Game thread for Saturday, April 22nd at 610 pm cdt
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 23, 2017 -> 12:54 AM) There is about 30k here tonight. Too bad the luck of the rotation isn't providing an entertaining game. 30,000? Tip of the cap to Sox fans. They won't be back obviously. QUOTE (reiks12 @ Apr 23, 2017 -> 01:22 AM) oh boy did i !@#$ up.. doing mlb beat the streak and picked anderson because of his history against Carrasco. Never again At least you realize the error of your ways. He needs to be sent down until he learns patience at the plate. One walk every 100 at bats is not good nuff at this level.

Game thread for Saturday, April 22nd at 610 pm cdt
3 hits? Two by Saladino? This team has started its road to 110 losses (I know, call me Captain Obvious). Seriously, a lot of us have been Sox fans a long time. I can't remember (on paper) a worse lineup than this one ever. Check the record books. Even those teams in the 60s with the lower mound had better "on paper" hitters. Maybe you can find some teams tie this one but this one is as bad a lineup, as bad a team as any in Sox history "on paper." Before it's over I would suggest this team will get no hit multiple times. I'm SURE it will suffer more shutouts than any team in Sox history. At any rate, tickets should be available for free this summer or close to free on Stubhub. Maybe this is the summer I'll check out a game. Can anybody get me those expensive leisure club seats behind the plate (the ones where they have waitresses for food/drink) for 10-20 bucks at some point in late May or June or July. I'm serious. If you can, please PM me. I'm gonna take advantage of no traffic, no crowds and go to a game finally this summer.

2017 Democratic Thread
QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 20, 2017 -> 09:17 PM) BTW I'm so completely sick of Bernie Sanders. Bernie Sanders’s strange behavior This board certainly has its whipping boys. Why the hell do Demos on here hate Bernie? I think it's cause we Republicans go so far as to say we like him and probably would have voted for him. I don't get it. Bernie is the opposite of evil.

Most Airlines just don't seem to care
Horrible incident on AA flight. What a great move by the male passenger getting involved and getting in the face of the flight attendant who made the woman cry and nearly hurt a baby. Glad to see the airlines getting called out a lot lately with these type of stories. Again, if it's United, Delta or AA, you are going to have a ton of incidents come to light. IMO they act like they are doing you a big favor in many instances letting you fly and the only airline of the big ones that is a halfway pleasant experience for the passenger is SWA. So there's no reason to just pile on United. Pile on all three: United, Delta and AA. Just the fact you can't use funds for future air travel on those airlines if you can't make a flight shows in itself how unappealing they are for the passenger. http://www.businessinsider.com/american-ai...th-buggy-2017-4 --This story could get its 15 minutes especially if that passenger who got involved is discovered and speaks to the media, etc. As well as the woman whose baby was in danger.

Smith is another guy wasting his time. He can't hit either.

Indians @ Sox, 7:10 Quintana vs Kluber
QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Apr 22, 2017 -> 04:37 AM) Sox have scored 14 runs in their last seven games. They have scored a total of four runs for Q ALL SEASON. One run in his last three starts. They need to trade him right now before he loses his f***ing mind! Mark Typical dysfunctional White Sox, too. They scored 10 runs somehow in that one game and since have had hardly any offense at all. That was the night we were discussing how the Sox rarely if ever blow out an opposing team. This franchise blows. I just wish Jerry would sell it to somebody willing to spend some money.

2017 Democratic Thread
QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 21, 2017 -> 10:16 PM) How dare I hold the Great Bernie Sanders accountable in exactly the way he asks we hold our Democratic reps accountable. I don't get the longtime Democrats hatred of Bernie. The kids loved him and rightly so. He should be president right now. I'm firmly convinced if Hillary wanted to run one more time she'd be encouraged to do so again. The love of Hillary is baffling. Bernie was the Trump buster. He'd have won in a landslide.

Shields to the DL
QUOTE (reiks12 @ Apr 22, 2017 -> 01:35 AM) Well it is bad because a good Shields has a place on a contender in the second half They weren't going to get anything of note for Shields. He's finished.

