  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 9, 2017 -> 08:59 PM) Oh Greg He's destined for rotten-ness with his approach to hitting. Can't swing at everything. Must be selective or failure is assured.
  2. Too bad. You hit into the shift you deserve to be out.
  3. Should Anderson be sent down til he learns more about hitting?
  4. Bennetti is a very enjoyable listen. 40 year career ahead for him I'd think. He and Stoney are a delight in a miserable offensive show.
  5. QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Apr 9, 2017 -> 08:28 PM) Frazier is going to struggle to keep his average above .200 this year...his approach is just awful. We're stuck with him Yeah, he definitely stinks. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 9, 2017 -> 08:29 PM) This offense sure hates scoring run for Q. To be fair, on paper this was a shutout in the making.
  6. Looks like a huge crowd. Sox fans still are interested.
  7. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 9, 2017 -> 06:58 PM) Kittle is talking a mile a minute, holy f***. That was funny he said if you only charge 100 for admission you get a bunch of drunks who ruin it for everybody else. There must be a lot of jerks running around the city of Chicago.
  8. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 9, 2017 -> 06:56 PM) You don't pay Avi to bunt They don't pay him to do anything at 3 mill a year. Peanuts.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 9, 2017 -> 07:53 PM) Are you even watching? Yeah, he blows. Nice wood on that particular at bat though.
  10. Horrific bottom of the order, but like everybody says, not that it matters. Probably should have bunted but Avi would have popped it up.
  11. Yolmer is an automatic out.
  12. Avi with a bad swing on a meatball. Why not take a pitch?
  13. Q starting to pitch well.
  14. What's Q scared of? Nibbling. Working so slow.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 9, 2017 -> 06:19 PM) Anderson chasing way too many pitches Poor guy swings at everything. At this rate he'll draw maybe 10 walks all season.
  16. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 7, 2017 -> 05:35 PM) With all the discrimination that still exists in society today...try to imagine a son or daughter deliberately provoking confrontation and "being threatening to others," why would any sane/logical/rational person choose that difficult path? Great post. But my take is basically in response to the criminals/crazies who might want to prey on people by saying simply, "I identify as a female" and go into the women's room. Heaven forbid, in the not so distant history of my own Catholic religion, we have people who chose professions just to be close to kids so they could prey on them. I've heard the saying a million times that life isn't fair. If you have male private parts shouldn't you have to go to the men's room? Why are we discriminating here the other way or at least be escorted in there? What if it's my lifelong goal to prey on kids. Wouldn't this be another way to do so if you had a sick mind?? QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 7, 2017 -> 06:28 PM) The big deal is the one you are making. These people just want to take a piss or s*** and you want them to make sure they walk into the "correct" bathroom due to which private parts you have. And it's even more interesting that this comes from the same guy who wouldn't even walk into the same subway with someone who was either transgendered or a cross dresser. So, instead you want to share a bathroom with a cross dresser or transgendered man. Makes total sense a.) I'm surprised nobody agrees with me. I just feel like it's not too much to ask people to use the bathroom of their genetic makeup. Maybe we need to just simply change the bathroom setup across America and allow only one person in at a time to make sure we don't step on anybody's rights. Inconvenience, yes, but this is kind of a non sequitir allowing people with male parts into female bathrooms. Makes little sense. 2.) Yes when walking into the Subway at the same time as the cross dresser with high heels and a dress I made that decision to not eat there that night. I hadn't walked in yet. I wouldn't be rude enough to leave if I had already been in there like the other time. I know it can be painful for a person with male private parts who identifies as a female. I heard from Bruce Jenner and have read the suicide rate is very high. Of course I feel badly about that. If it saves lives then I'm all for changing the bathrooms and having just one person go in at a time. Anybody experiencing mental anguish deserves relief that is for sure. But we also have to keep those who prey on kids at bay. Why not do what I suggest? We must have a system now in which one person at a time and only one are allowed in bathrooms to make sure we satisfy everybody's rights here.
