full means it's not a big deal right now except for some grandstanding gesture by the NCAA. Sounds to me like this was another power play by the NCAA with no looking at the science here. They are playing baseball outdoors before packed crowds of fans many not vaccinated. Play ball.