Indians @ Sox, 7:10 Quintana vs Kluber
QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Apr 22, 2017 -> 04:03 AM) It's also embarrassing that the Sox keep trotting him out as their starting centerfielder and still charge fans for major league tickets. No reason to go to a game this season for the baseball part of the equation. The food? Yes. But not to watch baseball unless you just want to watch certain stars on one or two opposing teams.

Indians @ Sox, 7:10 Quintana vs Kluber
This team should start dropping a ton of games from here on out. Horrific offense. Really the worst offense maybe in Sox history, certainly since the 60s.

The Korea Situation; It's Very Serious
Anybody get the feeling we're gonna wake up one day to the mother of all international crises in North Korea?

Baseball America Mock Draft 2.0
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 20, 2017 -> 05:42 PM) http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft/mock-...UMGkKBkxSZIR.97 They have the Sox taking Louisville Prep OF Jordon Adell. Loaded with tools. Significant swing and miss issues though. 11. White Sox The White Sox would snap up Gore if he fell this far, but that’s unlikely. An infusion of pitching talent in offseason trades gives the Sox the flexibility to go back to one of their favored phyla of talent, toolsy prep outfielders such as Louisville prep toolshed Jordan Adell. Pick: Jordon Adell, of, Ballard HS, Louisville | LOL at the draftniks who want us to lose so we get this guy. Why not just trade for KC's Bubba Starling while you're at it.

Sign Avi to a long term contract?
QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Apr 19, 2017 -> 01:01 PM) Those of you poo-pooing the move will regret it if he fetches $25 million per year in the offseason. This could be our chance to lock up a Mike Trout or Bryce Harper type talent for half the dough. It could be instrumental in building that 2020 World Series championship team. Waiting is suicidal. This a move that needs to be made now before its too late. Dumb thread. Nobody fell for it, Sin. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Apr 19, 2017 -> 04:33 PM) Davidson has to prove himself a little longer. He didn't have to suffer under the Ventura regime which held many players production to 70% or less of their capacity. It's clear now that Avi was the biggest victim of Robin's "leadership" and I hope we can keep "Little Miggy" in the fold for a long time as he blossoms into a first ballot HOFer. Dumb thread. Avi is despised on this board and nobody wants him signed to a long-term deal. Nobody fell for the troll post.

Sox at Yanks 4/18
QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Apr 19, 2017 -> 03:03 AM) Yep, happy to say Avi is making me eat my words. Hats off to MiGo for pitching so well against a hot team in a tough place to pitch. Glad to see you give credit where it's do. Go Avi!

Sign Avi to a long term contract?
People accuse me of being a troll. Me thinks this is a fake post. Avi is despised on this board. I'd say 90 percent of people on here would be against paying him any more $$ or adding any more years. I mean real money and real years. Obviously people would be OK extending his current chump change contract for 3 mill a year, add 5-6 more years. But real money? No way.

2017 Republican Thread
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 7, 2017 -> 07:36 AM) http://finance.yahoo.com/news/target-boyco...-141019006.html Thought Greg would enjoy seeing his bathroom argument being validated by the Target boycott, which has cost them millions of dollars, and started from a single unauthorized Target corporate blog post (but didn't go through the CEO). Wow. Was watching Ben Shapiro speak tonight. You think my position on the bathrooms is wrong? You guys would scream and holler and shout if you heard what Shapiro says about transgender stuff. My position is mild compared to his.

President Donald Trump: The Thread
QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Apr 18, 2017 -> 06:00 AM) Do you think Kim just presses FIRE the minute a couple ICBMs are ready? I honestly don't know. I mean how much does he really care about the citizens of his country? I'd love to know. That's the key. Yes. I think he will want to go down in infamy. The man who ended the earth as we know it. If a nuke hits the west coast, it's all over. We'll blow north korea off the map and China/Russia will combine to send more nukes to our mainland. I think China comes out the victor for world supremacy in this scenario and they probably will realize it.