  17. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 6, 2017 -> 10:09 PM) He was on a roast last year and was still sharp as hell. Loved him on late night talk shows Watched the tribute show to him on Spike TV in 2013. He was pretty frail then. Comedians just love the guy. Jimmy Kimmel couldn't stop sobbing the other night and Letterman and Seinfeld and Eddie Murphy, all those guys worshiped Rickles. Sad to see him go. Not many of the old icons are left.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 7, 2017 -> 03:27 PM) Anyone know anybody looking for an entry-levl type finance job in the city located in the loop? I'm trying to scoop up a referral bonus lol message me for details. Can u help a 22 year old I know get a job in the city? He interviewed with the Fed and didn't get it. DePaul grad.
  19. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 9, 2017 -> 01:44 AM) You should and will love all our Sox players. Especially when we are pushing for a pennant races El Rockin is the best Sox fan alive. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 9, 2017 -> 02:16 AM) Why not Melky? He's been pretty consistent for us. Dunno. Never liked him.
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 9, 2017 -> 01:18 AM) I was at the game and where they play Maurer is incredible. If he hit one into the RF corner, he would have an easy triple. Avi was at least 120 feet off the line maybe 150 feet. May was in LC. Maurer hit one pretty much right at him where had they been playing straight up probably is a double unless the traded for Buxton. All the baseball metrics have made it so hard on hitters. Everybody knows where the guy is going to hit the ball with all these shifts. If you are a lefty slugger (not Mauer of course he's over the hill) for instance and there are four infielders playing you to pull you just have to bunt to the left side and take the single. You just have to. Why hit it right into the shift? Your only hope with these shifts is to hit it off the wall or over the fence. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Apr 9, 2017 -> 03:37 AM) I assume you are being sarcastic because if you aren't....well that would give one pause for thought. Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn now and again. Avi will get hot offensively for a week or two and then...it's look out below. Inconsistent offense, brutal defense, a bad baseball IQ...that doesn't bode well. Let's put it this way, would another team be interested in him if the Sox put him up for trade? (silence) There you go. Mark Yeah partly sarcastic, but 3 mill a year is nothing. I do respect your knowledge of the game obviously so I won't be getting in arguments with you. I feel kinda sorry for Avi cause he's 'close' to not being worthless IMO. Probably will never get over that hurdle but he is 'close' to being big league quality. I mean some guys (Brian Anderson, May, guys like that) are a different kind of bad than Avi.
  21. Great win against a divisional opponent. As usual Sox have a few likeable players and many you love to hate. I love Saladino, Abreu and Anderson and Davidson. Don't like Melky, Frazier. Despise Asche. Neutral about Avi. Happy for Soto's 3 homers but not a fan. Fan of Q.
  22. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Apr 8, 2017 -> 10:25 PM) And looking just as brutal in the field and regarding his baseball sense. Mark Who cares? Three mill a year ... he's already earned that even if he goes 0-fer the rest of the year.
  23. QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ Apr 9, 2017 -> 12:21 AM) On a $/WAR basis he's already been worth his salary this season. Exactly. He's making pennies. 3 mill is chump change. Nice game today, Avi. At least he cares or appears to play hard. Tank for instance looked a big loafer out there.

QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 8, 2017 -> 04:01 AM) It's actually entirely likely that the earth and humanity suffers an extinction-level event at some point in the near future. Between climate change and superviruses that are adapting to all of our medications? Yeah. Totally feasible. Am I concerned? Nope. Nothing I can do about it, so why be concerned? This is concerning IMO. We need to develop the vaccine to combat the pandemic flu first.

QUOTE (harkness @ Apr 8, 2017 -> 04:47 AM) I'm all for tanking/rebuild But as I'm watching the games.. where is the young talent getting experience.....? In the minor leagues. The major league team doesn't matter the next few seasons. That's why you'd have to have rocks in your head to pay full price for a ticket at any time. Stubhub box seats for 15 bucks is the way to go this season.
