July 7, 20214 yr Hell Yes!!!! Fuck the Twinkies!! On to Baltimore and then the break and then start getting our guys back 2nd half of the season.
July 7, 20214 yr Zevala won't hit a lick...but the glove is good enough once or twice a week. Glad to see TA going nuts and the bullpen is starting to shape up a bit. Great way to bury these dorks.

July 7, 20214 yr Just keep collecting W's. Only thing that matters at this point is making the playoffs. Whole new ballgame once that happens and hopefully (?)Eloy, Robert, Grandal are back, along with some reinforcements to really make them a force. Just keep the W's coming.

Just keep the W's coming. .500 from this point on gets them 89-73, that's probably good enough to take the division. Just gotta hang on, as you said, until the cavalry shows up in September.

Just gotta hang on, as you said, until the cavalry shows up in September. I'd be shocked if that doesn't win them the division. Obviously would love for them to play better than .500 ball for the rest of the season......but to your point....they may not have to. Here is the other thing people need to remember but of course won't because we have no emotional control. Things are probably going to get rough after the ASB for the Sox. They have a stretch in August where it's Yankees, A's, Rays, Blue Jays, Cubs. Obviously the Cubs will have sold by then, but those games are always weird. They probably won't have a great record in that stretch, and fans will freak out. But again.....it really doesn't matter. As long as the pitching stays healthy and these guys are ready for October (Rodon, Kopech, Crochet especially).....if Eloy-Robert-Grandal can actually come back for the playoffs.......it's a whole different team. Just get there.
July 7, 20214 yr Fun fact the two teams that played for the 2016 WS are on a combined 19 game losing streak and it can be 20 very shortly.
July 7, 20214 yr Anderson 4/4 , double BB, RBI Goodwin 2/5 double, RBI Engel 2/4 2 doubles ,SB Garcia 34/ Triple, HR, 3 RBI Burger 2/4 , double , RBI Hamilton 2/4 double Every Sox player listed who had a minimum of 2 hits had a double , except Leury who had a triple and a HR. Somebody loan Leury a double so he can have the Cycle. Big Bastard continues to impress with 6 innings of 1 run ball. Struggled with command a bit but the ump wasn't doing him any favors.

July 7, 20214 yr This post from the Twins' reddit board has become a meme on the overall baseball reddit and it feels like it needs to come here in lieu of looking at that stat. Quote They're still an excellent team who is going to give us a run for the division. That said, the pundits calling them the best team in the AL (or whatever) were dumb. The White Sox may be two-time defending offseason champs, but they are still very limited. They have really incredible headline players; Giolito, Abreu, Anderson, Robert, but their depth behind them is super shallow. The Eloy Jiménez injury is already a good illustration of this. There's a reason why the Yankees are always so good and why the Twins have won the division for two straight years despite constant injuries to key players, and it's depth. If he gets a run of injuries, is Tony La Russa going to be able to patch together a winner the way Aaron Boone or Rocco Baldelli did in 2019? I'm skeptical. (Also, lost in the hype of the Hendriks signing is the fact that they spend $54 million on a relief pitcher. That's just dumb, no matter how good the guy is. Guaranteed the Twins will have a reliever with similar stats to Hendriks who will make a fraction of what he's making. The Twins bullpen is better overall.) This was posted on April 5. Lmao.