2016-17 NHL Thread
QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Apr 18, 2017 -> 07:00 AM) He did a drive by, went for his head, and tried to spin him. It was absolutely intentional. Surprising the refs after looking at it ruled no interference. They had to know that was the series right there. Why does the NHL want Chicago out of the playoffs so early? Is it better for business if new teams win it all?

President Donald Trump: The Thread
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 18, 2017 -> 05:53 AM) Hillary Clinton made a name for herself in China and Russia speaking out against human rights violations and for women's rights. She also advocated for bombing the airfield in Syria. That said, I think there's definitely a much more aggressive pose in terms of giving up on ultimatums and sanctions. There's finally a sense in 2019...2020, they'll actually have an operational nuclear ICBM striking the West Coast of the US. For what it's worth, Bush's policies the last 2-3 years of his lame duck term were probably equally ineffective as Obama's. Of course, you can argue they didn't start a war on the peninsula. Let's see what the Trump administration ends up choosing to do with the continued provocations. They've been so outspoken it will be hard to totally back down after all this belligerence in recent weeks. We simply can't allow that crazy man to nuke the West Coast in a couple years. China has to realize we can't take that risk. If they don't help us out, global nuclear war is ahead like in War Games.

President Donald Trump: The Thread
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 18, 2017 -> 02:16 AM) The funny thing is Greg described himself as a Republican before Obama. Trump has been nothing but a typical Republican in terms of his flip-flops and policy changes the last 2-3 weeks. Except for being softer on abortion than Pence (also, LGBTQ rights, due to Ivanka and Jared), there would be little or no difference between the two others than the tweets and SNL skits. (Well, they did make fun of Pence for never eating alone with another woman, so there's that.) If you like GOP orthodox policies, he's now your man. Of course, NOT why he was elected at all. This Korea thing is shaping up as an early test of Trump and the differences bet he and Democrat presidents. Trump appears to be ready willing and able to bomb Korea, which IMO is not a good idea. However I feel a vibe that he'll do something pretty radical. The Democrats IMO would never come close to pissing off china in this regard. Should be very interesting to follow this powerderkeg. It would be unwise for anybody to be visiting South Korea anytime soon. I feel like this is more serious than we're being led to believe right now.

President Donald Trump: The Thread
QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Apr 18, 2017 -> 12:30 AM) It was meant as it was used in "Shawshank." It's not meant as stupid or anything. Just a little thick headed. I truly do find Greg entertaining. Greg posts "x." Someone will post a link that disproves it (as much as any link can or should be trusted). Then, Greg will change his position. I actually appreciate that he is willing to change because it would be nice if others did budge, even a little, from time to time. I actually think Greg's position is that he is sick of the establishment Dems and Reps, and that is why he likes the outsiders (Trump, Obama, Sanders) who were not the traditional candidates when they ran. I think Greg is really a third party, independent candidate type, but I can't for the life of me understand how he seems to be ok with Trump the President. Trump the ideal (outsider, drain the swamp, make government efficient), I can see why Greg is drawn to that. But, Trump immediately did a 180 when he got in office and has changed almost everything that he stood for when he was running. I don't think any President has ever done this so quickly. Anyway, nothing terrible was meant by the obtuse comment. Or, maybe I'd just like to avoid a week in "the hole." Thanks for your post. Somebody else quoted a line about stupid people, that's the one that made me mad. I'm no political expert but I'm not a stupid person. I'll match my standardized test scores, grades, etc., against anybody on here and I'd come out all right. I am sick of the establishment. My stance on Trump is I want to give him a chance yet if he does something impeachable by all means dump his ass. Those of you who laugh and say he's already committed a ton of impeachable offenses, grow up please. If he has, I'm sure impeachment proceedings would begin.

Most Airlines just don't seem to care
https://www.overlawyered.com/2006/09/the-bu...king-that-isnt/ Let's not forget the case of the UK burglar who fell through the skylight in the middle of breaking into a high school...fell through, sued the school and light manufacturer, and ended up with nearly $1 million in lifetime benefits. I say they sue for 50 mill and get 10.
